I've just started with CNC, built my own from one of 'those' kits, still sorting the controller, but nearly there. I make instruments for a hobby and want to make the components more accurate with the cnc. I'm learning load watching your vids. It's going to take me years to get anywhere near half as good as you, but throughly enjoy watching your makes.

Your scarf joint method is great, what I had in mind took way more work and had a lot of room for error.

I need to look up Mach 3 wizard. I suspect that's a conversational milling strategy inside mach? If so, that will save a lot of time in fusion for me.

Yes, for simple facing and slotting jobs is a good way to go.
