great machine well done. it seems you don't have THC or I don't notice. I think when you are cutting the sheet it will bend and make problems .any problem without THC? and also It would be great if you have a deep review of the electrics you used.
Although I bought my Cnc Plasma table 4x4 I made a marker attachment, just finished up the router attachment so were working back wards lol but nice diy build next is a roller knife mount for vinyl & onto a designing a 3d print head & a laser attachment
Hi Sam Watched your build from start to finish. Great job. What method of starting does your Plasma Cutter use? High Frequency? Blow back? Did you have any issues with your Plasma Cutter electrically interfering with the CNC Controller? Again great job with this build and look forward to more of your videos. Cheers Willy
Hello Willy, the plasma cutter starts with a (hf) pilot arc . Yes, I have had emi problems with my usb cnc controller. I've solved that with a good grounding and shielding. For a cnc plasma cutter, a controller with ethernet is much better but also more expensive.
He Sam, I would be carefully with using galvanised grating as an cutting support. The galvanised steel gives toxic fumes as its burned and is cancerous. Greetings Jack
Thank You for that advice! I know that galvanised steel ist toxic when it burns. But I got it for free. While I am cutting I am using a fan to suck of the fume and wear a dust mask with activated carbon filter.
Herzlichen Dank Sam! Bitte lies die Antwort auf meinem Kanal. 👀 Tolle Musik hast du hier gewählt - fiel mir beim ersten Mal gar nicht auf! Liebe Grüße, Micha.
Thank You for your comment. Please have a look at my new video there is a link in the description. If there are questions left, please contact me again. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-njyXmwJjnVI.html
Because the tig welder are cheap and I can weld many different materials without changing the gas and it's a clean method to weld. For the frame I could have used also stick welding but that makes a lot of dirt in my small shop.
@@samsworkshopdiary5748 I will monitor your project, please let me know if you implement THC. I want to create my own flame machine, but I have a choice, a controller like yours without THC working through a computer and controlled by the mach3 program or the Chinese factory control panel StarFire SF 2100C (THC is installed with the least problems) I really don’t know what to choose...
Sorry I did not use mach 3. But normally you must have a relay or something on your cnc controller that is switched by the cnc software on your pc and this relay you must connect with your plasma cutter to switch the torch.
Thank You for your comment! Yes the cutting edges don't look really good, but I haven't used stainless steel (I've used DC01 (330) I think it's pretty similar to 235 or 355). I think I have to find out the right settings for cutting height and speed to get better results. Which settings do you use at your plasma table for 2 or 3mm sheet metal? Do you have a THC?
@@samsworkshopdiary5748 We have to try different speeds to find the best one. In my video we are cutting 3mm steel too slow (next day we cut 10mm steel on the same settings and it was really nice :D ). What about slag? Do you removed it easly? Right now we haven't THC, maybe in future :)
@@danielpelka50 I think my cutting speed is also to slow for thin metal. I've cut with 1200mm/min. The slag was a bit difficult to remove but it was able with a chisel.
Sam I like your design well done is it possible to get a basic plan for this build what would you change would you stay with the racks and gear or would you go for a different drive system? Well done again it a great concept that can be built at home let me know if I can get basic plans will send you a email address best Regards Rob T
Thank You for your comment Rob. I want to make a video in which I will explain the whole machine in more detail. A plan would be a lot of work, so I think that I will not do some. With a look at the videos it should be easy for you to build a similar machine, if you got detailed questions feel free to ask me. The results with the racks are quite good so I think I would use them again. If you want to build only a plasma cutter (without router option) belts can be a good and easier to handle alternative.
Danke Micha, ja bin endlich (fast) fertig. Jetzt muss ich noch ein wenig mit den Einstellungen rum probieren für noch bessere Ergebnisse aber fürs Erste ist das Projekt abgeschlossen. Jetzt muss erstmal was im Garten passieren...
