Thank you for taking the time to draw up the schematic and walking us through it. Much appreciated.

Absolutely Perfect! Thanks for refreshing my memory from my first build 3 years ago. If I remember right, the jumper allows your 5 volt wall wart to power a second section of the break-out board. Not sure though as it has been a while. I'm in the process of building a second generation to replace my first iteration. This time with high quality linear rails and ball screws for much better accuracy. All structural steel and zero wood products to be able to use coolant to cut aluminum and mild steel. Also with a 4th axis. It should get interesting.

Thanks for a great write up. Will be down loading your schematic. Perfect combination of views of the schematic and the real time results. The only thing that stumped me was the E-stop switches. It finally dawned on me that they are all normally closed.

Thanks for the wonderful video series! Just confirming, the 3 E-Stop switches would need to be "normally closed" (correspondingly configured "active low" in the Mach 3 CNC software) to work connected in series as they are, so that hitting any one breaks the circuit and stops the machine, right? Also, just curious, have you used any SmoothStepper board in addition to the C10 BOB? I would love if you could also do a video on Mach 3 configuration/settings/tuning ... especially tuning!

Quick question. The DM556D drivers are a bit pricey. Could you, on a small system substitute the TB66004A drivers instead? They are very inexpensive but not sure if they would serve the need? Any comments would be appreciated! Also could you explain why the 2 power supplies as many go with only one 36 V power supply for the entire set up. Thanks in advance!! This is the best diagram I have seen on you tube! Subscribed!

Hello Mr. Adams, thank you for sharing with us. It helps tremendously. Quick question, what program did you use to create the wiring diagram?
@MyRobertadams
@MyRobertadams 18 дней назад
You're welcome! I used a program called VisualCadd. It's just a standard cadd software, one of the earlier ones. It's predecesser was called Generic Cadd which was a dos based cadd from the late 80's. Visual Cadd is available from visualcadd.net.

Drivers should BOB should have fuses. LS should be NC in case of wiring problem there is no protection for O/T

You are correct, I should have fused the drivers. Limit switches are used for homing and they may be N.C. and I may have just drawn them wrong. It's been so long ago I don't remember. Thanks for the input and thanks for watching!

This machine is no longer available. The website closed. To operate a CNC, you ned software to draw the part, "CAD", and "CAM" software to create the tool paths and then a software to run the G-code that the "CAM" software creates, such as Mach3 or Mach4.
