An excellent interviewer. She was professional, calm (and a little shy) and just let him talk without interrupting. He's so relaxed here Gushy, fawning, shrill interviewers just make him nervous and fidgety.
What a lovely girl has been interviewing him! So delicate and calm. I myself got relaxed while listening to them. Richard seemed to be relaxed too. I think it was a pleasant conversation for them both. Most of today interviewers should learn from that girl how to do their job, because she is extremely good at it. My applause to her.
Really like the intimate and insightful atmosphere created in this interview. Richard can elaborate, his always interesting answers, without being interrupted or rushed. Love his humour when he speaks of staying in character, and specially the way he jokes about being on his knees talking to Gandalf. He looks so comfortable and calmed. One of my favorites interviews of him. Congratulations to the interviewer.
finally some intelligent questions that allowed Richard to elaborate, discuss and engage the interviewer with. Nice to see the interviewer not overwhelmed by his stardom and presented exceptionally well.
Thank you for posting this interview. there have been so many but this is the one I prefer.. Richard Armitage is always generous with his detailed answers, always tries to make it sound as though this is the only time he has answered the same questions. He is not only a talented actor but a thoughtful and intelligent man, and then of course, he's handsome with a beautiful voice!
Congrats on the interview. This is a really good one, and certainly because of the interviewer. She asks intelligent questions and let him answer. Best one I've seen!
I believe that if so calm and so relaxed, and that they both take their time to do this interview is because there is no real pressure at the moment. Indeed, the film had been released 5 monts before that, and back in December, when all the actors were in the middle of the film's promotion(a big one), they presented their film for the 1st time, interviewers had to go fast, and Richard was going to be "seen" on a worldwide scale.
very nice interview. I agree with others, RA seemed more relaxed here. I noticed the interviewer was very courteous and soft spoken (not very forward like many interviewers) I wonder if that made RA more relaxed? In any case, a nice one
Oh, you tease, Richard...I need to hear about the spiders now. Mirkwood is one of my favorite parts of the book and I'm just dying to see how they handle all that.
Living without modern conveniences is enriching, rejuvenating, and gives you back your soul. After a fortnight, however, you begin to long for a shower and appreciate the convenience of a flushing tiolet!
This interview is great. All answers of Richard in interviews are great but this one has an intimate tone, as Liliana Grim says, The young lady is calm and has a quite sweet voice and he seems to appreciate that combination and he uses the same tone. The music in the background is soothing...Every ingredients to have a good time ! A really very pleasant interview...
Yes he did. There is a shot of him next to Natalie Portman, but his scenes were deleted. You can barely see him. But he is there alright. Try this link www.hollywood.com/news/movies/46173878/hobbit-star-richard-armitage-recalls-his-time-on-star-wars-phantom-menace-set?page=all And you can also google him by using keyword Richard Armitage in Star Wars.
The music in the background is killing me!! I only want to hear HIM-not background music. OK during times with scenes showing but NOT throughout please.....
Now that this bustle(which I believe he was not that comfortable with) is behind him, he is of course more serene, even though he is a naturally calm person starting with.
I sooo want to watch Richard Armitage and Daniel Radcliffe in a movie together. Maybe they could play father and son or of some relation. They're too much alike in the looks department for this not to happen one day!
@ohevshalomel I've heard a few (one or two with Richard, and other celebs also) but I think that was coz the interviewers were just immature, gushy fools. On the whole, we're actually pretty good :)
Good interview. The host wasn't rude or loud and let him speak until he'd finished. It must be refreshing to be allowed just to chat. Some of the interviewers seemed like complete idiots. The best up until this one was the interview by the Wall Street Journal.
Do Australians usually conduct bad interviews? Honestly, I'm an American, so it's not like I watch Aussie television all the time (I hardly ever watch television, period.)
