Sometimes autistic people are also some kind of a savant and I have heard Kodi described as a music savant. Since he's blind his sense of hearing is more acute and I think he can perfectly reproduce what he's heard other singers do.
This is true. Since seeing this for the first time a few days after it happened, I looked more in to Kodi. He is also a prodigy, for having perfect pitch. His mom has also said somewhere, can't remember where I saw her commenting on it, but he will listen to a song one time and can play the song perfectly on piano, and also have the pitch perfect. He adds his runs and such later, and learns the words last actually. A true legend in the making.
It’s calle savant syndrome and is rare. There are regular savants, of course, but this syndrome describes only those who have some kind of mental disorder and show exceptional ability in something. In this case, Kodi has an exceptional talent for music
Autistic people are perfectionist.thats why when theyre engaged into something like playing musical instruments,it will always sound perfect like derek paravicini, hes a great pianist with autistism.
Hello Julie. Just wanted to point out about the expression of natural talent that many of us, me included in the past.. use. To focus on just simple things like getting dressed must require much more focused energy than for a regular person. Essentially, the brain works by recognizing patterns and executing them. Combining patterns leads to creativity. Talent is essentially, a combination of patterns. So it's a lot of focused, hard work. So... essentially, it's nothing natural, any human can reach similar performance levels, but it just requires more work for some and less for others... but its still hard work.
He is a musical savant. He is one of 25 in the world. He began playing piano at age three. He plays five instruments. His voice is amazing as well. His speaking skills aren’t nearly as developed. He did an interview along with his mom on ET (Entertainment Tonight). It is so obvious in that interview just how extensive his autism is. His parents deserve a LOT of credit for all they have done to help him pursue his music!
I appreciate how his runs are easy listening, not vocal gymnastics that I think sometimes can detract from the tone, and atmosphere of the song. I think Kodi is a really gifted musician and singer...just the right amount of sweetness, melancholy and flight...,gives me chills and made me shed a few tears. I hope he flourishes and that we will hear a lot more from him. I’m sure we will! He’s such a buoyant person, and then when he performs, I’m transfixed. Go Kodi!❤️
This made me ball my eyes out 😭😭😭 Especially when he started crying when he got the buzzer 😭😭😭 I didn't expect to feel this emotional 😞 I didn't expect this at all. His talent His passion and his Confidence 😍🤩😍😍🤩
Wonderful reaction. Kodi is phenomenal and a voice for so many without a voice 💕 P.S. my son has Williams Syndrome and Autism and is great with shapes and puts together packages for disaster relief. He is my world.
What people don't really know about Kodi is he is classified as something called a "prodigious musical savant", meaning his singing is pitch perfect and he can repeat a song after listening to it once or twice. There's only a handful of people in the whole world with that same ability.
His eye's went huge, well my eye's went huge when he started singing...they about fell out of my head! He knows his voice and his melisma is different from anything I've heard, it really is beautiful! That wasn't a performance that was an experience, that truly was extraordinary! Bless you Kodi!! 👏👏👏
Love your reaction. Kodi is a musical prodigious savant. Just visit his website. Here is an excerpt about him. "Kodi is one of only approximately 25 in the world today who possess his extraordinary abilities. Kodi's amazing gift lies within his musical expression, perfect pitch, and passion for all forms of music. Kodi has an audio photographic memory, in which he can recall music he hears after just one listen."
I've been all over these kodi lee videos because he's SO amazing and it's so genuine to see these reactions, so I stumbled across your channel due to him. I have to say your break down of his talent is IMPECCABLE and absolutely amazing. Well done, sir.
Hi Coach, Love your analysis of Kodi singing. You inputs educate us on how really hard it is to sing if you are not properly trained. Kodi voice is impressive in that he is able to sing with a teardrop. The song is also perfect for him. The crescendo is the " When my life if over, remember that we were together". This verse reminds us of our mortality. The beautiful lyrics and along with Kodi's voice move us to tears. It is really ironic that an Autistic young man who has problems in expressing his emotions is able to communicate so flawlessly with his singing. We can feel the emotions. Thank you coach, Leon Russell, and Kodi for this performance
Kodi is back! He has written his own songs and has performed two absolute bangers on AGT 2024 Fantasy League. The first one called Change is straight 🔥🔥🔥.
This is the best reaction and analysis I've seen. It feels so satisfying to hear someone can not only love it, but understand what it is we're all loving so much. I often think the greats tone and phrasing is inside of them and can't really be taught... and such talent springing out of someone just shows the incredible beauty of this world, and once in a great while, the beauty is witnessed and not just glorifying this world alone in the middle of the deepest rain forest, but on a silly tv show and we all get to bask in that beauty and revel in it... and play it over and over and cry from the joy of it.
I've watched dozens of these Kodi Lee react videos because he is singing a favorite song of mine. Yours was about the 10th one I watched and one of the few I gave a like. So, after watching a couple dozen more after viewing yours I had to come back to comment. I wanted to thank you for not only giving us entertainment but you actually taught me something new. You gave me, a musically challenged person, more info in this one video than I've gotten from all the music videos I've watched on youtube. I am especially grateful for the vibrato description. Thanks for helping me meet my goal of learning something new everyday :-)
Your voice is heaven. Aside from your successful singing and teaching career, you should make relaxation/deep trance tapes to help people take themselves down from a place of stress to a place of their own peace. God gave you that kind of voice to sing people to a deeper place. I'd buy a hundred of those tapes for me and everyone I know. God bless you.
Music. The universal language. Its amazing how this guys music style. Makes everyone feel the same. It shows that we can all cross boundaries. We all felt the same thing. We all forgot everything we were doing or thinking. We can all grow together threw music is a great start. Its a fantastic lesson on how we should all be united. Awesome stuff Mr Kody
His runs and notes are so easy sounding and just so on point, he does not sound strained AT ALL, he sounded very comfortable. And his notes are so on point, there’s one point in he song he sounds almost too perfect and started sounding auto tuned, but amazing, I hope to see more out of him like this
People that keeps saying he got the golden buzzer because of his disabilities needs to see your video, me as well wasn’t expecting much from him before he started singing, his voice is beautiful tone wise and everything, mind browned.
I love your reaction and how you broke down/analyzed all of your favorite parts from Kodi’s performance! Your break down explained why his performance gave me the happy chills/goosebumps.
There's nothing wrong with crying to something when it's so beautiful it fills your heart and soul up with a love and hope for all humankind. We all have our differences, but something like this melts them away and allows us to collectively dream for a better tomorrow. This is indisputable proof there is hope for humanity yet. People like Kodi Lee are the people who make this world a better place.
I got so emotional apart from the fact that he has disabilities he's so talented. I love his mom so much not because Kodi is talented but because I have a child living with cerebral palsy and I know what my wife go through taking care of her. Kodi makes me cry so much when I listen to him sing, he gave me reason to wanna give the best to my baby girl who's also physically challenged. I can't stop crying each time I watch it. Love you so much Kodi, thanks for sharing your moment. God bless you dear. 😢
Kodi Lee is amazing. Every time I watch this video, I cry. It makes my heart so happy for him. My nephew is autistic and watches the video over and over. Thank you for you.❤️
Thanks. First time viewer. Thought you did a great critique of his voice. I think people support him because of his strength in the face of adversity but they live him because his voice is the real deal
Lmfao 25 in the world? You can’t count every single person who can do this, and it’s not as rare as you may think. Also, I’m curious what your source is (please tell me). Especially for ‘songs on the radio’ which are far simpler than some difficult classical pieces that masters can replicate.
He's a student of my friend!!! Yiyi Ku Piano Studio~ he also has his own YT channel! I watch him in lessons sometimes, he plays classical music too! he's SOOOO amazing!!!
I had the same reaction sir, its amazing how music connect people together. Kodi is really special i have a son who is also autistic and like kodi's mom im so proud of my son. This is the best reaction i have seen so far, with so much details. Thank you for sharing
I watch the video of his performance, or solo stuff from his page every morning for inspiration and to put happy tears down my cheeks, and a smile on my face. His voice is so beautiful... Kodi is a true gift to the world!!! As you said, despite his disabilities, he is so talented and I hope he now will get to live his life of music and love in the light for all to see!! I love seeing him so happy
Kodi has a very real chance of winning the competition, although it really won't matter that much considering how much support he's getting from around the globe since his audition. I'm positive he'll get a lot of great performance and recording opportunities regardless 👍👍👍❤❤
@@vex6213 Absolutely! Just think about this. Kodi had no more than 2 or 3k subscribers to his channel prior to the audition. The last time I checked it was 96k I believe. That doesn't just happen. He is getting a very serious following all around the world right now
And you are right he one. He's the big winner and we all felt in some same way too after he Kidi performed. This YT teacher's reaction were one of the Best.
To clear up for anyone who is wondering how he is able to sing so well when he has difficulty speaking, it is because the part of the human brain that formulates thoughts and puts them into words is different from the part that is responsible for memorizing lyrics.
Kodi can also play more than six instruments. He's a savant, musically. He's a musical genius and is pitch perfect. His face and reactions are not always what he is feeling. His mom says he can't always communicate when he is in danger and laughs randomly at times.
omg I've listened to that performance so many times and sometimes my eyes still water up. it evokes so much emotion its unbelievable. loved the reaction

Wonderfull comments on his singing. About his oiano playing level, I can only suggest you to check his youtube channel... he has a video where he plays a impromptu (op. 90 n°2) of shubert - classical composer of the 19th century, one of the "romantic" composers with brahms, shumann and liszt - and all i can tell you is that he's close to be as good as a nikita magalov or a francesco piemontesi.
Brand new subscriber! I so appreciated your reaction (I had goosebumps too) and explaining why Kodi is such an amazing singer. I can't wait to hear much much more of him and how he can make our favorite songs even better. Bless You!
The brain processes speech in a different part of the brain than singing. There are a few other famous singers who have speech impediments that can sing with perfect vocals and diction. It’s all a brilliant mysterious wonderment to take in the range and fullness of Kodi’s performance. He has an insane blend of gospel, blues, with r and b flavors. Perfection.
@6:54...so awkward...Watching Simon hug a human is evidence that he is not from this world. I can't make up my mind...is he a Vulcan or living tissue over a metal endoskeleton?
You should react to Daneliya Tuleshova performance on AGT Quarter finals - Sign of the Times !!! Can't wait to see her this week in the Semifinals!!! She is amazing !!! She will win AGT 2020 🎤
Great thing about Kodi is, we know who he is now...can't wait for the live shows and beyond. Talent like his doesn't fade away. Loved your reaction and built in lesson too😃
This is worth to watch..that's why i didn't hesitate to request that to you..God never leave him empty, he put too much talent to this man..despite the situation life still beautiful..

Yea, you commented on Simon's face, but we cant even see Kodi, that's how small you put this video and how BIG you are, all we see is your face.. my goodness
To be hugged and especially blind and autistic people because they can’t see you coming up to hug you and it kind of sockets them and can they can have a panic attack. Just think a bunch of people running up to him and hugging and patting him on the back and shoulders not being able to see them coming up to him to do that and he is so calm and happy especially when Simon comes up to talk to him . He really likes Simon.
Codie is a savant genius in music which is amazing when you realize that he is blind and autistic . I was blown away when I realized when he was singing and playing the piano .
