We've been working closely with a former F2 driver and race-winner 👇
That guy is Benjamin Bailly, and he knows exactly how to be fast in a real racecar and in the sim.
Today, he's working as a driver coach, helping numerous aspiring talents in different series.
And now he's gonna be your driving coach as well! 🙌
In this episode, we'll dive into trail braking, braking markers, brake balance and weight transfer. When you master these techniques, you will see a significant improvement in your lap times!

Tbh I know about trail braking but a visual example showing the pedal inputs would help with this kind of demonstration. Useful video nonetheless :)

Yeah, they should have the brake-speeder info shown, its easy to see in the game when he is not turning, but when we needed it the most, it wasnt visible.

Hello guys, because we're on the topic of brakes: will it in the future be possible to set the brake pressure in the software not only via the pedal but also in percent? The brake pressure thing is ok and maybe it's just me. But with the F3 vehicles in IRacing, for example, I don't get enough pressure in the software to have a comfortable feeling on the brakes while driving. Therefore it would be great if we could set it manually. If possible, not just via the software but also while driving via the steering wheel. Thank you for your great work!

ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z3QS69n0psc.htmlsi=9LuNdD5bJsBq62g- Try check this video for Iracing it might help you to brake very hard and get a better feeling with tweaking the value in the .joy file. Specially with the F3 it is easy to brake too hard and lock up. Hope it helps.

Max Verstappen disproves the core thesis of this video that "you find a lot of lap time in braking more than in minimum speed into the corner" with Max's earlier and less harsh braking style than anyone else on the F1 grid.
@BaillyDriverDevelopment
@BaillyDriverDevelopment 9 месяцев назад
Hello @DrR1pper , You are probably right when it comes to an F3 car like the one Max drove in his 1st year of car racing or an F1 with a massive amount of downforce. There you can brake more smooth to keep the balance more neutral (avoid snap oversteer) and take the advantage of the downforce but in medium and fast corners only. In slow corners the braking and exit speed will still be the key to go fast as the downforce is not so effective anymore. Max’s case is very specific too - many other drivers struggle with the RedBull car as it is set with a lot of front grip but Max has an amazing capacity to manage the rear oversteer. This video is more in general for all types of cars. All the teams/engineers I am working with today are working in the same way as I explain in the video and always say that the minimum speed doesn’t matter. It is all about entry and exit. Feel free to check my Instagram/facebook to see the drivers and teams I am and have been working with. Hope this helps to understand the difference. It actually could be a great idea of a future video where I could explain it in more detail. Best regards Bailly Driver Development

Well, 99.99% of us aren't Max so, this theory is indeed the best for "most" of us.
@DrR1pper
@DrR1pper 9 месяцев назад
@@thomas6063 the “theory” is causing you to make setup changes that drive you in the direction of the theory and this is limiting your potential. What must you do when you want to brake later? Increase the rear grip to front grip ratio (either by Aero and/or mechanically). But this is a dead end of improvement because it literally leads to less grip (look up “tyre load sensitivity”). Proof: rank order fastest to slowest driver in the f1 grip by understeer level. Max has much less understeer than Lewis and Lewis has a bit less than Fernando. Max is a good deal quicker than Lewis and Lewis is a bit quicker than Fernando (all else being equal and allowing the driver to have a setup style to their preference). All three of these drivers can drive a car with their their setup preference to the same level of closeness of their cars respective limit. The difference is the limit of the car is changed quite a bit with the setup preference. The shoe fits. Physics has the final say on everything.

This video is another proof why triples are questionable. The graphical wheel is lagging behind the real rotation and even there are worse examples, it must be north of 30 ms because if I stream to my Pico 4 it's better in sync and has nothing to do with the wheel. I saw this with a SC2 Pro and others as well and I never had that with any of the three 49" Samsung displays I've owned so far even including TrackIR. They are always perfectly in sync no matter how fast I wiggle the wheel, but I never saw any triple-setup on RU-vid in sync, so this latency is not avoidable I guess.
@drchtct
@drchtct 9 месяцев назад
response time has absolutely nothing to do with the amount of screens you use, zero.
@Leynad778
@Leynad778 9 месяцев назад
@@drchtct If you graphical wheel is not in sync with your motion you have latency or whatever you want to call it. "Response time" is usually used for switching pixels. I know the difference between 1 and 4 ms from my former displays and has nothing to do with this graphical lag because you can't see the difference with this example. 4 ms is not as smooth as 1 ms and looks like the framerates are lower even if both are the same. If your graphical wheel lags obvious behind the true rotation like in this case, I guess the lag is minimum 60 ms, because that's how much it needs to see it. With the Pico 4 and Virtual Desktop I can't see the lag and it is around 40 ms, so probably triple digits with triples.
@drchtct
@drchtct 9 месяцев назад
@@Leynad778 Triples are just three monitors directly connected to your GPU, there's no extra latency. For your GPU it's just more pixels to push, nothing else. Many, especially older and VA displays, displays have way higher response times than 4ms. Look up Rtings test pages and look under "Motion", don't just believe the marketing shit which uses the lowest response time rather than the more relevant average response times. As an example, the often used Samsung Odyssey G5 C27G55T has response times of 20-50ms at max refresh rate, a noticable delay on the screen. The Odyssey G3 is even worse, response times of 30-60ms. If you use even worse panels with VA technology from older generations, or older TVs that didn't come with gaming modes onboard, you will have even more input lag. In 99% of cases high input lag is the fault of old or really bad monitors or stuff like Vsync tuned on. Triple monitors are not a factor.
