Thank you! Just received a Singer Patchwork machine for X-mas and trying to teach myself how to quilt. This advise and example is most definitely going to be a huge help with all my future quilting. I don’t care for the 1/4 inch foot that came with this machine as it scrunches the jelly roll stripes that don’t have straight edges, which is the vast majority of them.. 😊

If you were wondering why I subscribed to your channel, it was because it didnt want that corner to be lonely. And I also love your nailpolish. (and the How to Scant Quarter was pretty nice also.)

Nice explanation of how to keep the feature fabrics in proper order, plus all the other potential problem areas. As a pattern tester, I enjoyed this pattern immensely!

Here's another consideration for sashing your blocks: Keep the sashing length intact, yet cut to the width that you need. Sew your blocks to the sashing leaving 1/4" space between. Cut to length with your block after you press open. Benefits: It allows for faster prep (defers small piece cutting to when pieces are trimmed). It also allows for faster and more accurate piecing: it eliminates the starting and stopping reduces wandering at the tail end and does not require precision in piecing the blocks (lining up top/bottom. It's a preference (certainly not a requirement). I have better outcomes.
