The inside of the shoes may be stripped where the grub screws hold the hub, so it's spinning inside. This video makes me want to sell my Kyosho GT cars for a Serpent now. You Rock Man !!!
I suspect a issue with the one way bearing. But will probably end up in replacing the bearing and clutch. What's wrong with your Kyosho? They are good cars or no ? Thanks for watching bro. Appreciate the comment 👊
The Kyosho is a good car too, it's just getting old, and the plastic parts are getting brittle after 19 years, so every time I bump the curb, something breaks. I used to bump the curbs hardcore without any issues, now it's acting delicate. I guess I could just replace the shock tower for $bucks and be done with it... It's just the grass is all ways greener on the other side. LOL@@kings-racing
Thanks Fonzie. Yeah, specially if you buy a used car. We will get the problem sorted out.... I hope. If it does shift good the performance is really good. Flying indeed. Appreciate the comment 👍 Thanks for watching 👊
The gearbox clutch will be in 2nd speed only if it is engaged with 2nd speed. It will not slip in 2nd speed. If the 2nd speed fails to drive , the 1st speed it will be connected. What is slipping is the engine clutch.
@@MikeKing-t9i make sure the grub screws are tight against the barrel. I tightened them to the point it just opens the shoes. After that the free spinning of the second gear clutch was solved
Thank you Sir. I'm not hung up on the numbers, but certainly appreciate all the subscribers. It's nice when a lot of people enjoy the content and have Interaction on the channel. Appreciate the comment. Thanks for watching
That’s exactly what happened to me bro on my Eden sprint. It’s the second gear grub screws won’t screw down enough to engage second gear. You can see it in my first video of the Eden sprint pops out of gear in second very frustrating just check it and it’ll be sweet great job Car sounds beautiful🤜🇦🇺💯💥
Thanks bro, i will check it out. Got the screws that weren't in there at first a bit tighter and loosened the timing screws half a turn more Now find the time to do a third test. Appreciate the comment bro 👍 Thanks for watching 👊
@@kings-racing definitely bro ,have you ever seen a Kabuto smj 21 xb2 motor from Japan? It’s supposed to be a os made motor? I got one second hand an can’t believe how good it is? Cheers bro
Yes sir. Got her ready for a third test. Hopefully these shoes haven't got to much wear due the first tests. Otherwise i need new ones Thanks for watching Serial 👊
It needs to be perfect before i hit the track. So one more test and if that fails ordering new parts. Thanks for watching brother. Appreciate the comment 👊
If you greased that O-way bearing ,then that might be your problem ,O-way bearings & grease do not get along ,it will cause slippage on the shaft an not allow the O-way to bite!
With the first test there were no grub screws in the clutch. Second test i had them in there, but apparently not tight enough. Check out my latest vid. The clutch is a lot better. I did use oil on the bearings, but it's not consistent. Will need to check again because i used grease on the second gear and that might be also on the bearing or shaft now. Thanks for the comment. Appreciate the input.
Slipping 1st oneway bearing. Most of the time cleaning it and lubricating with one drop very thin oil (oneway oil) it helps but most of the time it is the oneway bearing. You can find SKF on Amazon and Ebay if you know how to press them out of the 1st gear adapter. A new adapter wil cost you 10 times the bearing. And to be honest, it is wise to change the shaft when changing the bearing but as this thing is almost new, I think it is only the bearing.
I cleaned the oneway bearing and oiled it. Took the clutch apart again and saw there was plastic between the barrel and the grub screw. These screws weren't in there the first test. Comes with a used car i guess.. The second test i had screws in there but apparently there was plastic in between so i thought they were tight. Removed it Now tightened them to the point it just opens the shoes a bit. Did a test today and everything was fine. No slipping and free spinning anymore. I will be uploading a video of the test soon. Only need to adjust the shifting point a bit
@@kings-racing The issue you had is common with a 2 speed and is always a slipping oneway on the 1st gear. Yes, the small grubscrews are not needed with a new 2 speed setup, the 2 shoes have just the right amount of play. I believe the manual does not show grubscrews as well. When the play becomes to big the shifting into 2nd gear will not be solid but it will give some up and down shifting until it stays put in 2nd gear..When using the grubscrew, screw it that far the shoe is touching the 2nd gear adapter and then screw it back 1/4 turn so it spins free. Also important is that you keep the screws on the side for the shifting point as equal as possible.
It’s tough when trying to figure out an issue some times. - You could tell on the first couple passes that something was not right when shifting into second. - My brain says it may be a slipping 1st gear one way (bearing or shaft issues) but, not likely since it sounds like it wants to shift. Or the 2nd gear clutch may need to be adjusted to allow it to open a bit more when it engages. Shoe Gap could be correct but, still needs to open a bit more to shift properly? - Let us know what you find out. The car looks and sounds great‼️ Thanks for the vid 🩷
Yeah, specially if you have no experience with that. At higher speed i would say it's the second gear clutch that slips. At lower speed the one way bearing that doesn't hook up . I turned the screw that wasn't in there are first a bit tighter and loosened the timing screw half a turn. It's five turns out. Now find the time to do a third test. I will keep you guys posted Appreciate the comment 👍 Thanks for watching 👊
Im finding clutches for the on road cars are kinda tricky..it looks cold as polar bear balls out there ..but the engine sound great with that nova rossi pipe and header ..love the content
Yes it is. Specially if you have no experience with that. It was so cold the polar bears shit icecubs lol The corsatec with the novarossi performs pretty good. Appreciate the comment bro👍 Thanks for watching 👊
The grub screws were not good against the barrel. So when the clutch engages the centre part is slipping. The third test was a lot better on the clutch but the oneway bearing was slipping a bit. Cleaned everything again and used transmission fluid on the bearing. Gonna test it again soon Thanks for watching 👊
