I have noticed on my filter change & Mass air flow clean out (Yesterday) how restrictive those darn mess type filters are, More of a bottle neck for the air intake, no wonder the Patrol y61 (zd30) is so darn slow amongst other issue of course.
Ok everything is ordered from Jacar and silicone chip Inc. the Dec issue magazine, ruddy expensive modifier all up, but, limp mode is annoying the crapp out of me. Now just waiting for it to all arrive. Hopefully I wont burn the place down or electrocute myself lol, again thanks for your help sofar and ill keep you posted, oh I'll study the magazine but I still may need some help learning how to use it if possible, maybe some tip's on where you have your settings adjusted to cheers PjB
The silicone chip unit is cheaper overall than the earlier JayCar unit as there were several components needing to be built, this is a self contained unit with its own built in programmer. Good luck with it, my advice is read the instructions several times and be ahead, considering the later programming requirements, above all do it slowly with great thought.
well I've got it mostly built but im stumped as to how the lcd module sits in place, cant figure out whether the sil pins go in under the main pcb and then trimmed or on top hmm.
Ok, where did you get the cobra from? Oh still planning on getting the Automotive sensor modifier, car still goes into limp mode every now and then, just waiting for the time to do it.
Cool, I bought mine through Western Filters a few years ago www.westernfilters.net.au/Donaldson-rubber-90-cobra-Adaptor-diam-a-76-mm-3-b-76mm-p547694/ you may be able to pick one up on EBay as well. The Silicone Chip MAFv modifier is the only one available now, but it is still not available in kit form to my knowledge, I do have a parts list if your interested, 99% of the bits are available through JayCar but the board and eprom need to be bought from Silicone Chip.
I don't have a vid but I could do something with pics similar to the end of this I suppose, I have the pics on file, leave it with me and I'll get back to you.
Thanks, doing a trip soon that should show up any improvements, but I think they will be subtle seeing as I had already modified the previous lid, doing this straight off (as long as you have limp under control) would make a significant difference when used with 3" to the turbo.
