The terror in Daniel’s eyes when he sees the Cobra Kai sign is amazing. Dude relived his trauma all over again in that moment.

I like how this series makes Johnny into a protagonist while not turning Daniel into an Antagonist

Johnny making Miguel do jobs because he is lazy and pretending they're for training opposed to Miyagi doing them for training is a funny contrast

I think my favorite part about this series so far is that neither Daniel nor Johnny are being framed as "bad guys." All you see are two adults who are struggling with the issues of adult life, albeit from different angles.

The PTSD on Daniels face is PRICELESS!

Anybody else notice that once sensei Lawrence broke Miguel's inhaler, Miguel never had asthma again?

Love the direction they took this, and it wouldnt have worked any other way. Well written, and better than almost any series on traditional network TV.

This is the only modern show I can literally watch over and over again. Love it!

Johnny Lawrence is the anti-hero we deserve. Seriously love this show!

To me the best part about the show is even though Johny is not the best, he gets better and better during the show because of Miguel. It was like Johny took some responsibility in his life and then Miguel started to change Johny for good

Holy crap this show is sooo good (in youtube red's standards) I have always assumed this show is just a creed rif off where Larusso is now an old man and can't do karate anymore so he picks a new heir to carry the karate kid legacy Didn't know it was actually about the villain in the first movie now being the protagonist and find redemption This show is way too good to be in youtube red

If Johnny took the time to explain that he was defending the other kid from kyler this whole series wound have ended right here. I mean he’s literally in the other room during the convo at 24:15. That said, great show

Nice that Daniel-san adhered to Mr. Miyagi's unforgettable teachings about balance and focus, however he was to encounter that Mr. Lawrence's Cobra Kai's venom perhaps backboned the serious harshness about karate and survival!!!

Normally classics are destroyed when they try to bring them back.....This one is ON IT!! Love it!

Man! I'm super late but this show is Everything I needed. Top to bottom it brings nostalgia, humor and purpose. Martial arts especially the traditional arts is a way of life. The lessons reach you mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Just as the show does. BRAVO 👏👏👏!

I find it interesting the school could reach johnny at the dojo, presumably it's the same as his home phone, so he would also get calls about the dojo at home

I hope Pat Morita knows what an impact he had on so many lives. Most actors out there grinding it out would give their eye-tooth for just one memorable role like that.

This is not bad at all. Johnny is speaking my language. Kids today need some 80's tough love.

Man it's such an unimportant and normal show but I see the emotions in it and it's quite interesting to see how he grew up and they both went different ways. It's awesome that he stuck to his morals

I've never watched the movies. Just being aware of it, and the show too. But this is shockingly solid. Nostalgia with a right dose of fresh. I'm genuinely impressed and rooting for the "bad" guy too. Go Cobra :) 3rd ep now.

Very interesting character development. I like how they've mixed things up. Johnny is mentoring someone who was bullied, Daniel holds court with the bully in his house. This should be an intriguing dynamic.

24:20 this is why I love the show. Daniel hates Johnny. Yet when Johnny tells Daniel his daughter is hanging out with bullies, he believes him. Because Daniel knows Johnny wouldn’t lie about something like that. Same goes for the later episode when Johnny says that his daughter crashed into his car (it was her friends) and the mother at least does the smart thing of challenging her daughter hoping Johnny is wrong, but knowing that an accusation has been made and she needs to address it. It’s a small touch to the characters. But it makes them feel like they are smart well rounded characters.

episodes and I am already hooked on this show. I pretty much love contrast in series and Cobra Kai so far has shown a lot of that. The contrast between generations (Johnny and Daniel vs. Miguel and Sam) and the contrast between Johnny as a 'Sensei' and as a 'loser' is pretty funny. In the first episode I thought Daniel was now the bad guy. That was Johnny's POV only. This episode shows a little of Daniel's POV and it reminded me how there are no bad guys or good guys completely, just different perspectives. Their rivalry until this episode is pretty much clear and I am hyped about next episodes. Let's see then.

All 5 of cobra kai series are really brilliant, series 1 will be 5 years next year in 2023. Hope they make series 6 after a big cliffhanger at the end of episode 10 series 5. Love the film trilogy and series.

I like how they both smile at the end. They both need this rivalry.

10/10 the best show i've seen in ages.

Just goes to show...doesn't matter if you take your losses early (Daniel) or late (Johnny), they still haunt you. Powerful.
