my cobratec fsx 3 was deploying the same way when i bought it so it sat in my drawer for 2 years. 3 months ago i decided to inspect the knife and i deep cleaned it and properly oiled it and now 0 failures and it's the best knife i own. on the website i believe they tell you to properly oil it upon receiving it
The "Milwaukee Fastback" is my go to and you definitely can't beat it for the price, around $9 for a utility knife!!! Had mine now for 7 years and no problems. I've bought several of them since to stash around the house, garage, and car etc etc...
I Just wiggle tested everyone of my OTF Knives including my Two $500 Microtechs a $375 Benchmade infidel, Hogue and both Cobratecs And I was able to get them all to Fail to open or close while Shaking them. So I’m thinking that it must be pretty normal of all OTF knives. NOT JUST COBRATEC 🐍
They must have made some internal upgrades because the one I bought today I can't get it to misfire unless the blade hits something coming out. My blade deploys far faster and harder than yours.
I think you may want to learn more about knives before you go on your rant. I have both the Tanto blade and the Dagger blade and the dagger blade is less sharp than the tanto. Most of that is due to the angle of the sharpening with the Tanto blade being at 20 to 22 degrees and a working blade such as the dagger is sharpened at 25 to 30 degrees. Even when I sharpen the dagger blade, it does not get as sharp as the tanto blade simply due to the angle I sharpen the dagger at.
Like i said the knife was dull AF. Even the manufacturer admitted that after seeing a video I sent them showing how the knife could not even cut through paper. I think you may want to pay more attention to the videos you watch before making useless comment on them.
Yes. There was one sharp spot on the knife and when it came in contact with the paper it would cut through but one side had no sharp spot at all. I do a paper cut test with all my knives and never had a problem before.
I've bought three in the 30 to $60 range off Amazon with up to 4-hour delivery!! that are just as good. there's nothing special there. I look at those prices and say, ""are you kidding cobratec?" owning a OTF knife is like getting a dog from the pound. You got to figure it out and learn what it needs and what its issues are. and yours needs to probably be taken apart, cleaned, and barely lubricated. and good luck sharpening that blade you chose. those Dagger blades you'll never get that as sharp as a plain old single edge. I sharpen knives for other people as a sideline business. I hate it when somebody brings a blade to me like that. when I get done I like to whittle a hair! they are just too broad to get to where I call them sharp. so you got yourself a hundred and 50 dollar fidget spinner, that a twelve-year-old would enjoy.
I know this is not a knife, and I know you didn't buy it for self-defense. With that said a otf knife is a tacticle defense knife the way it miss fires with movement is a no go for me
Cobratechs are garbage, as you demonstrated, (frequent misfiring is not “normal”, nor acceptable). So, that’s ~$135 down the drain. The least expensive OTF that’s worth a dayum is the Kershaw Livewire, (~$230). Buy once; cry once.
@@barkoartstudio3096 still for the price you can’t go wrong. And try cleaning the inside of the knife if you’re getting weak ejection. I just filled the inside of the knife with gun oil then let it drip out. That fixed my ejection problem with my Microtech
