@@evinthedastard5754 "Can a sister help a brother out?" That's the only line I remember from that show. When Cory falls in a fountain and a nun walks by
I love how Pan can find legitimately interesting and insightful things to say about a show, no matter how bad it is. No joke, he's a legitimate professional. Any other schmuck would have just called it dog poop for 15 minutes.
Pan turned a SpongeBob rip off into a cosmic horror story on the level of sheer terror the likes only known in Warhammer 40k. A being that creates lesser beings who sole purpose is to suffer for his amusement.
+AnotherGaze but Doraemon has flaws and realizes when he fucks up, Coconut Fred, on the other hand, truly is amoral and emotionless besides his perpetual grin and overly-optimistic demeanor
Mr. TeM I haven't mentioned anything about characterization, just power, but yeah, that's the reason why doraemon is one of the longest shows ever. Everyone loves that blue cat.
Anyone want to mention that Rob Paulsen also voiced Bubsy Bobcat? Anyone? No? Alright, then I will. Rob Paulsen voiced Bubsy freaking Bobcat. Bless that poor man's soul. He didn't know what he was doing
Didn't Jim once somehow get Hatsune Mitku on his show even though she's a fictional character? I wonder how he did that. He would practically have to create a real-world replica, which means.... Ohhhh god!!! Jim Motherfucking Sterling Son actually WAS Fred all along!!!
Honestly, Coconut Fred's a little bit of a guilty pleasure for me, because I kinda like the art, but I don't deny at all that the show is atrocious. Also, I'm liking the new animations and set designs! Nice job!
Guilty pleasure... is a good way to describe it. I like the art as well, but I also enjoy the disturbing weirdness of it all. Maybe I'm fucked in the head, but there's some really good dark humor in this show.
this almost sounds like the synopsis of a cult classic serialist horror parody of spongebob show things. like, the main character is all super hyper, but he ALSO created all life and the people on the island that he created fear him like the toys of a child? bro. AND he has one of those "this is supposed to be a cute design but it's actually horrible beyond all believe."
Billy Barnett Angry and bitchy aren't the same thing though. I'm subscribed to him as well, I like most of his. But I don't see him as that good of a critic. To me, he has a problem with explaining why he thinks something is really good or really bad. I can recall multiple episodes of his where his entire argument boils down to "It's just good."
Stand User: 「Coconut Fred」 Stand: 「SHAKE YOUR COCONUTS」 Power - A Speed - B Range - C Durability - A Precision - C Potential - A Ability: Absolute Will The user can grab hold of creation and twist, bend, sculpt, and re-sculpt it into whatever form that they desire or can imagine.
I like to think that Rob Paulsen did all of his lines for those 13 episodes, went home, and when he finally saw the first episode, he took off his glasses, fell on the floor, and between his tears, wondered what he had done to deserve this.
He's a reviewer. That's it. Doesn't mean he has some sort of underlying psychological problems to the point of taking a medication just because he gets angry in a review. Besides, he's not as angry anymore, nor is he a complete lunatic like he was back then. Stop acting like they're current events.
I actually enjoy watching TheMysteriousMrEnter and his content. Since when was it such a hissy fit to appreciate one critical reviewer more than the other?
When you didn't have cable, it became a necessity as a kid. I would wake up at 7 AM on Saturdays because I was afraid of missing Yugioh. I hated it on CN, loved it on the WB. It beat the antique roadshow
I did all the time. I would go to bed whenever, wake up super early, and then fight through the exhaustion and the bullshit animal show with that fucking cockatoo just to see the new shows every week! Now, stuff like that is super impractical but, back then, you had to put the fucking work in if you wanted to catch the newest Pokemon episode! Miss it, and you'd be fucked until it eventually washed up somewhere on Cartoon Network maybe eventually or in a video store. What happened to Butterfree? Who knows! Fuck you! Ask your fucking friends or be forced to live with the guilt that you're a lazy piece of shit!!!
You know the funny thing? I actually kind of like the show, and I fully acknowledge most of the criticism I've heard against it as valid. They weren't even new revelations to me, I always knew them to be true. Maybe you should view the show as Fred being a force of God and everyone scared, trying to keep him appeased. Bing doesn't really want to be part of Fred's antics, he just goes along with them because he knows it's futile to turn him down, Fred refuses to take no for an answer. It's not even like he's overriding their decision, it's like he doesn't even comprehend that anyone wouldn't want to participate, "no" does not compute- Fred is incredibly oblivious. When Greenrind hypothetically asked him what he'd do if he was told no, Fred responded (without any apparent self-awareness): "then I'd just keep asking again, and Again, and AGAIN..." The episode when Fred runs a Newspaper, he originally wanted to be a lifeguard, but Greenrind said no and had to distract him with something else to get him to drop it. But then when the Newspaper got out of hand, Greenrind let him be a lifeguard because it would hopefully be less destructive. The damage will come no matter what Greenrind does, he just has to contain it the best he can. Not only is Fred oblivious to the suffering he causes, he doesn't seem to even be aware of his own powers, as far as he knows all these things he causes to happen are things he was just coincidentally thinking of or that he correctly guessed they existed. And to be fair, Fred has no malice whatsoever, he actually tries to be helpful and actually often is- even to issues he didn't cause. Many of the townspeople even acknowledge that, they kind of go with his flow and participate thinking it's fun too. He has been thanked for some of his deeds. Trying to keep a hyperactive oblivious god appeased/admiring this guy who somehow makes the craziest things happen, how is that not an interesting concept? In fact, there's even an anime that has a similar concept. But I won't deny this show's execution could have been better, there are a number of parts even I find annoying- even though I'm in the vast minority of people who actually kind of like the show. We already covered that Bingo goes with it out of the futility of the alternative, Slip and Slide are too dumb to really acknowledge the danger- they just think Fred is fun, Bunga Berry seems indifferent to what Fred causes. We've already covered how Greenrind tries to do damage control- but he doesn't quite resent Fred for it, on the contrary- part of him seems to kind of like Fred, and politically he needs Fred as a scapegoat for whenever anything goes wrong. Wedgie fears him but hasn't acknowledged the futility of denying Fred yet, Butch foolishly hasn't recognized Fred as a valid threat yet despite how many times he's been proven to be, the rest of the townspeople either fear him or somewhat admire him.
Shiro I try to be fair. I hold myself to the same standards I expect others to be held to. If a show has some semblance of quality in it, I expect critics to call attention to its quality aspects rather than allowing them to be drowned out by its faults.
I can’t believe Sephiroth was a Granny Smith apple long before Rick was a pickle! Then after people discovered this secret, he took his anger out on Smash fighters.
@@RebelTaxi if this show is what you seriously consider the worst then you need to watch more cartoons or get a sense of humor. It's not the greatest show ever but it is FAR from the worst. I watched it on YT and saw all the people spamming the creator's channel, who graciously uploaded every episode, and it's just your bottom feeding fanbase posting the same mindless comments over and over again instead of actually watching it and forming their own opinions.
I remember really liking this show as a kid. Even then though, I could tell it was a shameless Spongebob ripoff. I probably wouldn't like it much now as an adult though, and I certainly wouldn't rank it among the worst cartoons ever made. It's got a unique visual style going for it at least. Also, is it just me, or does Coconut Fred sound a lot like Bubsy?
Ok so let me get this straight. a coconut named Fred is playing cloud,a character with a deep, dark backstory to his game and doesn't care about anything? i'm done here but apple sephiroth gets my vote XD (is the perfect character to fit sephiroth's evil and stupidity)
Coconut Fred: Hey sponge, you're like me! Spongebob: You ripped me off, Coconut! Coconut Fred: No I didn't! Spongebob: Yes you did! I saw you shake your head like me!
Coconut Fred has a episode called banana cabana the almost naked animals live in the banana cabana Coconut Fred and almost naked animals are in the same universe confirmed.
Coconut Fred's Fruit Salad Island - Add SpongeBob and The Frutties (A Castilian cartoon from the late 80s and early 90s, with talking fruits) and mix them with crack.
A reference to Simpsons Wrestling and how Ned Flanders was overpowered? I suddenly felt quite a bit smarter for getting that........... but also a bit sadder
Also the only character that I say is passable is the Lemon Wageie because of 2 things 1.i like his sailor style 2.he wants nothing to do with Fred's BULL SHIT
What's funny is that episode of Twilight Zone happened to be on the Decades channel (which you can get without cable depending on your news network) one day and my grandfather was watching it and I sat down and watched it with him. I already knew that Twilight Zone was weird despite never having watched it yet. I also ended up watching that new (and I use that term loosely not actually knowing when it was released) Lone Ranger movie starring Johnny Depp as the Savage (I forget the character's actual name, ugh).
More towards the end, from what I hear, I feel like this is a good premise with a bad execution. Aka, the story from the monster's prospective. Coconut Fred being a god and not knowing right from wrong.
Superman is the most boring character? I agree He's have an emotional side? Sure It's almost impossible for superman to die? Well fuck this character, the danger and excitement hanging on every page or episode just died.
Superman is the man who grew up in a small town and moved to the big city to prove his worth to himself and his family. How does that not draw people in?
+Solemn Howler Because Batman is so much more relatable! He was born in a super rich family, grew up inside a greek tragedy and is now a sheltered man who avoid making friends. Just like us!
No one ever believed me as kid when I told them Coconut Fred had a Final Fantasy VII reference. Mostly because back then I was the only person they knew who played Final Fantasy so they thought I just dreamt of it
The idea of cartoons or comedies taking place in worlds that exist purely to create humorous situations for a celestial audience is incredibly interesting to me. Any gag that pushes the boundaries of what's relatable/down-to-earth and becomes downright absurd, even if just once, reminds the audience that this universe exists entirely for their entertainment. The comparisons to I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream are spot on. AM was an AI built for overseeing war and war alone. It had all the intelligence of a God but could only comprehend anger, fury, and it's own superiority. And the worlds it created, though vast and more complex than any team of humans could have created, were only built for pain and suffering. It was even harmful to itself. The same goes for all the demigods like Coconut Fred. Beings that exist in worlds where humorous acts manifest as assuredly as ice becoming water. Coconut Fred is I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream written by Squidward, because a universe where people who live in a world too small for them have to bend to the will of the Humor gods is his greatest nightmare. IHNMAIMS is a really good story, and a good game too.
