Vanguard has amazing graphics, World at War has amazing gameplay and a much more grittier better atmosphere for portraying the real horrors of war so it’s clear which one id rather play.
@@unlondonbobby3336 true. Ww2 had a cliched story, but at least it wasn’t horrible like vanguard’s where the diverse super soldiers talk about their past while in a cell.
WaW's animations are basically from the 1st installment, but particularly improved for WaW, except some weapons: M1897 from 2nd(3rd) installment for the reload, their fire animation StG44's Empty reload Garand's Mid-reload
@@ChandranPrema123 no,WAW M1897 is still from COD2. In COD3 the character facing the shotty upward, pump at the 5th shell and insert an extra 6th shell so it can be 5+1. And tbh,it is more proper in COD3 rather than in WaW or COD2 because the mag tube can only contains 5 shells
True even COD2,COD UO,WaW player me who liked Vanguard's Campaign it was a serviceable good WW2 Campaign. But ain't COD 2 or WaW it's just a Hybrid of WW2,WaW and COD 2.Its a 7/10 not 9/10 experience like COD 2 or WaW
@@Ajay-dy3xw 1. Activision wouldn't let them 2. developer conflict and disagreement on certain decisions 3. Activision would let them 4. Activision being Activision
I prefer vanguard in terms of graphics and some animation But i prefer WAW in terms of everything it has soul and realism to it unlike vanguard Just look at ppsh in vanguard 4:06 its a prime example of weapons its just lifeless dosent feel like a real weapon at all now look at at WAW one, its literally scratches your ears
Sounds: WaW. Although Vanguard has better sounds on some weapons, the muffled metal sounds on the guns and that MG42 gunshots just kills me. Animations: Vanguard, you know why i chose this. *Tac reloads are still questionable lmfao* Models: Both models has a look of "War-Torn", so i'd say they're looking great. (I'm aware the graphics are VERY different, but still.) Conclusion: its a tie, although Vanguard might have a fun gameplay and all, WaW will always be one of the best, if not THE BEST CoD.
@UCEzldgXAUHliUkeNnBL7--A the story and operators are not realistic and believable atleast how the story portrays itself, some operators are just plain dumb
I love for the DD shotgun in Vanguard, the character doesnt even hold the second live shell in place. Activision...if your reading this, which im highly doubting..if you've established something before, its best to keep it going.
@@playerslayer6923 it did not feel like cod 4 at all. The atmospheer, the shittier guns (in a good, authentic ww2 sorta way) and just the overall feel of the game was what made it its own game.
that’s what i loved about mw2019, the operator misses the magwell on the first try, it’s a small touch that adds so much character. just look at the fennec reload.
See some people unfairly complaining about those being “nostalgic” for World At War so I want to add this. World At War, despite its flaws, will remain an overall better game than Vanguard. The former is a game, a properly good COD. The other is merchandise. Some reload animations are wrong in World At War, such as the bolt-action rifles using a full stripper clip regardless if there’s still rounds in the magazine. Or the ejecting shotgun shell for the Double Barrel after firing. Its sound and graphics quality have also aged a fair bit. But by 2007/08 standards the animations, sounds and graphics were pretty good for their time, and even today the sound design and look/feel of World At War remains rememberable and iconic. Any COD Veteran will freak out if they hear another MP40 knowing that MP40 user is running Juggernaut. Or the soundtrack. The music in this game is amazing. Obviously Vanguard has better graphics and sound quality but overall sound design? No. Music? God no. Inaccurate weapon design, reload animations and other such things? Vanguard has way more, even accounting for it having more weapons. You should expect a newer game to be better than its predecessors in all aspects, and fancy graphics only get you so far. I highly recommend The Act Man’s video on World At War because he explains why it’s a great game far better than I can here. I just hope this allows more people to understand why we rate World At War so highly compared to Modern Warfare 1942 I mean Vanguard.
@@c0rruption775 Chill mate the last line was a joke. But at least World at War added to what COD 4 did in its multiplayer and improved it. Campaign wise they’re very different and obviously you have Zombies.
1:06 I gotta say how I love the db animation in vanguard. As he ejects the shells he cocks one hammer, re adjusts his hand to do the other as he loads the new shells in
It just feels kinda weird seeing these ‘tactical’ reloads for a supposed WW2 game in Vanguard. I’ll always prefer the Workd at War reloads and weapons.
@@cheezyballz personally I feel that vanguard animations are too tacticool esc. WAW guns feel rugged and like actual guns, a complaint I have for a lot of cod is that a lot of guns feel weightless and like toys. WAW fixes this imo by excellent sound design and animations that reinforce it.
@@AustinCDennisyeah put most of the guns in all cod games don’t sound like real guns and the reason is because most of the sounds are simulated or the real shots are edited
@@bedebop3904 no, it really doesn’t, it makes it even more confusing actually. Tactical things were not even around until the late 89s or mid 90s even then wasnt really adopted Uninspired boring NPC like MCs dont seem to function enough to actually work like that.
Animations: CoD Vanguard for obvious reasons. Models: Both of them have good models for their respective time period. Sounds: CoD WaW. Winner: CoD WaW. Since it is way better than Vanguard in all aspects.
sometimes WaW feels more, believable ig? The reloads arent to tactically perfect that it makes it more realistic, like the way the solider fumbles with the mag with the SVT or how he shakes the mag out of the G-43
If you mean in vanguard, yeah. If you mean irl? Hell no. This is actually one of the things WaW got spot on. The general cycling sounds on the bolt action rifles in WaW are ALMOST a dated 1 to 1 on the real guns, save for the distinct "cling" you would hear as the empty shell is popped out on a real gun.
i miss the good ol days where you don’t hold the mp40 by the side when it was holding it by the mag people crap talk cod ww2 but at least the weapon holding looks cool btw if you dislike cod ww2 no offense i love that game with its flaws and all
Just a little jab at Vanguard, even after all this time, because I can. I did some digging, and I found these WW2 handgun training videos, I believe around eight to eleven years ago. They explained and showed that soldiers were taught how to fire handguns with one hand, mainly so that the other could carry something important, like a knife, or documents. It's annoying that Vanguard not only has soldiers holding it with *two* hands, but they do..*tactical reloads?* I'm sure that wasn't a thing back in 1942, at least, not that I know of. Do correct me if tactical loading was a thing back then. It just looks odd in that time period. Though, Vanguard and WAW against each other? That's like pitting a Volkswagen against a Ferrari. We all know who'll win, by a long-shot. I care not for graphics, especially when the story is raw, unfiltered, and wasn't afraid of the big bold Swastika. Vanguard, on the other hand, is the watered down version, diluted to such a point, it's hard to tell what it was originally supposed to be. WAW- Real warfare, gritty and raw experience, fearless in approach and execution. Vanguard- Mangles historic records beyond belief, makes an absolute mockery out of what soldiers went through. Unrealistic events and highly plausible story elements. Predictable characters and incorrectly made main characters, based off of real folks. *Kingsley should not be Cameroonian, for there was no sort of fighter of that stature. Why is he a rich college boy joining the war front?*
If you think New games are better than old games. You’re also considering MW2019 an old game and Vanguard a new game since MW2019 is now older than Vanguard. I’m gonna wear my nostalgia glasses on.
8:17 the devs have never reloaded an actual mosin via a stripper clip and it shows lmao. “Hell let loose” absolutely nails the sound and reload animations
I still think it was a big mistake to give vanguard weapons the tactical reloads that Modern Warfare 2019 had because soldiers during the WW1/WW2 era did not do these reloads at the time, but then again: It's call of duty. It's not supposed to be 100% spot on historically accurate
I give props for vanguard at its clean graphics and cool animations but the game was literally a dumpster fire(not even gonna get into why) and honestly I’d rather play WW2 than this again since it’s more playable, but WAW is a gem to say the least
Anyone else noticed that the m1928 in vangaurd doesnt have a charging handle on the side he just throws away the empty drum and puts one in without charging?;?!
@@-Myzz- dude Sometimes the Thompson doesn't get the bolt locked when the last round is shot Or basically, if you just tap any open bolt weapon on the last round the bolt wouldn't close
@@-Myzz- it’s because the Thompson is an open bolt meaning that the bolt is Locked open so that’s why he doesn’t pull the charging handle for a new mag. Also the Thompson in vanguard is a mix of a m1928 and a m1a1
Gameplay factor: absolutely waw, no doubt. Models: ofc Vanguard no doubt. It's a new game while waw is about a decade old. Sounds: waw, they are recorded and edited while Vanguard is computer generated. Reload: honestly, waw hold for it's time and I also like how it's stiff in a good way, while Vanguard on the other hand has good animations, but the thing that ruins the reload is the extreme shake, and shakey doesn't mean good. Moral of the comparison: I would say it's your choice either liking stiff reloads or shakey ones, the sounds of waw absolutely dominated Vanguard and Vanguard wins the models ofcourse. Rating: Vanguard: 6/10 WaW: 8/10
WaW is an obvious nostalgia win, but now as I hear the BAR reload after a long hiatus, it sounds less like turds and more like taking a turd, specifically when the magazine is removed
I feel bad for the cod devs, WaW is good because expectations weren't too high but ever since MW2019 (which, keep in mind, had more time to make their game) everything has to be perfect. Probably gonna get disliked into oblivion for not hating every new cod game like a good fan
