I can happily confirm that Bear McCreary will be Call of Duty Vanguard's composer. For anyone not familiar, Bear is an extremely capable composer who focuses on more darker and epic productions. For a WWII setting it makes so much sense and I can't wait to hear it in it's full spectacle 🙂 From his collection, I can create some guesses: - The sounds will be more complex and aggressive comparing to Sean Murray's WaW - Less voices, more instruments like cello and strings - Less electronic sound you might get from the Black Ops/Jack Wall series - A slight touch of early MW series - Finest for sound engineering - More than less
Eh vanguard is not looking so good atm I hope they deliver because I really want another dark and horrifying ww2 shooter not some uplifting cheerful story like they usually do
I hope he can deliver well. WaW is the only score of a WW2 shooter I always come back to. really catches the dark, bleak aspect of the war that’s normally disregarded for the sake of focusing more on the perspective of the heroic allies vs the nefarious axis that almost all of media likes to trend towards.
This game was literally a masterpiece. There wasn’t anything like it. It wasn’t just fun, it was HISTORY in many ways and was not the least bit politically correct which people like myself loved!...
Nein. She said "Brav Soldat. Brav Soldaten" which the second means Brave Soldiers. Stirbt is spelt with an I rather than an E. And yes.... Very chilling. A tragic and terrifying reminder of the horrors of World War II and the horrors of warfare itself.... God bless those lost in this conflict
"The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war." -Douglas MacArthur "Older men declare war. But it is the youth that must fight and die." -Herbert Hoover "In peace, sons bury their fathers. In war, fathers bury their sons." -Herodotus
+OminousPotato I dont really get it with all the money. I doubt someone would declare war for money, war costs alot. The only reason i can think of is to grow bigger, not fucking money.
remember when Nazi zombies was a hidden game mode and a fun mini game to play after you beat the campaign? shit was scary first time playing it by yourself in the dead of night.
EnclaveTesla I finished Downfall and Nacht der Untoten loaded up straight away and I had no idea what was happening. I thought it was the final mission, I played 3 rounds and quit because it was so fucking creepy. This game had a dark and disturbing atmosphere, I wish they would make another COD like this
It's pretty nice they put nazi zombies to be unlocked at the end, after you defeated the axis, murdered them brutally showing no mercy whatsoever. They come back as rotten corpses to avenge their countries and themselves.
_"A True war story is never moral. It does not instruct, nor encourage virtue, nor suggest models of proper human behaviour, nor restrain men from doing the things men have always done. If a story seems moral, do not believe it. If at the end of a war story you feel uplifted, or if you feel some small bit of rectitude has been salvaged from the larger waste, then you have been made the victim of a very old and terrible lie. There is no rectitude whatsoever. There is no virtue. As a first rule of thumb, therefore, you can tell a true war story by its absolute and uncompromising allegiance to obscenity and evil."_ - Tim O'Brien
I love how this song perfectly captures the horrible, grisly reality that world war 2 really was and how this game portrayed it to be. It was dark, bloody, violent, and horrifying. It wasn't a bright, action-packed cinematic war. It was fucking WAR. This song really captures that feeling. Sorry for the rant and any grammatical or spelling mistakes for I am very drunk.
It honestly makes me want to cry to see how the series has gone from a dark mature game like World at War to the childish colorful shit we see in Advanced Warfare and beyond. Soldiers dancing? Gingerbread man costumes? Clown masks? I just feel like punching the motherfucker who thought adding all that shit in a military shooter was a good idea. I feel that if they ever make another WW2 COD that they will pussy down on the gore and that they will ruin the game with supply drops and dance moves.
This game showed how horrible war is and made sadness fall throughout it, while today we have clowns flying around and camps with boobs all over the gun please Treyarch make a game like this again
I loved the dark and hopeless atmosphere of this game. Great soundtrack. True fall of axis powers. Sad that it died so fast. They should make another game like this and really put effort in it. Maybe about the forgotten fronts of WW2. Like Norway, Finland, Hungary and Mantchuria.
What makes CoD WW2 "The American dream"? COD WAW and COD WW2 are both made by an American company COD WAW also has Americans in the campaign...(just on the pacific front) btw COD WAW is better, just asking.
It sounds both scary and sad, because the soviets wanted revenge on the german nation but it really doesn't excuse what horrible crimes they also commited to achive that. In this song there is a german woman speaking,in my opinion it's probably a german woman speaking because the game also wants us to know that the allies weren't the heroes history tells us they were, also she's asking another german soldier "Brave soldier, die with me." Probably meaning she is asking for protection.
Phobic. Then we should feel grateful to be in such a peaceful time period (at least in regards to the world powers and largest economies going to war). People like to complain about everything these days it seems, but living back then was truly hell on earth...
Sniping your enemy is like hunting any other animal. Fire at the wrong moment and your chance will be forever lost. Patience, if we reveal our position to Amsel's men, this fountain will be our grave." Sorry but I remember this quote so well and felt so badass killing everyone without being seen. Of course it was on recruit 😂
memories...of fighting the Nazis in WAW. Then playing zombies afterwards and getting chills because I would think thats where the actual nazi souls were.
The air ship type thing right? That was dope! Real talk though... The opening to vendetta was astounding, the grime and reality of war sided with this soundtrack nailed the true perception of WW2
+Jack Wheeler It was awesome, I love that you were actually there, rather than floating above the battlefield out of harm's way like the AC-130 missions in Modern Warfare. I actually died in that mission when I replayed WaW on Veteran recently. I had no idea 'til now that dying was even possible, haha.
This is so tense, so suspenseful. It's like all the vileness and hatred of war being built up to a maddening frenzy then released by that ghostly whisper at 1:19, a whisper to let the evil free. Beautiful. Haunting.
redfowlham To think that Call Of Duty actually had a deep and atmospheric first person shooter that essentially captured the vile nature of war, as opposed to the crap they shit out now. It's honestly surprising, how for one game Call Of Duty had this sudden burst of integrity to make something like World At War.
i played this when i was 8 with my parents watching on the wii and when they saw the guy getting his throat cut they instantly took it away. now i have played it and It's the best
@@kristiant96 This game was brutal compared to other FPS games though. It starts with an opening scene of a soldier being hit in the face with sticks and then them putting a cig into the side of his head.
This song has almost reach 100,000 views. Brave Soldat has been an incredible song personally for me. One of the darkest but great Call of Duty piece to date! 5 years on and still effective!
Who else is here from the Battlefield 5 reveal trailer and expected it to give you the type of feeling this soundtrack gives you and was utterly disappointed?
Galactic Conquerer I'm not here because of battlefield 5s trailer, but since you mention it.. I really wish we could get a ww2 game like this one. Sadly there will never be another game like this one ever again. This game is a ww2 masterpiece and will always hold a special place in my heart.
This music helped show the deepest darkest parts of ww2 and the horrers that soldiers felt going into battle not knowing if if they'll come back to their families and not even being able say their good buys (*RIP ALL VETERANS young and old*)
I'm glad I was part of the generation who grew up with this. It showed war for what it really is, a place of no reason and Hell. It was only a glimpse into what our grandfathers and great grandfathers could never speak of.
Battlefield 1's war stories were the only thing that came even close to this in modern games. Sad to see war portrayed as such a joke nowadays instead of the dark, disturbing, gritty mess it used to be portrayed as. World at war is still my favorite fps of all time despite how poorly it aged.
So Haunting still to this day! The good old days when COD was Fantastic! So sad to see what it’s become.. give me this remastered over any of the trash today... 😎
right around 1:30 I tend to just stare at a single point and just think of all of the hardships and horrors that come out of war and mankind, especially from ww2... I think the most morbid things and get chills because the music fits with that theme so perfectly
@@NoCommentaryLife that would be a dream come true, just hope they won't ruin it and leave it like a masterpiece it was :) Had to go back and play through the campaign again, was a perfect trip down memory lane when times were easy and all i had to worry about was coming home on the weekend and jumping on with my brother and mates. The things id do to go back and do it all again.
From a time where war games were gritty, dark, and insightful to the horrors of war. Teaching the youth by proxy what a nightmare the last great war was. I will always love this game, and pray no other war on the scale of ww2 ever happens again.
after 14 years this is sending shivers down my spine. this game was insane. best ww2 cod ever. the ost, the atmosphere, no game except battlefield 1 could keep up with how amazingly this game portrayed the fears of war. when i was a kid i didnt understand the game so i mercilessly killed every enemy i saw, but now even sparing a single soldier makes me feel good in the game.
What a tune. This makes you feel like the last stand, no hope, no survival, sooner rather than later the end is nigh!! Everything about this game is just brilliant.
This Is the best war game ever done bcs It focus on the horror of the war instead of who Is black or White who Is a clown or who have the best color for his rifle
Perfectly shows how Waw was an amazing game, not picturing the war like an heroic and glorious episode but like a terrifying horror. This soundtrack gives me chills in my back, it's gloomy and so intriguing. Am I the only one that would like to know what the story is behind this voice ?
This was my 2nd game to ever get period. It for a very long time was by far my most played game, and still is in my top 3 played games (x number of hours played) ever. My xbox broke :( so I haven’t played in a while anyway, hearing this song literally gives me goosebumps and gets my heart going and my mind remembering EVERY SECOND of that damn game! I f*cking love this game, and even when I’m 80 years old, I will still remember this masterpiece. ^sorry for going overboard but yeah^
Remaking COD 4? Nah they need to remake THIS GAME RIGHT HERE!!!!! This WAS and WILL ALWAYS be the best COD. Now you got kids flying around the map with stupid looking camos. It's a shame what this game had to come to
I really hoped the next cod will feature a remastered version of CoD WAW. But I bet kids would be like "Meh I buy the normal version cuz Waw sucks and it's boring blah blah blah" and they would probably stuck at the first mission and just go straight to nazi zombies but they die in round 3. You're right, Call of duty needs to make a remastered version of this OR a newer World at War game but as a Britian soldier, etc.
By farthest the best call of duty of all time, the campaign took you on a bloody journey where there is no words to explain the blood and gore of the history told in this game. If anything this game taught me lots of about history which had me into the world war 2 books growing up as a kid.
This song really makes me feel like I was there in ww2 I had relatives fight in the pacific battle of the bulge in Stalingrad the Luftwaffe and the whole eastern front and in Italy it definetly hits my soul
it's a mashup of some sound effects compiled together. Not an actual song itself. The female non-lyrical soprano is not part of any song. Hope this helps :)
Would have been nice if the rest of the soundtrack was like this, I see a game with this style and don't expect some kind of han zimmer soundtrack for it. I expect a dark realistic depiction of the horrors of war, the rest of the soundtrack doesn't match this song at all, and the only things that come close to this is the ambiance of some levels that are not included in the soundtrack. Not saying the rest of the soundtrack is bad, but they should have made this the primary setting for the game's atmosphere.
Pfft, this is treyarch. Instead of a dark, grisly, realistic storyline and soundtrack, you get the boring cliché story and barely touched story. The typical boring cliché being the Soviet campaign. Soviet badass(IRL were badly trained rapists and brutes) defeating the "evil Nazi racists"(aka the Wermachet, who were just normal Germans fighting for their country) and than the Americans fighting the Japanese, which was interesting since it's barely touched, because everyone rather slaughter Germans for reasons.
