Another thing for Shirley is that her dad wasn't in the military. It was civilian damage caused by the landslide, so Zero has to come to terms that sometimes innocent people will die and he will be responsible for it.

So regarding the death of Shirley's father. He would live if not for Zero, bc he was killed in a landslide. If you remember, when it hit the town Lelouch even casualy remarked that he really should have asked a teacher to check his calculation or something like that.

To be clear they dont know Suzaku is the lancelot pilot they just know he works in the military. So he has his own mask.

If you didnt notice it but only zero could have killed Shirley's father because her father got buried. Buried from what you ask, buried from the landslide zero caused at the start of the narita battle to isolate Cornelia from the rest of her group and men and her reinforcements

Honestly, while the exhibitionist element of doing it in school is a bit crazy, Nina's thing for Euphy to me seems like a fairly normal deep infatuation. And i've always felt like the reason the scene exists and is so explicit is just to give her clear sexuality. The possibility of homosexual attraction in anime (outside anime that exist for it) can often be dismissed as subtext or mistaken as admiration or something else by viewers, especially back when this came out. This scene succeeds in making it abundantly clear that Nina's blushing and such over Euphy is very much rooted in desire.

Suzaku's frustration about justice comes from Zero calling himself a 'Knight of Justice', which knows is a facade and he's right. Lelouch only cares about revenge. The Black Knights, the civilians, justice and even Japan are just tools for him. People think Suzaku is stupid but he's really not. He's the only one in the entire cast who fully understood Zero's true nature from the very beginning.

They did mention Rakshata when they discuss about her tech in Guren's arm coz the Brit is the enemies of the world and 2/3 of the world is against the Brits.

I apologize for the long rant, I'm not sure if any of this could be considered spoilers, or preachy, I just wanted to give my two cents, I don't want to ruin your enjoyment of watching the show for the first time, and can delete the comment if preferable. Either way I am still loving the content, thank you for the upload and can't wait to see your reaction to the rest of the series. I like this episode because it exemplifies the difference between Suzaku and Lelouch, even if it's not as cleanly/clearly stated, first off to clarify Zero was responsible for civilian casualties because of the landslide he caused to trap Cornelia, he didn't plan on it, he didn't account for it, he even said the destruction was greater than what he thought and should have asked a teacher to check his math on it, but even after it happened it never occurred to him, maybe I caused collateral damage/civilian casualties with this, he was fully focused on his goal and everyone else is either a useful tool or an obstacle to be disposed of, even admitting to Kirihara that he is going to embark on a path of blood, never occurring to him that those he actually cares about (Shirley in this case) might be affected on the other hand, Suzaku can be seen as both naive and a hypocrite, which he can be, but he is still trying to do thing the right way, in previous episodes he said, any goals gained thru contemptable means is not worth it (or a variation of this), for example Zero got the tactical advantage, but got civilians involved, which is not acceptable, he has said i preferer the logic of systems over individuals, another example of this is when the splinter group of the JLF starting throwing civilians from the roof, both a contemptable mean and emotional action, and while his methods dont always show the fruits of his labor, he has been finding others to help him change things from the inside, Euphemia for example shares his desire for people to not lose the ones they love, and while Lloyd and Cécile care about the science more than the morality of their government, they still support him and dont berate or prevent him from doing what Suzaku believes is right nor do they try to change his mind. with regards to his answer of i became a soldier to prevent people from dying, i believe, as i have no way to confirm it, it's something similar to what you see in some war movies, where they explain that if they kill 1 enemy then maybe they saved 10 others, with this, Suzaku might try to be a soldier, the best he possibly can, to try and end the battle as soon as possible to prevent people from continuing to kill each other, all the while trying to keep to his morals and NOT involve civilians in any way. the matter of why Suzaku serves Britannia even when the government does such unethical, horrific acts (committing genocide against the ghetto for example) instead of joining the black knights, i think, it goes back to his idea of changing things from within, if he can show that the logic of systems works, by being acknowledge in his service as a soldier, then others in the system, in similar positions as him, would also have to be acknowledge, forcing people to get along over time, adding as well that, if he manages to get promoted while in the system, even with all the cards stacked against him, he might genuinely get enough influence to change things for the better, and while this might be a Sisyphus type struggle, doing so thru honorable, fair and just means is better, in his mind at least, than causing suffering by burning it all down like Zero is trying to do

Wish they discussed Lelouch calling C.C beautiful. Never seen any channels discuss it. in episode 10 (I believe) C.C compared herself to snow, saying snow has forgotten what color it’s supposed to be, just like C.C has forgotten who she was. Then now in episode (11 I believe). Lelouch says he doesn’t know why snow is white, but he thinks it’s beautiful. Calling C.C beautiful in a very intimate way. As the first real sign of affection from Lelouch towards C.C.

Love the fight between Suzaku and Kallen. Kallen seems to have faster reflexes, especially dealing with point blank attacks. But Suzaku seems to be a better all around fighter thanks to his various forms of formal training. Edit: Civilian casualties would've been highly unlikely if it were just Suzaku versus the JLF. Cornelia set up an encirclement specifically to make sure the fighting stayed in a certain area. Euphemia was concerned about it. Even Lelouch understood he did way more damage than he expected with the landslide.

Nina is madly in love with euphemia, and homosexual thoughts are suppressed in britannia and Area 11 Nina was touching herself to a picture of Euphemia.

Back in the late 2000s when this aired we were literal teenage detectives trying to figure out C2s (C.C.) real name. SPOILERS C. Cecilia Based on lip reading, syllables matching in both English and Japanese most of the fandom came to agree on this likely being her first name. The most known meanings of that name, “blind, heavenly lily,” make some sense once you get to her backstory/understand what Cs world is. C. Corabelle Not a lot to support this one but I do remember discussions being had over it as it fits the “C,” is pronounceable in English (keeping in theme with Brittanian names) and originates from a Greek word meaning “maiden.” Which again, once you finish Code Geass it’ll essentially “fit” C2 as a character. Again, nothing has ever been made official about her name and this is all head canon but nowadays most that watch Code Geass just kind of gloss over that moment, so thank you for emphasizing it. 😂😂 * plop *

C2 and Lelouch scene in the cave is one of my favs just cuz its the first time we see a potentially true C2 without her stoic mask. She acts vulnerable and kinda coquettish. She's earning for something and in this moment wants to hear her true name being called out again and again. I think the sub version has a better delivery but the dub is not that bad either. Also poor table kun. The infamous scene is here to stay in ur mind for probably the next 2 weeks 😂

People have dugged out name of C.C. in the early development. However, it's not ever officially confirmed. The theories people came up with have considered Lulu's mouth shapes, but I think people should also know that Japanese anime VA, typically, doesn't cares about matching characters' mouth. The theory I personally subscribed is "Caliburia", originated from the sword Excalibur, following the round knight theme of this show. And it somehow matched Lulu's mouth. It's also NOT a name for humans. And in the first episode, they did popped her out a stone-like shell. So it makes most sense for me. It doesn't have the second "C." though...

C.C: "Snow is white because it's forgotten what colour it's supposed to be." C.C is C.C because she's forgotten who she was supposed to be.

In episode 10, Lelouch noted to C.C. that her name is not human, she responded by saying that snow is white because it's forgotten what color it's supposed to be. At the end of episode 11, when Lelouch again notes that her real name is more human than C.C., she says "That's a joke! As if I want to be more human! After all, I've forgotten everything..every single thing. So what's the use of it? A name? But why?"

I don't know if you 2 noticed it during editing, but the show have a fairly ironic setup. We have the old kurugi character ask Zero/Lelouc if he was embarking on "the path of blood", and then shortly after Lelouch is introduced to what the consequences of that path is, and will now have to deal with the aftermatch.

This is another reason why I avoid desk corners…

Honestly I had completely forgotten about the table scene, its kind of a big lipped alligator moment with how it just happens and then is kind of never mentioned or relevant to anything going forward. Oh the character's obsession with her rescuing princess very much is a big plot point and it WILL be having repercussions to be sure. But that scene in and of itself? Your reaction to it was a thousand times more memorable ^_^;

Funny thing when Clovis did it and Cornilia recreate to lure Zero Suzaku seems blind to it, But when Zero did it unintentionally involving civilians... Suzaku goes: "It's wrong! Fighting for freedom in protest is not right! Being in Brit try to change it from within that took decades to be recognised without a princess backing with added privileged etc² is the way to go"

Im surprised no one has said it but it is C2 in Japanese too. They pronounce it Shi Tsu and not like ShiShi. So saying it C2 is more correct

Even though that's a possibility, he explicitly died because of the landslide, and the landslide was 100% caused by Zero and wouldn't have happened if he wasn't involved in the fight.

I will say this, a lot of fanfic writers will give minor characters that didn’t enough backstory some more essence. For example, Shelly‘s father might’ve been part of the code-R experiments as a scientist or he was a financial worker still on the same team.

People are acting like they never saw a girl masturbate in their life hahaha It's shocking as self-pleasure is usually not shown in media, but it's not like she deserves all that shaming just for being a horny teenager. There are other aspects of her that warrant way more scrutiny than the fact she rubbed herself once to her crush.
