Lelouch always has to break out the comedy skit when alone in a room with another prince/princess: “Oh you got something on your face Clovis” * BANG * “oops”

except it wasn't a joke, which he immediately clarified to her (but this gets ignored strangely whenever people comment this) though she is justified in assuming so since she doesn't know what geass is the viewers saying that he shouldn't joke around however aren't, they SHOULD know EXACTLY by now what he was referring to, and that he was simply using a hyperbole/an extreme example to get the point across (a very normal thing to do when you're trying to explain something/anything) ...and I am baffled everytime by the amount of people jumping on this sort of bandwagon I'd have to assume, because there is no way THIS many people cannot distinguish between joking and using an example..euphie literally mistakes it for a joke and he corrects her ffs! not that that needed to happen to understand that what he is saying is true and a PERFECT example to explain that he can give ABSOLUTE orders (even if it were to go straight against all values of the person that has to act it out: "killing all japanese;euphie)

@@monolith_hard8505 my guy, the joke everyone talk about...is him telling her to kill every japanese, not the obvious joke he makes about his power. I believe you are the one who does not understand others.

​@@deadline6149 do you know what a joke is? do you know what an example is? please rewatch the scene, and explain the joke to me, tell me which part of it is funny or even better: which part is untrue. it's LITERALLY just an example....he is explaining his power to her by using an example...: instead of saying "I can make you do something horrible, something you would never do" he used an example... you're right, I DON'T understand how you can think that he was joking, he LITERALLY said that he wasn't joking after euphie makes the same mistake YOU are making, except you KNOW what geass is...so why do you think he was joking? are you denying how geass works? what is going on here?

@@govind.m86Yes, and it grants an ability that violates the rights of others. And it is up to the user to determing to what extent they're willing to go through to gain that wish. Therefore the "test/measure of one's resolve." Honestly, if you're just going to strip any nuance of everything you'd be left with nothing.

@@govind.m86 i can’t go into further details until these guys finish the series just so if they read my comment I do not want to spoil one of the greatest stories in fiction. But yes when you have full context of the entire series geass IS a test of resolve. It wasn’t sheer coincidence that the euphemia moment happened.

@@sakidickerson Spoilers The Emperor doesn't actually care about discrimination or Britannian supremacy. It simply allows him to galvanize support to go on a world conquering conquest, which he does to take control of all the geass sites.

@@eyhabalawadhi6370 the Emperor doesnt care about any of his children including Euphy & Lulu. He only cares about Geass and what got him so excited was Lelouch using Geass cuz that is so out of character for Euphy.

I don't think there is any real solution that doesn't hurt anyone. He was damned to succumb to the naivety or force his enemies to "betray" him in some way.

Because it would be completely out of character for Euphie to kill all the japanese, while meowing like a character or making pizza a dat a national festivity wouldn`t be as absurd.

@@harshraj9266 Kinda but not really. Yeah Lelouch hubris can make him act like that sometimes but at the end of the day it is just so that the plot can happen. To be fair I actually like that Lelouch is not perfect and that even him can royally screw up, but there is no logical explanation as to why he had to make that joke, even if you don't have a power like Geass it would still be in such bad taste to make a remark like that.
