we had a customer call with a complaint of car losing power and code being present it was p0641 which is loss of power traction control malfunction. after taking it to a few mechanics was replaced a number of farts she was told to take it to a dealer to get a diagnosis after calling me and having it diagnosing the dealer for an outrageous price to fix I told her that I can take care of it. once I got into the car and looked at it I realize the person who put the fuel pump in when she had a fuel pump done Nick one of the wires that was for the 5-volt interference. a quick check of continuity between the pigtails showed which wire at was and a visible indication was pretty apparent. this video deals with how to find it and a quick fix and how to test using a multimeter continuity to verify wire.

I have a 2006 Chevy Equinox that’s giving me that P0641 code and I’m stressing because I have to get my tags renewed within 2 weeks! I paid my car off and that very day, the service engine soon light came on. Since then, I have put 2k into this car and a complete brand new braking system cuz I had calipers that kept sticking! I think I need to run holy water in the tank at this point cuz the car runs and drives perfect but the codes are keeping me from getting inspection. Any ideas on what I should do/look for? I greatly appreciate any info! Thanks so much and I subbed❤️

Hey I'm sorry to hear that you put that much into it I know it can be a pain and this vehicle it ended up being the wiring harness between the fuel tank and the computer. What I ended up doing was dropping the tank soldering The wire and resetting it. I do believe we did something with the PCM but I honestly can't remember his been a few years since I had that particular diagnosis. If you've already done all that other stuff there's somewhere over voting the system that has to be checked if it goes into power reduce mode run the codes and see what other reference codes you have to p0641. Sometimes it's the computer itself it could be the fuel pump it could also be the throttle body or throttle pedal. I hope this helps 🙌🏿✌🏿

I would love to but I don't think it would be fair for you to get me there for the price I would have to charge 😁

@@Fasttowpro the dealer thinks they found the problem in the harness for the camshaft position sensor... fingers crossed, just want to see someone put the work in you did to find that terminal damage

@@domdepompei6001 I sincerely appreciate that comment and I hope they found it as well. The one under the hood is a bit more touchy due to the extra heat within the engine bay. It can be a pretty expensive fix when it comes to harnesses especially at the dealer but if it gets you back on the road safely, who can out a price on freedom to travel? Thanks for the comment and best of luck!

How do I go about trying to fix this myself? 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt. Paid 350 for MAP sensor to be replaced. That doesn't seem to be the culprit...

I would highly recommend getting the codes red before going any further it can get very expensive and if you start throwing parts at it you will literally dig yourself into a hole and still not fix that problem mine ended up being the transmission it was insane

@@Fasttowpro It's P0641

@@Fasttowpro There used to be 4 more codes (P0106, P0107, P0452, P0532). Those codes were cleared after my mechanic replaced my MAP sensor yesterday. Now only P0641 remains. Dashboard reads "Service Traction", "Engine Power Reduced." Sometimes but not always it goes into limp mode after stopping. Sometimes but not always I hear a thud when shifting. When I clear the engine lights with my scanner, it runs perfectly fine. After 10-30 min, all my problems come back. After driving over snow/ice or potholes, the engine lights on come back and the problems come back. After not using the car for hours, the problems disappear but come back eventually.

@@nestor.valentino what ended up being the problem. I have the same issue

@@victor_sanchez7542 I sold the car. The guy who bought it replaced a sensor. Don't sell your car just yet. Go to a competent mechanic with a high tech, expensive scan tool to get it diagnosed! I regret selling the car!
