Great song! I had a December like this. In 2008 I was broke my furnace went out and it was -40F and my water lines froze and broke. I was in the crawlspace of my house on my knees with a little propane heater trying to thaw the lines that I didn't even have money to fix, and I prayed to God to help me figure out a way to fix my problems. It was the week of Christmas 🎄. I was able to work 84 hrs. that week and make enough money to cover everything. God does answer your prayers. It may not always come in the way you're expecting. It was one of the hardest times in my life, and I'm 100 percent convinced my prayers were answered that night on my knees in a muddy crawl space.
One Midwest winter, when my brother and I were maybe just four and six, they cut off our gas. We had just moved in to a home new to us, and there was a big pile of firewood in the backyard that my mom kept begging my dad to get rid of. In his exhaustion he kept putting that project off, but thank God that pile of wood kept our chimney going for what felt like weeks. One night it got so cold that we hung blankets on the walls for insulation, and my dad made champurrado (Mexican hot chocolate) over that fire we had going. It was a difficult time, but we remember it so fondly. Necessity along with God’s provision teaches you tenacity and gratitude. Thank God for these experiences and for the many parents out there always determined to find a way. ❤️
Many artists have recorded this song since the early 70’s…this is my favorite…right up there with Merl Haggard’s! I absolutely love Cody Johnson singing this beautiful song…thank you, Cody, you have made us proud! 💕💕💕

Absolutely correct on that today's country has no sound or style like it used to only a handful know how to make it sound right not the fake stuff like jelly roll and all the others

What other country artists cover Legends like Merle Haggard Willie Nelson Waylon Jennings songs it is so awesome when they do it justice that is what real country is and what it's about with a great story and great sound, unlike that non-country music like jelly roll and other people that have given country music a non-country sound or style great job Cody Johnson Merle would be proud
