I think it’s important to recognize that the cream in that coffee mitigates the effects of the sugar. There would be a little more spike if there was no cream, I believe. I enjoy your videos. Thank you!
@@phonefamoustv7930 It does! You only get cream when the oil in the coffee is not filtered through a paper filter or a condensation system. Oil is fat and fat raises insulin levels, too. Not as much as sugar, but it does. That's why it makes a difference whether you drink pressed-through or filtered coffee.
@Insight Story It doesn't raise the insulin level for me. It can curb my appetite for a while. If I'm trying to cut back and lose a few pounds, it does give me a good mental and physical boost, especially if I make sure I don't use sugar. I've seen testimonies of some people who are over 100 years old that drink 3 to 4 cups of coffee a day and suggest that it helps them.
If he's Not Diabetic it's not helping the Diabetic community at all🤦♀️ Before this, I thought he was Diabetic . Food doesn't affect people who are not Diabetic the way it affects people with this illness.
@@isabellaquinn8041 actually, everything he's suggesting is largely from the glucose food index, which the Diabetics association recommends. This absolutely applies to diabetics.
My friends and families called me the coffee ☕️ queen,,I started my coffee like 2 am in the morning when am about to do bible study or just up..love coffee, ❤❤❤❤❤
@@anamaganda9352 Sugar is NOT ok, this is very misleading. Hes spiking his insulin which is not good. A diabetic will have insulin resistance and will see a spike if they drink this. Hes not a diabetic and furthermore every person has a different degree of insulin resistance. His test shoes his reaction and is no-way-shape-or-form an indication of anyone elses metabolic response to sugar.
@@bmwmd110 in life we need balance, as long as she doesn't do it every day she should be fine. Stressing over what you should eat, and drink is more detrimental to her health than drinking coffee with cream and sugar once in a while. Also it is not realistic to completely get rid of anything she might enjoy, just because it can spike her blood sugar levels
I started putting honey or maple syrup in my coffee instead of sugar. I also changed my creamer to one with 2 ingredients only milk and cream no fillers Thanks for testing all these foods combinations for us. Very informative ❤🇨🇦
I'm diabetic and drink 1 cup of coffee on an empty stomach every morning. I take 15 units of long acting insulin. My blood sugar raised about 40 points within an hour. After an hour, I take a few units of fast-acting insulin. I have to be careful not to take too much because my body reacts slowly to corrections.
If you are not diabetic, pre-disbnetic or insulin-resistant, then obviously a little sugar and cream will not have much effect on your blood sugar. Much better would be to show the effect on someone who is in fact diabetic!
And you want him to go searching for a diabetic person and convince him/ her to undertake this test? Be thankful for all the experiments he is conducting.
Thank you so much for doing all the tests on food ans drinks, I learned how to eat and eat it right from you than from my nutrionist. Appreciate it, the before and after sugar compassion helps more than the cold numbers of data from the books or doctors. Happy New Year!
It is enough sugar to spike your glucose. Thing is, you took it with cream, which is fat and will make digestion slow enough for your glucose not to spike.
What your test doesn’t show is the rise in insulin. Being the “fat storing hormone “ that’s quite significant. Your blood glucose remained stable because insulin did its job, grabbing all that sugar you consumed and shoving it into cells. Bad news for those who want to burn fat. Not so bad if you don’t concern yourself with types 2 & 3 diabetes (dementia).
Being diebetic is crazy what different foods react to you. When I ate an acorn squash with salt and butter for dinner my bs went down 40 points next morning. I notice if I ate poorly (holidays) for a week it takes 4-5 days to get back down to where I was even if I was eating correctly. I keep a journal and have come to realize I can only cheat 1 day, not several cuz it takes longer to recover. One day and not very often. I will save them for a vacation. Really appreciate all your vlogs.
Love this Information. Thank you. So glad about the coffee, although I am not Diabetic, I have a family history so I like to avoid blood sugar smiling foods. Can you do bananas sometime please?😊
These videos are fascinating! Glad -- and extremely pleasantly surprised -- that my morning coffee with cream and sugar aren't the problem I thought they were. I do notice, however, that of I start the morning with sugar in my coffee that I get hungry much earlier before lunch and want more carbs to snack on all day.
When I found out that I am pre-diabetic last year, the first thing my doctor told me to do was drink black coffee and not add sugar and cream. At first I thought that it was preposterous and a joke, but after I tried it out, I now don't enjoy half and half anymore. It helped me to lose weight. He moved away but I'll always thank him for the help he gave me last year.
That’s great news. Because media was saying coffee is good if you don’t add cream and sugar. I can’t stand black coffee… bitter. So glad you did this test. Now I am guilt free of adding 2 packets and sugar free cream..
