@@theresahana7210 Well in fact Egypt do not have coffee, Turkish coffee means, the way Turks make coffee, actually coffee first came from Yemen (south of Arabian peninsula) , when Turks had those lands and Turks introduced Coffee to Europe in 16th century in Ottoman period, and from cultivation in Ottoman Empire, Captain John Smith got the first seeds and introduced coffee to America.. So, Turks and Turkish coffee was the bridge for coffee to be introduced to world from their land (as Yemen was ruled by Turks when coffee was first introduced). There’s an excellent hack for those who don’t prefer breakfast early in the morning. In India, many people start their day with about 8-10 almonds soaked overnight in water. You peel off the skin (better for absorption, reduces the digestive discomfort) and eat the almonds chewing slowly. I find them delicious. And it’s kind of meditative. Then I head for my single cup of coffee with cow’s milk or almond milk. Blood sugar stays steady for hours. Hope this helps and Jesse, thank you!

Magic for increased risk of stroke or heart attack. It’s indisputable some fats are healthy, and cows fat is not one of those healthy fats. At least cows/soy milk has protein, calcium, vitamin A, and vitamin D which cream and half and half don’t.

Calories in and calories out only work when you know your estimated BMR/RMR. Otherwise there's no way to know if the calories you're counting is enough or too much. Use the mifflin st jeor equation that we usually do in hospitals or getting a dexa scan which is way more accurate but the both are acceptable by the AMA here in America for legally backed BMR estimations for patients

Also notice there’s a study that depending on your genetics coffee may increase your chances to heart attack whilst for others it diminishes. Growing evidence shows that interindividual differences in caffeine response may be partly due to variations in genes such as CYP1A2 and ADORA2A, which have been used to identify individuals as "fast" or "slow" caffeine metabolizers and as having a "high" or "low" caffeine sensitivity, respectively

In the oat milk latte comparison (12:25), the brand listed has 17 grams of added sugar per serving (240ml) for a total of 25g of carbs. I blend my own oat milk from an oat milk powder (e.g., Norcal Organic) which has only a single ingredient (oats!). It has 15g of carbs, 4 being natural occurring sugars, 1 being fiber. I sweeten with a monk fruit/erythritol combo, flavor with vanilla and add healthy fats (avocado & macadamia nut oils) to improve mouthfeel. With mostly complex carbs, I would imagine a very different spike compared to the Pacific Foods oat milk or the Horizon milk which has 12g of sugars.

Whole milk is too spikey for me. Also I am doing OMAD eating with mostly keto oriented. I now can have a bowl of regular ice cream or cake now and then which does glucose over 200. But once or twice a month perhaps does not harm me. Same with bread products; we use buttermilk white bread as it has fewer carbs. Great video and I hope to view your next one as well.

My particular case, sugar consistently stays in range. The coffee alone to get rid of cobwebs, etc., in the 🌄 makes sense: The acid acts upon the insides and the central nervous system. That mention of pistachio milk had sugar most plausibly was intended as a preservative. You do great each time !

Hey guys. I can’t have any caffeine or even black tea. I’m sensitive to both caffeine and sugar. Any amount of caffeine sends me into a jittery panicky mess. I just can’t have it at all. I have adhd and I need my brain to be quiet. The only thing that keeps me level is exercise and lots of it. Keep up the good work Jesse! 👍

Consider yourself lucky! I wish I didn’t need coffee to wake up, but I’m a creative type/natural night owl, and living in an early bird kinda world is tough on me. If you wake just fine without caffeine then you can do a different morning routine like hot water and lemon, or invent your own “morning cup” of health benefits. Coffee’s main magic is the effects of caffeine giving us energy (which you already have?) Plus the routine = reward center, part of our brains. You can mimic that in your own way !
@mariusd7803
@mariusd7803 2 месяца назад
Coffee doesn’t give you energy. That’s a red herring right there. Caffeine is a psychoactive substance that mimics energy by activating the adrenal glands and releasing the stress hormone cortisol which gives you the buzzy feeling. To someone with a disregulated nervous system, caffeine is a no no. It can cause anxiety and panic. It’s not for everyone. Some people can handle it, some can’t

As my coffee water gets close to boiling (pour-over) I put some of that hot water into a cup, squeeze whatever citrus I have on hand into it, cool with water, and sip it, feeling the cleansing wash into my conduits, replacing lost overnight moisture, and tempering the coffee that' s just around the corner. My absolute favorite is to have herbal tea in the morning, and coffee just before lunch -heaven! but I'm addicted to early coffee. Not the coffee itself, but the taste, the ritual, and fortunately like it black and weak. Jessie is right on. Takes a bit more discipline than I usually have...

For those who don't know, the Kirkland brand of almond milk at Costco is unsweetened and pretty cheap at $15 for a 12-pack of 32 oz boxes. You don't have to be a member to buy it online and the non-member fee is very small.

Unless you buy (or make homemade) almond milk from blanched almonds, most almond milk is manufactured with whole almonds, which means the skin is included in the making of the almond milk and it contains both lectins and phytic acid. So it's definitely not a good choice if you use it daily. Almonds are great and tasty, but like any nuts and seeds, not good every day because of those compounds. Phytic acid can impair mineral absorption in your diet. Oxalic acid is another "anti-nutrient" that can hinder mineral absorption.
@Dodgerzden

@@pat4005 Right. And eating too many nuts will tear your stomach apart because of that. I usually prefer whole milk but I'll use nut milk if I want to keep carbs under 20 grams per day.

I used to drink 5 or more cups per day, then replaced it with water. Now I have a cup of warm water in the morning and 3-5 cups of water in a day, but also 2-3 cups of coffee somewhere in a day. Also very interesting all the facts about coffee and now I know that I'm doing it right: For Breakfast first my Apple Vinegar, then 4 Protein Tabs and then I eat first my veggies, then whole rye bread with peanut butter on it and on the top cheese. When I'm finished eating I drink my Latte Macchiato (no sugar) and with whole cowmilk. I also have unsweetened almond milk at home but I use this only for my keto drink before I go to bed or for a protein shake. Love & hugs to you dear 🤗❤️😘💋, Elisabeth from Düsseldorf 🙏

When I first saw you, I thought you were French (that's a compliment) because your facial style, your personality, and the way you speak English has a little bit of a French accent, and I don't know if it's the short haircut that reminds me of that more than anything else. You look really good, like a model, not a biochemist, and I think that's why people are paying more attention to your channel, because it's not the boring, stuffy biochemist's sleepy explanations. I've been watching your channel a lot lately, and it's really helpful in a lot of ways. However, the food that they eat, I think it's one of those things that's so strongly cultural and I think it's one of those things that can't be easily fixed because it's so deeply ingrained, especially from your mum and your parents when you're younger. Of course, that's why your video is so important and meaningful to people who want to make a change and feel like there's a problem. I look forward to seeing more of your helpful videos in the future. 'm cheering you on from the bottom of my heart from Korea.
