Beautiful solution with cup hand, built by extrude along spline! It gives smooth transition. What about bottom part? Is it possible to break spline path on some distance from end point? Than we can remove 9 polys (as at start point, with same area as hand extruded). Than remove polys at the end of hand, than with sub-selection level of Edges = BORDER, select open edges on cup and hand than Bridge or connect, dont remember exactly. I thing so its Bridge. Nice sound, atmosphere, but final applause will be better at a lower volume. Thanks!
The spline must be closed in order to get an extruded surface. If you created the shape with multiple splines you will need to make sure that all verts are welded where the splines join.
Thank you for replying this late! No i mean seriously!! I got stuck there nd got so irritated that i thought i should give coding a chance! Fast forward to 1 year now i got a very good job and running a small start up! Nd no this isn’t sarcasm! This is all true! Thanks again bud!
It happens when surface has inverted normals. It may be resolved by three ways: 1. Checking box "Flip normals" in Lathe modifier. 2. Make source spline closed. 3. Build spline reversed to current or change First vertex with selection of another end and with Vertex sub-level command "Make first".
I wonder why my cup become black colour after "lathe".. it's like the opposite of shadow.. it should be yellow colour with black shadow.. but mine, it becomes black colour with yellow shadow
it was inverted, try playing with the axis in the menu on the right, also for me I had to click on "min" instead of "max" - clicking max made it into a differently positioned and shaped cup (like 90degreez shifted flipped and more like a bowl than a cup :)), when I clicked min instead it went to the exact form I had made with the lines.. hope this helped
