Rick Waters quite possibly the best band of their genre. maybe the best band to come out of their decade. this song stole me away from AFI when they opened for them in the early 2000s. hard to believe how long ago that was. still to this day this song goves me goosebumps. I remember standing in line for AFI and two guys ahead of me told me they were there to see this group with a hoodie name I hadnt heard before. they told me they woukd steal the show. keep in mind this was not no bullshit AFI we hear today. this was prime AFI when they played more black sails and art of drowning songs mised in with some sing the sorrow. I laughed at them thinking they were some ignorant turds who didn't know good music if it landed on their lap. he explained to me the way Claudio qrites his songs as an intertwining story. now I thought even worse. now their a lame story telling group that can't play good music so they write songs that the story will suck in goofy sci do nerds. who ended up being the ignorant know nothing? me of course. they opened with this song that night. the next day immediately after work i went to best buy looking for albums and found two. I didnt know which one had that one song I wanted to hear so badly. I coyldnt buy both bc I was a broke kid. didn't really have the money for one CD but I couldn't care less about car insurance and gas at this point. I guessed. "in keeping secrets" was my choice. I slipped it into my cd player in my car.........."hello appollo, where should I begin" my love story with coheed started right there. when I heard their brilliance in studio I realized they were special. I dont think they ever surpassed the brilliance of that album tho.

That's what good song writing and structure should do to the fan. And, fair disclosure, I'm a much bigger fan of bands like DEP and Cattle Decapitation. But having seen these guys countless times, on purpose and because they seem to tour with every band I love, they never disappoint and I stay through their set everytime and nostalgia trip my balls off.
