This game needs some 'explainer' or short introduction into Soviet/Russian culture for the foreigners. For example, that robot soda offering is a sort of meme because of how there were plenty of soda machines in the USSR with that sort of faceted glass (any person from CIS / former USSR that is older than 25 will instantly recognize it), and so on and so forth. Hopefully this game will prompt people to actually learn how we live(d) here and what the USSR collapse meant for most of the ordinary people.

This intro is a very good move. Sure, some people will want to talk politics/real world issues, but Coh's community has never been for that. Overwhelmingly, people are coming to escape the hard realities of life and Coh fosters that. He likely has people from every side of the political spectrum hanging out and having fun together which they would never do otherwise. Well done Coh and team.

On top of everything, his community doesn't need people who will bring in the negativity from outside influences - a game is a game and meant to be enjoyed. If politics etc. do influence you then don't play it, but you can't force others to do the same, he handled this very well I think.

I got immediate bioshock infinite vibes as soon as the game started and 30 seconds later they mentioned "city in clouds built in the 50s". I was like "ok ya this is definitly an unofficial bioshock sequel"

I did some research after the video Cohh did about his thoughts and feeling about the game & it's ties to Russia. Here are some important things I found to add on to what he said: VK Play is only the publisher for the CIS region (Post-soviet bloc that includes Russia, Belarus, etc). Focus Entertainment & 4Divinity are the publishers for the rest of the world. VK Plays might get some royalties from total sales (including outside the CIS), but we don't know. Also many countries have sanctions against Russia receiving any revenue from sales from their country and we don't know how that will shake out either. On top of that, based on past revenue reports, this game will make up a very small portion of VK Play's total revenue for the year. They are a giant conglomerate so any reduced sales because of Russia's invasion will be negligible to them & hurt the devs more.

Even before I heard "the city in the clouds" I already had BioShock:Infinite vibes. I mean, like, almost from the opening frame. I'm speculating, but I bet YOU are one of those experimental robots that's indistinguishable from a human being, and that's why the thought implant wouldn't work. Also, further down, a lady said "Heart of the ROBOT: a peaceful ATOM", and the game is called Atomic Heart.

I'm very glad you ended up playing this game, it looks quite awesome other than the atrocious dialogue lol. When you spend money anywhere in this world, it's almost impossible for it not to end up in someone's pocket eventually down the line that you disagree with morally, you can always make the argument that by buying just about anything we're supporting someone or something you might not like somewhere in the chain. That's not to say there's anything wrong with holding back your money if you think it feels wrong for you personally, but I don't think there's a reasonable argument that in general there's a moral imperative to do so the overwhelming majority of the time. My only criticism of your handling of the whole situation is that I'd rather you not have turned comments off on your explanation video of youtube, I get that you don't like the inevitable trolling posts and one sided arguments, but I still think more discourse is preferable to less, and that limiting expression generally harms more than it helps, overall, but that's just my two cents.
