The rest of the stuff shown is great imho as a 'old' rpg player who grew up with Gothic/Morrowind/ NWN ...God i missed theese games , kinda long time passed from Fallout 4 :)

@@AwesomeNuke The delays have *_REALLY_* paid off. According to rumors/leaks, StarField was scheduled for release nearly a FULL YEAR before the original public date of 11/11/22. We're very lucky that XBOX stepped in a purchased them~

I think it colud be after you complete the story and its an unknown Alien Force given to you by who or what you find on that journey.

I remember watching Skyrim first gameplay thinking it was exaggerated then I played the game and it delivered beyond my wildest dreams. I hope for this to happen here.

Nah I'm all in, this feels just like Skyrim before launch and that is the greatest game ever made. It doesn't even matter if the combat is far worse or if its buggy (Bethesda bugs are best bugs anyway) I can already see that the magic is there.

It's okay to be excited. Just don't preorder and wait for reviews

Though they kind of started the video with something that looked a bit like NMS, I think the closer you look at that or other things you can find in other games, the more you see a better or deeper implementation in Starfield From what was described, they can add different kinds of handcrafted content on ANY planet as you approach it, so I don't think some are procedural and some have the handcrafted content; they all have both. Two examples of such content were the abandoned mine and the research outpost that had been invaded by marauders. They did say that they want you to be able to go to very desolate planets because that is a different kind of experience, but I would be surprised it it was most of them. They can also put those special capital ships and star yards in your path wherever you decide to go. I think it will never get too boring, which is also probably why atmospheric flying was not included; if realistic it would take a long time and get old, and the other things they're including for you to spend your time on are much more fun. There are set locations for special things like HQs of factions, but I think there shouldn't be many cities or entire "civilized worlds", because the story is that mankind is just beginning to go out and colonize space. If you go to other parts of the planet New Atlantis is on, it may be pretty wild. These are all just my take based on what they showed. I agree that they created something very impressive, in a class by itself.

I’m expecting 8/10 and if it exceeds that, bonus.

@@shiny460 It's not, I just find it funny how people think every planet will be worth exploring. They won't be. Because it's space, and the setting isn't year 40k or something. It's logical and a good design.

If I had to make a guess based on what they've presented, there will be baked in and fully developed members for recruiting, and there will be randomly generated characters that can fill other roles. If you've heard of or played x4, I'd suspect it's similar to that since they obviously took inspiration from it.

@@olsongc8422 There will probably be mods released later on with that feature if it isn't in the base game. I don't however expect it to be in the base game due to it being somewhat balance breaking. If they did do that, there would need to be a way to train new companions so that they can start as a blank slate. It would be a cool feature, but we wont know for sure till the game releases. Either way, I just hope the game turns out well regardless.

You actually saw the transition already. It's a cutscene and there's no low atmosphere flying. But also... eh. NBD.

They have a team five times as big as the one on Skyrim, with a year of additional work time before releasing thanks to XBox, and have the ability to add any handcrafted content that they wish to include, like the outposts and animals we saw, to the planet you're on at any time no matter which planet you go to. Then of course they have the special content for certain locations, such as more quests in New Atlantis than they've had in any other city before. I think you'll already see an enormous amount of content in the game (as one dev put it, "I can't believe there's more here"), and they will be continuing to work on more content as you work your way to a better graviton drive to explore further.

it doesn't look like you can fly a ship on the surface of the planet, looks like you pick a landing zone and explore on foot, no flying around, because they did mention fast travel back to the ship. So pick a spot, it automatically lands or goes back to space, because the video shows the cinematic of the ship flying to space so its all just a sequence. The flying is only in space for exploration and combat. Its also more apparent when you see that you are walking everywhere.

@@enightc Can't recall if it was Howard or Cohh that touched on the loading screen landing months ago, but in reality thats incredibly code intensive to add, and we already have that with NMS, I wanna get down to the planet immediately and start exploring and blasting baddies. You can bet that modders will find a way to add it in a few years though.

@@pawsomelabrastead9244 the game really isn't anything like NMS, I think that is why Todd and the Team didn't really compare, the only similar thing is you collect resources with a laser and walk on a planet in a space suit. I doubt there are radiations that forces you to go back to a space ship probably a different mechanic, and since there are no space ship flying on the surface of the planet, I can see why they don't compare themselves to NMS, too much differences.
