Sven nailed that response to why BG3 is a worthy successor xD I kinda didn't expect it, being put on the spot like that, but he made a very good case for BG3 imo... You can really feel how passionate he is about all his games, love the dude.

Really hope this studio stays this awesome for a very long time. I am tired seeing good studios lose their way once they become successful.

the dragonborn has no right to look this good. Many other game treats different skin material as if it's all flesh. This is probably the only game where a scaly humanoid truly looks as if they're scaly. It almost feels surreal how hyperrealistic dragonborns look like simply because the material interacts with lighting

i have to say i respect the shit out of these guys for having a normal people conversation and the big boss is confident enough to not be on top of everything in the game at all times. that really impresses the shit out of me. this guy leads 100 people but hes like, i have a particular job and everyone else i hired has a particular job and imma trust these guys and let them give me info.

In Larian we trust. I am so excited for this game. The replayability looks insane. I am going to get lost in the character creation for hours in a good way. The hardest part is deciding what to play on my first play through.

This might be the coolest dev team and showcase I have seen. I am very happy I got this in EA. Glad they are putting it out early so I will get to enjoy it for a bit before Starfield takes my whole life away. I feel bad for their tech issues because even in early access it runs buttery smooth and looks fantastic.

The FPS was unfortunately a stream thing, they tried really hard to show us it was 60. According to the people that were there, it was fine on their end.

Honestly since playing Persona, Dragon Age and Mass Effect since my teens I'm glad the relationship system is still present in games even if less these days. They're even treating adults like adults now with no holding back. I won't be playing this till September but I am very hyped

Built my first gaming PC in over ten years roughly 2.5 years ago and BG3 was the first game I picked up, I've been patiently waiting for this time to come.. Deluxe edition bonus.. cant say no to that.. TY Sven and team.

you mean astarion's past isn't common knowledge for most players? i've been letting him bite me (among other things) for all 2.5 yrs of early access, so his entire available backstory has been ingrained in my memory for a long time, so it was shocking to see someone NOT know it 😦

This game is already proving that you dont need $$$ hungry people in charge of game development. You need people that are passionate about the project and are actual fans of the IP. I'm SOOO excited to play the full version of this. Early access already feels like a love letter to RPG fans. This is great.

I appreciate Cohh addressing backlash against pronouns, it reminds me a lot of guys get upset when us women are given a female option to play. The industry still caters far more to men, and as an elder millennial woman who was an only child lucky enough to have a mom guess right that I'd love the NES, this last Xbox showcase was the first I didn't have to hold back getting excited about several games because so many trailers made it obvious there'll be a female option. I actually teared up, because I'm not used to a showcase ending without having to immediately do research whether I can even play it as a girl. It really hit me how guys can just let themselves get hyped most of the time without wondering if there's a male option... I got a small taste of what that's like. I did unfortunately find out on the Girl Gamers subreddit that the Persona 3 remake is actually taking away the female option that already exists 😢 I was looking forward to that one. But I'm so happy we're getting a lot of other options on top BG3 and Starfield. I used to not care as much, but WoW and then Dragon Age, in particular, ruined me lol. It seemed like there were suddenly a lot of choices to play RPGs as a female around 2008-2015. Then it felt like a drought to me, even before Andromeda released and then I never finished the game because I was so bored 😢 I did end up finding other games to fill the time and that's how I got into Larian Studios 😊 I remember wishing DOS2 had cutscenes, and then they showed off BG3, I've been hyped since then and just excited they're trying to fill in that Bioware gap so many of us miss. Although, they have a ways to catch up with Larian, I also gained appreciation for Spiders studio with Greedfall. Not a perfect game, but they managed to make the game unique despite not a totally different environment. I think the studio was purchased not too long ago, so hopefully they just get more resourced than anything. (Omg, what a novel lol, tbf I've had a rough week, one of our three cats was living with heart disease much longer than expected but succumbed to a clot on July 3rd 😢 I'm grateful that we got an extra 15 months with her and she seemed like a healthy cat up until her final moments... but forgive me if my edible kicked in sooner than I expected, resulting in a long rant I'm not sure anyone will see 😅.)

The big difference between Tom cruise incident and Bale is that Tom Cruise is the Executive Producer for the movie he's in. So it quite literally is his job to manage the people handling the set. So the fact that anyone was compromising the movie is his job to handle. Bale was unloading on a guy but it was not his job to approach the guy about what he didn't do. Bale should have let the Producer talk to guy and repremand him if needed. Cruise was the guy who is supposed to handle that situation.

oh man, this game gonna be the end of me. im gonna do at least 1 playthrough with each class and each race. one playthrough where i'll absolutely accept the illithid gift, one where i'll accept the illithid and the absolute. then one playthrough with the dark urge where im just gonna let my urge guide me and one playthrough with the dark urge where im gonna be fighting against the urge like its the last thing imma do on this green earth. oh boy.

Normally in RPG games, I go for a "good side" on my first go. Bit after that Shadowheart "full evil" solo run - I know what I am doing. Also having Dark Urge to be whatever the race/class you want them to be - I think makes it autopick, if you are not picking other origin characters. Simply because you create custom one - you might as well pick Dark Urge, since it adds to it. And having Amelia Tyler as a Narator is AWESOME. (Fun fact - she's also in Hades 2. Which is on my Top 5 hyped upcoming games)

The only thing I’m going to be sad about is not going to be able to go through the origin characters stories since I’m playing with a group 😢. At least there’s the “dark urge” origin story that lets you use a custom character for it but I assume only 1 person can choose it.
