Tp answer your question, the song was written by Brian May (lead guitarist) for the Highlander movie. Each member of the band wrote tracks for the Highlander soundtrack. Such a beautiful, meaningful song. The studio version is absolutely breathtaking, but there is always so special to see Queen perform live. Thanks for your reaction. I was at Wembley that night, it was a great night, one I will never forget, and Freddie proved once again that he is the best frontman of any band ever.

Who Wants To Live Forever, Princes Of The Universe, One Year Of Love, Gimme The Prize, A kind Of Magic were originally written to the Highlander movie and then released on the A Kind of Magic album, and this Wembley concert was a part of their very succesful Magic tour, the last one. Freddie was a born entertainer. Looking forward to your next Queen reaction.

I love this song written by Brian for Queen's soundtrack for the movie Highlander. All four members of Queen were songwriters and they each liked different things so Queen had so many different sounds. Brian wrote this one and also The Show Must Go On. Brian seems to be an empath and his songs seem to display the emotion one might feel in a particular situation or in some cases, they are detailed roadmaps of his own life as in Too Much Love Will Kill You, a song done both by Brian and also by Queen as well as by Brian at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. Brian's own version is the most emotional and revealing by far. If you get the chance, you should watch Brian's music/video of that song. P.S. Bring a tissue. Thank you for your reactions.

Yes, there are five songs which were written for Highlander movie and this is one of them. Please, try something from early Queen, for example Liar or Flick of the Wrist from Queen at the Rainbow /1974/, excellent concert, no one bad song

The real truth is that Brian May wrote this (specifically for the Highlander movie), he did not know that Freddie was ill, and further to that, when Freddie said those, now immortal words on that stage, he was still the ONLY person who knew the potential truth (he was diagnosed HIV+ in 1987, but he suspected long before). Brian is seen smiling as Freddie says it, because he is blissfully unaware of the irony surrounding the moment. Long Live Freddie!
