Good stuff! I just bought mine last December & can relate to all your points. Midrange & topend will make you doubt that this is a 1.6 disguised as a 1.2 lol. Mileage is not it's forte unfortunately, mine barely does 10kmpl inside the city but I feel this is because we have to rev it a bit more than others of the same segment (vs 1.2 of the i10.etc), to keep it moving in stop-go traffic inside the city. Suspension & Steering has always been a weak point of Honda cars made and sold here in India. Handbrake too, is pretty weak. When a car or bike flops in sales here, it's usually an indicator that the product was actually a great one lol

Haha you are right. I think Brio is definitely capable of more than 14km/l easily. Due to our revving, load & bumper to bumper it might differ. I personally feel like steering is pretty light for me for a 10 year old car. Anyways congrats on your purchase.

Hey, I am looking to buy a preowned car, the car usage will be minimal like on weekends. Brio is one of my shortlisted cars. Since I'm new to driving had learnt it couple of months through a driving schoolm should i go with the brio, how is the spare parts availability of the ar along with regular maintainance cost. Any other cars that you would like to suggest example: Ritz (petrol), hyundai i10, beat (petrol), hyundai grand i10m swift 2nd gen (petrol) ? Also what's you though on renault pulse (petrol) or nissan micra (petrol), can this be considered ?

Hi Vaibhav, Thanks for the comment. I can share my experience with Brio, compact & comfortable 3+1 seater car for both city and occasional long drives. Spare parts availablity is decent, even if it is not available at the moment Honda authorised service centers does a good job in procuring from somewhere in India. I had made a maintanence video last year, please check that. This year I got it serviced for 7000 rs. Ritz & i10 are good options any day as it is considered to be one of the best sellers in the second hand market & parts availablity is also decent for them. For now I would suggest you to choose from Ritz, i10, Swift for a hassle free service, parts availablity. Once you become pro in driving, you can go for a new car. Renault, Nissan is better to avoid.

@@automanonboard1279 Do you suggest Honda Jazz 2016 model petrol variant if available under ₹4 lakhs ? A grand i10 asta optional 2014 petrol (with airbags and ABS) is available under ₹3.20 lakhs Similarly a Brio V MT 2014 is available under ₹3.25 lakhs Hyundai i10 Magna 2013 is available under ₹2 lakhs I tried to check for Ritz through a direct seller but still not able to get it. I want to avoid purchasing it through the dealer as the margins are high and they price a 8 year old Ritz for about ₹3.50 lakhs that too vxi (without ABS)

I have tried only a couple of times, if the car is balanced with people it is stable & if single I feel speeding is not safe. 100 - 110 is not an issue. I pushed till 130 & not more than that.

A very happy new year to you!! I have the same VX MT but 2017 model. I feel that all the points you made are valid as I'm experiencing the exact same issue. As you said, midrange is beautiful but during the bumper to bumper traffic is a huge pain as there is not much low-end torque. I'm getting city mileage around 8.5 kmpl. Brakes as well, sometimes it's strong & sometimes it takes time to brake, 50/50 situation. Same case with handbrake when parking in elevation. ASC mechanic says that everything is fine and there's no problem anywhere. I was thinking I was paranoid but relieved to see I'm not the only guy facing the issue. Apart from this, Honda Brio cars as a whole are fabulous. Sad to see that this is an underrated car and see only old people are driving this car around me.

Feels good to read your comment. Glad am in correlation with the audience. You are right, i forgot to mention the word bumper to bumper. It's really an ache that too if the car is fully loaded with 3+1. Take it for a spin on highways & check the mileage, i feel 8.5 is pretty low that too if you are a single passenger. But i understand if you are in a metro & commuting to office daily on Brio, that's acceptable. I thought mine was an old model & may be due to that am facing the braking issue but hearing from a 2017 owner is little surprising. Wish Honda brings back Brio to India.
