Read a lot of his articles when I was a boy. Never knew he also had a great sense of humor. Began shooting at 15 with a 1911, went through a revolver phase, a hi-cap plastic pistol phase but now in my forties a basic 1911 is what I carry. I have come back full circle.

I also took a turn on the dark side (Glocks) but returned to my senses. I’ve been shooting 1911’s since 1968, why change now. They are old friends of mine.

@@maxmccain8950 I'm a millennial but I gravitated toward the 1911 when shooting at a gun range since it was the gun I shot best (well least shit) with as an untrained teen with non-gun owning parents. The ergonomics and especially the trigger are still unbeatable to this day. Slap on a double stack frame for 15+1 .45ACP and some rails to mount accessories and it's still a thoroughly modern handgun.

Its easy to forget, but this was back in the day before there were any 'out of the box' 1911's that were close to being match grade. If you wanted a good trigger or sights, you were sending it off to have it done!

Speaking to that and the change in how peope think of guns. In 1969 I worked at a Govt facility on the Bethesda Med Ctr i Wash DC and watched over a 2 month period as two members of a competition club ACCURIZED their own 1911' s at work.in their lab. LOL Both operated scientific equionents that ran all day with no intervention. so they had roughly 7hr 45min to work on their pistols. I made a set of walnut grips and a trigger shoe for my revolver. Most everybody knew and nobody got upset. Try entering a Govt building today with a weapon of any kind. LOLOL

@Dill Rogerz Laws also changed drastically. The revolver I mentioned had been bought in 1965 thru the mail from Herters by one of those 2 guys working 1911's, for his wife, she didnt like it so he sold it to me in 1967;- no paper work, and no laws were broken. (those kinds of transactions ended with the 1968 GCA) and so did "that kind of working" in the l;ab LOL

I’ve heard nothing but good things about Col. Cooper. But he just said a beretta has a 24 lbs DA pull.. and an 11 lbs SA pull. The more I watch his videos the more I see he just gives his opinion as fact. He seems so in love with himself.

isn't he talking about like wayyy back in the day when u had to have you're trigger and sights changed out just to have a manageable weapon? like before weapons came out of the box at match grade>?

For the M9 it would be 5.5lbs (2.5kg) SA, 12.33lbs (5.6kg) for DA.

I'm sure a GrandMaster in this field. But he forgot to re-chamber his weapon and place that round that he put on the desk back in his magazine. Great video though.
