Col. Jeff Cooper on the "Shoot First" Critique 

I discovered Col. Coopers books in the local library when I was 11 or 12 years old, and they influenced me significantly. As a young kid who was the lone firearms enthusiast in my family, he and Massad Ayoob’s books kept me away from a lot of very bad (and very common) advice from the many sportsmen, hunters, and shooters I knew.

99.9% of people with a gun will avoid the situation if they can. Confrontation , risk and danger is not what people seek.

This man was a great human being.

He was NOT a “colonel”.
