Claude Whitacre has over 40 years of direct sales experience. In that time, he has trained hundreds of salespeople He is the author of six books on the subject of selling, as well as hundreds of articles. He has spoken to over 200 audiences across the US on how to how to find highly likely prospects and closing in one sales call.
Retiring in 2022 from actively selling, Claude wanted to give back to the sales and marketing fields by teaching the strategies and techniques that have proven so effective in his own selling.
One of the many strategies and practices Claude implemented over the decades is working with over 200 top salespeople on real sales appointments, in 71 different industries. He would work with them for a day, prospecting and going on sales appointments, with them. Then they would work with him in the field for a day. Eventually, Claude determined that about 98% of everything he used in his own selling was actually learned from top salespeople outside of his own core industry.
To pay forward what Claude has learned, he wanted to give salespeople the opportunity to benefit from what he did....learn from the best salespeople, experts, sales authors, and trainers from all over the country.
This podcast is that effort.
Claude has videos and articles on the following subjects.
Sales prospecting, cold calling, referral prospecting, social selling, referral selling, sales prospecting training, referral prospecting training, sales prospecting techniques, how to get the best referrals, how to cold call strategically, best cold calling techniques, sales training, best closing techniques, answering sales objections, and one call closing.

Really loved this video! what a refreshing change from the old “Hi how are you doin? Just calling to see if you would like to be my best friend?” 😂 People have family and friends, don’t think they need another one, keep the calls short and sweet and help them if they need what you offer...Love it.

Hi Claude. A great video. I'm devouring your videos and books at the moment. Fantastic content. Thanks. In your book 'The Unfair Advantage', how you explain the importance of building and nurturing a HERD is really well explained. You've really helped me think through an area I was stuck in. Regards. John from Ireland.

Claude I love your videos.... I have a question however about this, how much interest do you need for a presentation to occur?
@sputnik163
@sputnik163 7 лет назад
To clarify I usually only start to sell once they act extremely interested

I normally get them to ask me a question or show a little interest before I start a presentation. It takes very little for me to simply stop. If I see they aren't engaged, I'll ask if they would like to know more.....anything other than "Yes' means it's over. To me, it's more telling if they quickly become more interested as we go along. I ask quite a few qualifying questions to make sure they are likely buyers. But any initial interest by them (as long as they are qualified ) will get my presentation started. But they have to stay engaged, ask questions, and show increased interest...or I know I'm losing them. And once they start pulling away, it's almost impossible to get them back. Much of this goes on non-verbally. They may not even be aware of the signals they are putting out.

I think he just sold to ppl who like to get to the point. Some ppl just want to know how much and what for and if they have the money they buy.

I appreciate the thought. But no, he just didn't know what else to say at the door. He told me it took him about a week to knock on doors to get 100 people to talk to him. That's not on the video. What he was getting were those rare people that were going to buy a new vacuum cleaner that day, and he just talked to them before they went shopping. An approach that taught me something about selling. There are those "I'm ready to buy" people out there if you look hard enough.

That 1 in 300 guy reminds me of a scene in a movie, where the guy in a bar brags to his buddies he gets laid every night. When asked how, he replied, "I just go up to women and ask them, 'Do you want to leave this place and go fuck?' Eventually, I hit on a 'Sure. Let's go!'" . A crude strategy, but then, the guy did sell 3 $800 sales by knocking on 300 doors. At 100 doors a day, his close rate is one sale per day. With an $800 item, the commish probably wasn't to bad...25% or 30% of the gross, so he was knocking down $220.00 per day. That's $55K per year. It's not my M.O., but damned I ain't impressed!

Are people still buying vacuum cleaners from sales people in today’s day n age? Like back in the days (like in 60s or 70s) Interesting ...

There are still people selling vacuums in people's homes. But there are far fewer than a couple of decades ago. The reason is that consumers can usually buy the same thing online for much less. It really hurts sales.
