Ughghhh, it's physically impossible to watch this episode without having at least a single tear fall from your eye. You honestly cannot sit through the entire episode, and be dry-eyed by the end. This has to be one of the best episodes of Cold Case ever.
This episode was so heabreaking and SO good! Just re-watched it again last night n I'm still crying :'( but one thing I just nerver could accept is them letting go of the wheel, it makes NO sense! so what if the bridge was closed of they could still drive over it n then just live happy ever after in NYC
The ending does suggest that Rose dies on the park bench and then reunites with Billie...because the last scene is them walking together and it fades, just like the ending of Titanic with Jack and Rose, the last image is them together...indicative she died an old woman in her bed. Cold Case had excellent episodes, always emotional. I wish they didn't cancel it. One of the best shows ever, they just don't make television this good anymore.
+Marina S This ending of Cold Case completely reminded me of the ending of Titanic too. The lovers are reunited in the afterlife, it's a beautiful ending!
I like the way Billie holds out her hand and nods her head as if to say, "C'mon, I got a better place for us to go."...damn Cold Case Files for making me an emotional wreck! Love when the "dead" person finally "moves on" after being vindicated. :')
I always find star-crossed lovers more interesting than couples who were "meant to be together". Love doesn't come where or when you want it, but when it happens its one of the most beautiful and tragic things.
One of the best shows on TV and the music is always incredible ! Also love the way they flash back and forth with the timeline, showing the characters then and now....... Brilliant !
@@nonnon7270 : I'm binging the show on my smart TV and just saw this episode again........ WOW ! Incredible and what beautiful music and story. Very tastefully done !
This series brought some light to the world. I wish I could have done such a great thing too. I love it .This music ... simple, beautiful. So together it is perfect. Many thanks to the creators. Many parts were like a therapy ... brought the healing cry. THANK YOU!
The ending song is called Best Friends and was written by Michael Levine for this episode. I think this was the first episode to use an original composition in the closing sequence.
ITs tough - but this IS my absolute favorite episode of Cold Case. These two young actresses were completely believable, the girl from Veronica Mars I think found her role of a lifetime in this story. Lesbian in 1932, - AND an inter-racial couple as well? Phenomenal. And the amazing way the chase scene was shot - thrilling, really one of a kind. And Piper Laurie - sure looks changed since she played the religious nut mother in the original 'Carrie" But the poetry! Especially the one about Billie being beaten up on the street - wow. Whoever wrote those poems.....pitch perfect. Second favorite? Also a close call but I gotta say, 'Forever Blue"., the 2 cops from 1968. Third the one from 1984, the blonde boy who just wanted to dance Shuffle Ball Change- amazing casts and story lines.
ce passage me donne des frissons , je suis litteralement happé par la l'émotion de l'histoire en parfaite harmonie avec l'intensité de la musique,et je ne peux m'empêcher de pleurer.
So nostalgic , i find myself lying on my bed looking at the ceiling. Every hurtful moment comes to mind , makes me shed tears that i have been holding in for years and how much i miss someone that i am nom longer with, this doesnt make sense but i thought it did,
I dedicated this to my first love Suzy and when I recite it to people they say oh my god that is beautiful. I loved Suzy to the ends of the earth but she broke my heart
do u think when she gets the book she opens her heart and let all things be peaceful. Im thinking she passed soon after...perhaps, y she sees the old lover and then she's with her young and forever in heaven. together. any thought?
I am unable to watch this video without crying. I can't imagine what it would be like to be a lesbian in the 1930s, to have to live a double life. It's just like Romeo and Juliet, except Billie was shot in the head. I know what it's like to keep a secret like that, and Rose deserves every accolade.
Rose should of been charged lesbian romance aside she still committed murder of billy in the 30s . Just because she survived the failed fatal suicide attempt with Billy doesn't excuse the crime this is the only crime on coldcase that was never justified..
Tiffany - Do you really feel this way, or are you just posting this to throw a wet blanket on others' emotions? There was no 'murder' to me as I feel any and all actions would have been understood and acceptable to both of them.
Not sure why it says "Bessie Smith", but the piece is actually called Best Friends and another arrangement that occurs elsewhere in the show is on the Cold Case album. www.amazon.com/Cold-Case-Best-Seasons-1-4/dp/B001GH0VTG/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1416263534&sr=1-1&keywords=cold+case

@@Tiffanyhlcmb yes it was. That's why she wasn't charged. It was only by chance that Billie died and Rose didn't. She didn't mean to "murder" her which she didn't. So why don't YOU stfu with the inaccuracies. Clearly you know nothing about the law and how details matter.
That's bullshit and you know it if the roles were reversed and billy survived she would've been charged and convicted because rose was white and considering the time period it happened. So fuck the law it's on a convenient loop holes for some people not all. Now carry on with your day...
@@Tiffanyhlcmb well that's neither here nor there in this story. Either way the facts are that it was accidental and that's why Rose didn't get charged. Now maybe if Billie had survived and then gotten caught in that time period then yes she would have gotten convicted. But if she had done as Rose had and just ran away and lived a "normal" life then she wouldn't have been convicted over 60 yrs later either.
