I remember this episode, the Spanish guy and the woman who killed a few other women making them believe they were on dating marriage...Few Cold Case fans know this but this episode is based on the Lonely Hearts killers Raymond Fernandez and Martha Beck, who killed some 20 women from New York to Michigan in the late 1940s and 1950s, targeting them because all the them shared - all the women were lonely and joined dating clubs at that time, some were single mothers looking for men to share their lives with. Both were executed in New York City in 1951
I read about that in a book about serial killers. And then I thought "wait, I have seen this in an episode of a series". Even the names were almost the same.
I'm a brazilian girl and when I watched this episode of Cold Case I just loved it so much! 'cause of the story, the musics, and 'cause of "Ramon" hahaha he's perfect! I found out he's brazilian, so hot!
I feel so sorry for these women. They did nothing to deserve their lot in life except being born with the wrong genes. They were victims of Mother Nature's cruel game.
It's fair to say that this was one of the most bizarre episodes of network television drama I've ever seen. If I ever seen the whole ep again, it will be too soon.
Believe it or not this episode is inspired by a real life couple Martha Beck & Raymond Fernandez dubbed The Lonely Heart Killers during late 1940s. They only charged for one murder but suspected of at least 20. They both received the death penalty
@wayneb137 I'd rather be the sheepdog that faces down the wolves to protect the sheep. Or the Ram with it's large horns tthat headbutts the wolf into oblivion.
Thats CHEATING!!! You can't use Alone by Heart. DAMN YOU COLD CASE you make another song I love into something that will ALWAYS depress the hell out of me... damnit...
im kinda confused .... In the end, did Ramon actually really love Martha or was it something else especially since he was watching Martha's tape right before he shot himself?
Yes, he did love her after a while in the "partnership" although he didn't in the beginning. He didn't want to live without her anymore and committed suicide while watching her video. The last picture he wanted to see was hers.
They had an episode where they reopened the case of a guy on death row. It's called "Death Penalty: FInal Appeal" and it is in Season 3. It was the best argument against the death penalty I have seen.
