It was Rowdy Burns car Mello Yellow gave them money to race and they put the name on the car, this guy makin the vid really messed up, there first win netted them "Superflo" oil company sponsorship
Rowdy never drove it. I understand it’s Rowdy’s # on it, and that Mello Yello payed them to race with their name on the car but all in all Cole beat his rival in that car. Cole won Daytona in it. It’s Coles car, no questions asked.
I think it was owned by Rick Hendricks,,but from what I hear a company called,," Laughlin race restoration was thame last ones to own it. Brings back memories..I was a teen when I saw this in the movies. Thanks for bringing back memories brother..touch my heart when I saw the car🥲🥲
That's so sad to see 😔 Cause I'm hearing the soundtrack right now in the car and now I'm seeing this 😭 But I'm happy to read, that the car is in a museum now 😊🫡❤️
Oh!!!!!! tingles down my spine, but that quote "we got ourselves a sponsor!!!" was after there first win and they netted Superflo, That was Rowdy Burns car but Yello Mello put up the money, to let them race the car at Daytona, so they put the name on the car, fun fact Tom Cruise actually was a race car driver before he went into acting
I dont ever remember anything in the movie about the mellow yellow sponsorship except it was on the car. I watched the movie probably a few thousand times easily as a child. Am i just not remembering that part?
@brucem6442 It was kinda hidden, But when Tim said I didn't think you guys had a sponsorship, Harry said well the gave us just about as much money to put their name on the car.
Why would these cars including Russ wheelers, Rowdy Burns, all have been abandoned in fields to rot and overgrowth, and Junk yards? Just like Snowman's truck and trailer, the original one is all gone... Not sure if anyone found them.
@@miregoji2959 they used it at Carowinds amusement park for the days of thunder ride/theatre. It was on a turntable right as you walked in the theatre.
❤plz go back and do a moree indepth video plz, more interior and point a camera under at the chassis plz, logos look mm perfect unlike a few in museums 😊thank you soo much for posting this clip
In the movie life, was Mello yellow only a 1 race deal? Didn't rowdy say Exxon would come back if had top 5? (Yes, I think about stupid shit all the time lol)
There is a guy trying to collect all the cars from this movie most are in super bad shape but this one looks pretty solid and im sure that guy would love to have that
Yeah but he also doesn't want to touch them in anyway. So some that are absolute WRECKS (from being left outside for 35 yrs, being vandalised or moved around) are going to stay that way. Amd he's using them as an attraction to his business. If he was making them close film condition I'd be down.
That car is missing some decals. Also this wasn't cole's sponsor. He drove the car for injured rowdy when nobody would sponsor him. Did you actually watch the movie?
Did you watch the movie numb Nuts Cole was the only to drive the mellow yellow sponsored car in the final race at Daytona but it was number 51 not 17 so not sure this was an actual movie car or another painted the same either way do some research before you open your mouth 😅
@mikehoncho3695 ofcorse he drove it. But it wasn't his fucking car or his sponsor numb nuts. The number 51 car belonged to Rowdy. You ain't schooling someone on a movie they grew up watching.
