Looked a lovely fresh morning with a cracking sunrise and views. I tend to avoid the forests in summer because of the midges, and this looked like a good place to camp. Nice one Jimmy 👍👍

Brilliant video mate got a good insight and the place looks awesome. Keep up your great videos brother always enjoyable and always down to earth. Cheers bud
Thanks for watching mate appreciate the kind words glad it's helped with you future camp have a cracking night out the weather is looking good I will be over the other side of the valley atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Thanks for watching mate appreciate it ye it's a cracking area and I will be doing more like this as well as being out in the woods best of both worlds atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
The highest hills don't always have the best views, that hill you were on certainly had cracking views. Tents are always a pain in the arse up on the hills, it's part of the fun...I'm lying of course
Thanks for watching Si appreciate it mate ye it's a cracking hill for sure I've got the hill camping but at the moment I enjoy the walks I'm sure I will get used to pitching the tent it's a good one lot's of space for those crappie weather camp's atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Nice one Jimmy, I enjoyed that (eventually starting to catch up on your camping vids). It's not a hill I've camped before, but I've hiked up there in the past. You took the better way in, in my opinion, even if you did go off course at one point 🤣 Tent looks canny, I'm sure you can put it up in record time now, looked solid as well and like you said, a nice liveable porch area. Great to see you enjoying the hill camping, it's a feeling like no other! And always nice to have a bit company. Catch ya on the next one Jimmy, thumbs up from me. ATB, DVS :)
Thanks for watching Donna appreciate it mate ye I'm loving the hill's at the moment can't stay away from the Cheviots definitely something special about the place I never thought I would choose a hill camp over the woods this camp was amazing the 360 view's from such a small hill was amazing I love the walks in and out I do prefer my Helm compact one but the hexpeak is so roomy glad you enjoyed it your drone footage is mint I'm not getting the chance to fly mine as its always too windy and I'm not very good with it 🤣🤣 atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Stone the crows Jim I only just bought one😂 now to scared to use it. Mind you, having to waterproof the seams should have told me something. All the best to you.👍👌🚴♂️
Thanks for watching mate appreciate it this was my first time putting it up definitely recommend putting it up a few times before going out camping it's a cracking tent mate lots of room atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Fantastic jimmy. I do like your forest camps but i just love seeing you out in the hills. Im biased as i love our hills here. Ya smashed that hike in. Your enthusiasm is infectious. Damn shame about that tent mind cos it looked really nice. Thoroughly enjoyed this. Thanks for bringing such great content as always. Take care
Thanks for watching Emz really appreciate it mate ye it's a amazing part of Northumberland I really enjoyed it especially the walk in the scenery was amazing I'm already planning my next hill camp and a big day walk but I do love my woodland camps atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Thanks for watching Mark appreciate it mate ye it's a shame the tent is a nightmare for setting up I will be giving it a few more go's but if it's still a nightmare it's going the room inside is great to be honest I enjoyed the camp stunning up there atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Awesome video per usual. Beautiful scenery, you can see for ever and a day. Next time google parking lots near me 🥸. Though you earned the views with your effort. It must be a pain in the arse hiking 🥾 and wrangling the camera 🎥, with the walking back and forth. Cheers 🍻, take care and stay frosty ☃️🍺🫵🤟🇨🇦🫡🇬🇧🤟🫵🍺☃️
Thanks for watching Ian appreciate it as always mate ye it was amazing up there the view's were stunning all round and I hit lucky with the weather aswell walking back and forth doing video shots can be a pain but I like to try and get some good shots for the video hopefully that's how it looks 🤣🤣 atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Hi Jimmy, magic, I love Cold Law with a young one you can take the close route or for a walk, take the way you went, that’s a car area for the shooters when they have their days out, I know we like the forest, but in the summer when there’s a breeze we have the Cheviots with no midges wahey, great camp Cheers Adrian
Thanks for watching Adrian appreciate it mate ye we are lucky having so many options for camping I thought that was for the shooter's lot's of grouse up there atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Thanks for watching Mark appreciate it mate I can see myself doing more mountain camp's I really enjoyed the last two already planning my next trip but there's nothing better than chilling in front of a nice fire with a JD's and good food atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Good stuff Jimmy, something abit different, enjoyable all the same Bet the protein from those flies gave you just the extra push ya needed 😆 Know what you mean about some folk going out with less than 10kg, dunno how they do it, gotta be compromising somewhere right?? My new rucksack weighs heavier than most people's tents it seems (and my own) 😆 , and with a dog, going lightweight isn't really a choice for me (of course I have to carry his food, bedding and extra water) Don't mind woodland camps or hill camps, spent time in both myself. Take care All the best, Dave (and Buddy the doggo, of course)
Thanks for watching Dave appreciate it mate ye 10kg in a pack that's nearly the weight of our drink definitely not leaving that behind 🤣🤣 I will keep carrying what I can until my body says no going to be mixing it up this year but woodland camps are my favourite atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Good effort, but I'd feel very exposed up there without trees. Knowing my luck, I'd just be in the middle of a shovel recce and a fleet of RU-vidr Drones would fly over.
Thanks for watching Rob appreciate it mate ye I had to do a shovel reeceup there in the rain best toilet with a view but my head was like a owls constantly spinning around hopping not to get caught with my pants around my ankles 🤣🤣 atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Absolutely brilliant video again, I just wished my feet were good so I could walk the distances you and your mates do! The cheviots are stunning, let’s hope not too many people catch on! Till the next time………
Thanks for watching Alfie appreciate it mate ye it's a fantastic place to adventure it can get busy with campers and walkers but it's a massive place atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Thanks for watching mate appreciate it ye I'm going to be doing lots of different camp's and other stuff on the channel this year I really enjoyed this camp atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Good one jimmy , get an ol scrambler motorbike for them trails 😂 , amazing views you had up there - I too am not a fan of hiking pole tents ,I know it cuts weight but not by much with the new poles available. Thanks for the work you put in , best of luck 👍
Thanks for watching Alan appreciate it mate ye I will take it out on a few more camps before I make a decision on it but the space inside is great for those crappie weather camps atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
I really wonder why you found this tent so hard to setup. - I agree, it is not as easy as an MSR hooped tent but I find it honestly easy to setup, even in challenging conditions. Yes, practicing in your backyard before you take it out is helpful. It takes me less than 5 min to have the outer up: pegging out the four points that are set into the correct positions by the two connection straps, put in the remaining two pegs, then erect the pole on the inside. Done! - What did you use as a pole that you had issues with it collapsing? I use my two walking poles with the connection piece that Luxe sell. I never had any slippage on it. - Yes, putting up the inner takes another 5 min but by that time, I am out of the rain and don't really care how long it takes. If I stake out the additional 5 mid-pegs and the five guylines, that's another 5 min but only required if it is really windy. - So, yes, agree, you won't have this entire tent up in 5 min but you can be out of the rain in 5 min. I have a Tyvek ground sheet that I sometimes use (Ebay) that has exactly the correct shape and the six main pegging points. If you use that to erect the tent, you are even faster, probably 3 min. I just find it too heavy to take with me on multi-day hikes. - Anyway, we all have views about the gear we use and that's why there is so much selection. If you don't like the tent, I hope you can sell it to somebody who likes it more :-)
Thanks for watching mate appreciate your comment ye I did have a few problems I should have had more practice to be honest I've now got the poll they sell and will be back out in it again in the summer months definitely practice before hand the space inside is amazing and it's a strong tent atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
@@LundysWildcampBushcraft , I watched your other video where you used the tent in the woods and it looked like you got on with it a lot better there. To be honest, one of the things I like about it, is pitching it in strong winds. You put in the pegs on the six corners while the tent fly stays on the ground. You can kneel on it to ensure that it doesn't fly away. You then have to just put in the centre pole and the tent stands. With hooped tents I have always struggled more in strong winds. Once you have put in one of the long poles, the tent fly billows in the wind and the whole thing becomes a big sail. - Anyway, enjoy it on your summer trips. I am taking it out for four days from the coming weekend in the Scottish Borders.
Can set up a Hexpeak in less than 10 minutes, and its great at swallowing uneven ground, personally i love it. Stick with it, its a palace in bad weather, but we're all different i guess 🤷
Thanks for watching mate appreciate it ye its a cracking tent I just need a bit more practice at putting it up I do like the space it gives you atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
🤣🤣🤣 thanks for watching Deka appreciate it mate ye it's definitely something that I will enjoy I like the walking bit and it's something different atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
