We always tend to get a cold snap during the Alaska winter, but this may be the coldest I have experienced while living off grid. Not much changes, except that, the dog gets to sleep inside, snowmobiles are a lot harder to start, you can only last outside playing or doing chores for maybe an hour, and we go through a LOT more firewood. Other than those things, it is life as usual. And usually when it is cold, the sun is shining, so that is a huge bonus.
