We were a bit apprehensive about taking the kids to New Orleans, but it turned out to be a great stop!
We walked the French Quarter and got café au lait & beignets. Then we wanted to check out the Joan of Arc statue since the girls did a study on her in school. Other highlights were the Children's Museum, The Audubon Aquarium, and the Creole Queen paddle wheel boat we took up the Mississippi River on a 3 hour tour...
When we decided to go to New Orleans we obviously knew we had to try the local cuisine. It is INCREDIBLE down here!!
The cajun food exceeded our expectations. We got boudin balls, hushpuppies, fried oysters, crab cakes, po-boys, and the most INSANE sandwich I've ever put in my mouth: the Muffuletta!
The entire 4 days was a pleasant surprise, and if we ever go back it would mostly be for the beignets and muffuletta!
