Hello! Basic rule with the Citroen GS / CX / Xantia / XM suspension: NEVER EVER leave the front wheels at an angle to the car, It damages the suspension lines and the brake lines. ALWAYS leave the front wheels parallel to the body of the car when parking up for any length of time.

Xantia and XM's yes (especially for strut tops), but not on GS's (everything is fixed : front struts & front brakes too, on the gearbox). On a CX you mostly can't because of the very common Diravi.
My Mum had one till 1985, it was a fantastic car to travel in, not very fast but comfy and the distance just melted away without any fuss, the car world went in a wrong direction.
Hi thank you. But I had got one student friend in the 80's who drove her grandma Citroen GS from 1971: in these cold conditions, it was an other story to start it and often "starting spray" was obligatory; initially, her grandma had an internal pre-heating system in her GS (completely new in France in this time), but this system had broken and the warming of the car was long, but necessary with the half-automatic system .....But I think the following models were better. Thanks again to maintain on life this great car !
Please drive in the normal Position, the Lever of Suspension levels is the ahead Position. Gs/a haven't a low Position. There are just normal, middle high ( Velocity max 30 to 40 km/h) and maximum high (only Step-Velocity) Adjustment. ❤❤
Very interesting car, first serie with the "pointed rear lights". I recommend covering it or bringing it inside during the wet season. Anti-corrosion of the 70s isn't very effective, and because its suspension, too close to the ground
@@sandorelo1302 I love all time when you upload the videos with cars when is starting hard ❤️ I'm watching on your channel all time to check for this type of videos ! You're great with this videos !
my first car in 1985 was a small Citroen Visa with the 650ccm two cylinder air cooled engine, even starting at temperatures lower than -20°C was never a problem. The only thing was, because of the air cooling, when you were driving, your breath was freezing at the front window even the heating was fully opened and the heat exchangers were in very good condition (as the whole car was). Therefore, at extreme winter temperatures, I had to slow down, shifting from fourth to third gear both for lowering speed and to increase rpm to get more hot air to the windshield. This was especially exiting while driving on the Autobahn, so I switched on the hazard warning signal, pretending I had a technical problem. Truck drivers were not amused^^ Good grief, when you are 18, you are so clueless about what might happen because of your stupid actions! But, to be honest, -13°C is not very impressive for starting a car.
...my father had the 1100cc gs, what a piece of junk , constantly problems with the suspension balls, distribution, and carburettor sub pressure membrane...he sold it,and got a 1988 3door Toyota starlet 1.0 ... problems solved...
@@sandorelo1302 No but it will turn the engine around faster with the thicker oil and provide a bigger spark. A faster rotating engine gets better air flow through the carburator venturi(s) and a better and finer fuel mixture, resulting in easier starting. Graphs for inner resistance of lead/ acid batteries vs temperature can easily be found. Thanks for the compliment.
@@sandorelo1302 i don't understand why people get mad, of all the GS i've seen from my own few were working, obviously this one isn'y rotting in a field and is being taken care of, it looks good.
