The man is a poet, songwriter, musician and from the best i can tell, a good human being. Thanks for posting this video, thanks Colin for singing it, it is an anthem for a country. If only we had a choice, we could chose between waltzing Matilda and Land down under, now that would be a democracy.
This really is amazing. It is wonderful and I listen often now. And share this too. All amazed and impressed as I am. Wonderful voice and presentation. Great version. This is the best version by a million miles and the other sounds shallow and boring by comparison. This is how it should have been done.
Tom Peary It sure is a great song. I've tried to find a good cover version but no one really conveys the song like Colin Hay. There's something about the lyrics; it's about being lonely while travelling but it's also about the toughness of being an Auz.

Wish I had just one day to hang out with Colin Hay. I bet I would learn more about life, love, music, and performing in one day than I have in the 25 years I've been a performing musician. Maybe some day...one can only hope right?
