Fine Art Tutorials. In this video I demonstrate the techniques I use when drawing and sketching using water soluble graphite pencils. Ebsite: colinsteedart.com
That was great. Had just tried graphite soluble pencils prior to watching your clip. Gave me good ideas. Thanks. Is there any particular brand you use or recommend??
Amazing result Colin and thanks for answering the question Kathy asked, I was going to ask for the selfsame reason no doubt. Greatly appreciate your video Colin
Interesting! It was fun to learn about a new (for me) technique. Miss your talking us through it, but I can see why you chose to present it this way. 😊 Also, I see why you chose to use a blunt pencil rather than sharp. Will try that. Linda G
Hi Linda. Yes, I use a blunt pencil because, when I shade, I cover a large area much quicker. I decided, for this one, that just watching without commentary was the best option. Next week, I will demonstrate how I produced a watercolour of this subject. Thanks for watching.
Thanks Colin for showing us your drawing of this scene.i love drawing .it's great to see a place appear on a blank sheet I think it's magic.thank you.🍀🍀
Thanks, Deborah. Sketching a subject before attempting a painting is always a good idea. You learn so much about the scene before you paint. Take care 🎨 👍.
Thank you Colin! I have been looking at these Graphitint pencils for quite some time but just wasn’t sure how to best use them. I appreciate the knowledge you give in your tutorials.
Thank you for watching. Graphite pencils are my favourite for making sketches. You end up with a tonal watercolour and can work up a watercolour using that as reference.
A good strong drawing is interesting even without color. Well done. To see the live scene first and your technique of drawing without erasing at all highlights your professional skill. Thank you for sharing.
