I saw the WichiState vs. Cal Ploy game live. It was never competitive. I also saw Louisville and NC A&T. Louisville just kept turning them over. Their defense was scary good.
As a Gators fan even I forgot about that game against Norfolk State lol. All I remember from that tournament is Florida blowing a 9 point lead (or something like that) late in the second half against Louisville in the Elite 8 (can you tell I'm still upset about it?)
I attended USC-Drake, and as an Indiana resident the 2021 tournament was an absolute blast. The game was fun but surreal with stadium at 25% capacity. However the game that year that I actually forgot about recently was FSU-UNCG.
The Southern versus Gonzaga game I feel is as forgotten as the near upset with UNC-Asheville versus Syracuse, but the Asheville one had a very controversial out of bounds call where they should’ve had a chance but never did. I remember the Southern game, they got cold toward the end of it and they were so close, hanging with Gonzaga that whole game.
@@hanyuzhu7276 I do remember that one, the scoreboard definitely didn’t tell the story of that game. I forgot to mention that Western Kentucky-Kansas game from 2013 as well, the Hilltoppers only lost by 7 points and Kansas barely did enough to get by.
"Gonzaga was not good" Talking about the #1 overall seed that lost to a team that made the Final 4, was the #1 overall seed the following year, and had 3 NBA players on the roster.
@@whatlol_e was he? Because the very next sentence he mentions how they lost in the 2nd round as a 1 seed. In the year he was talking about. Still doesn’t make up for the fact that no one remembers that game because it was completely irrelevant
@@evanolivas5035 What a low, low IQ take. They beat up on short bus teams all year. Which is why they went to 5 Elite 8s in the last decade and made 2 championship game appearances.
I watched the OSU vs Loyola Chicago game and it was so boring i wasn’t even nervous thinking about if OSU lost. I honestly forgot it was a March madness game😂
Other forgettable/random games - #12 Western Kentucky (Beat Drake on buzzer beater) vs #13 San Diego (Beat UConn on buzzer beater) 2008 Round of 32 - #7 Butler (Brad Steven's rookie HC season) vs #10 South Alabama (Sun Belt at-large???) 2008 Round of 64 - #6 Baylor vs #11 Nebraska (never in the tournament) 2014 Round of 64 - #6 UCLA (Shabazz Muhammad POY) vs #11 Minnesota (Up-and-down year in Big Ten with Hollins brothers) 2013 Round of 64 - #12 South Florida (Yes they were in the Big East at the time) vs #13 Ohio (Clark Kellogg's son's team) 2012 Round of 32 - #8 UNLV vs #9 Kent State (MAC team as a #9 seed?) Mid Majors were picked more often back then) 2008 Round of 64
This is such a weird video topic too. Some of these games are forgotten because they are completely irrelevant. A 1 seed or 2 seed winning in a blow out against a no-name mid major is not noteworthy in any way.
@Wam-mw7tk by weird I meant bad. These games weren’t interesting. They are not interesting games that were lost to collective consciousness for some reason. They were just boring games that had no memorable moments. Might as well make a video on any sport and just be like “remember this 3-1 baseball game played in June 2013?” The video title got me to believe these were gonna be crazy games that were overshadowed or important but just not brought up. Instead they were “remember when a 1 seed blew out a 16 seed?” Like that doesn’t happen every year
@@revalency it’s just lazy content that mouth breathers think is good because it is technically “accurate” to the title. Even though, like you said, it’s clearly trying to draw you in with games you’d say “damn I forgot about this great game”. Instead it’s “wow a 1 seed beat a 16 seed by 17 points. Who would have guessed”
Yeah like obviously I don’t remember Wichita St and Cal Poly. Why would I? An interesting one would be like (7) Minnesota vs (10) Louisville a few years back, just a random game but a solid one
I feel like an underrated one you missed was Kentucky VS West Virginia in 2015's Sweet Sixteen where Kentucky beat them 78-39, the half time score was 44-19 It was expected to be a competitive game, but was anything but that
