@RyanMoody21 first off I want to thank you. Everything you do on Madden series and now the college football 25 is appreciated. Keep ignoring your haters and naysayers. Electronic Arts has essentially stolen our opportunities of playing the highest quality NFL and college football games with those horrible exclusive licensing agreements. People can't ignore what you're doing.
@RyanMoody21 only by a few cuz it's be 11 years acourse it's going to be issues with the game nothing is perfect u know it's a video game not real life
Die hard football fan and this cfb 25 is a letdown. Has solid base and potential. It only 27gb, no online ranked games , that 3min quarter cfp is shit show. Not enough content. Ea got us again. Should be $40
It's so hard to enjoy the game when the D-Line is SCREAMING at you on every play because your O-Line just stands by and watches them run past them. My QB is getting his head knocked off every play because of this.
Dude foreal I can't even go through my progressions I'm sacked by two dudes in 2 seconds of hiking the damn ball and I'm playing as Ohio State and Akron is bullying my lineman it's an embarrassment
@@edwardjones1482 Yep, I agree. Sometimes you have no choice but to just take the sack. Except against 71 rated team, took 3 straight sacks to a super jacked lineman who was a star player, turned out to have a 80 rating.
@@Jacket01 Yep, thats true, nothing has changed in that matter. Well 25 RTG has verticals all day under 2 min warning. wanting your QB to just throw a pick.
It’s awful. No editing. Custom Conference is jacked. Simulation is awful. Freezes mid game. The coach models are horrendous. Everyone looks like a 25 year old with a beard. This game is an F compared to 14 on PS4. $99 for early release and nearly everything is broken.
@@hitek9too255 Not true.... EA Sports allows full editing on Madden and those players also are getting paid for their name, image and likeness rights. So... this narrative about College NIL has been debunked over and over.
@@tonyc8752 Almost like they're two completely different leagues with two completely different contracts. Only way this gets debunked is if we see the actual contract that was signed between EA and the NCAA
@@hotfiyahit still just doesn’t make sense because, you’re able to create a player in RTG. That alone just debunks that argument. One thing I’ll always do it’s, count on EA to mess something up. @@MBR2495 I do think they did really good as far as dynasty and rtg features the gameplay is a bit of a let down but it’s still the most effort ea has put into a game in years
All sports games started going downhill from the moment they started signing exclusivity deals... there's been no pressure to advance the game, to enhance game play, and to provide a better product purely because there's no competition anymore...
The amount of ppl that can watch this video and defend what they just witnessed is insane. The play with the running back is the most damning of all. It’s 2024 and we can’t get proper gang tackles. The blocking in this game is absolutely terrible. In Road To Glory, playing QB and having my coach pick terrible play after terrible play is a pain as well. Best part of this game is the presentation and customization options. Even with solid presentation, we still can’t get a decent halftime show. I would rate this game a 7.
The comment below you honestly starts "the game isnt the greatest - but Im having fun". And I respect it, people can have fun now - but how long with that fun last. The issues it has are going to get more and more frustrating.
@@mitchellanson8496 the problem with that is it’s the Year 2024. At one point are we gonna get improved AI and playcalling. Having to rely on my running back or wideouts to sell the game is absurd. The pass blocking in this game is inconsistent as well. When you compare this to older games, I don’t see why we can’t get more depth in certain areas. I would argue that 2K MyPlayer mode has had more depth than these career modes since about NBA 2K11.
@@FPSLarryIII i was just sayin ima be honest i didnt preorder so i havent played it not saying its not annoying to still get trash ass coach calls just was saying its always been that way but i get what ur sayin
I played RTG as an “underdog” player. Sat my freshman year as a red shirt, won the QB2 job at the end of the season. After the first game of year two, I won the QB1 job. Threw for 486 yards and 6 TDs in a win. Has a bye week following, and then I was QB3 the following week… what?!?!
The random benching got you too. My Buffaloes were 7-1, ranked 4th and was decisively WR2 with a 4.0 GPA. Then out of nowhere I'm back to WR5, Travis Hunter gets hurt. Lose back to back games that I can do nothing about and fall to 19th just before the playoffs. Next level sabotage. Then there's also the disappearing skill points.
I like this game, but I'll be honest the broken OL logic is why I quit madden, and it was even an issue in ncaa 14. I can get past everything else, but the horrible OL play has got to be changed.
He was on a block and release. If he would show the play art you'd see that. Not he did get stuck on a lineman and couldn't get out and that shouldn't happen, but him releasing the blocker is literally part of the play.
I did cause i play college football and have no intention of buying Madden. I played the 5 star teams and they hung 60 on my 3 star team. That’s how college works. The best teams need to blow out the lower teams. It’s not NFL football.
Defensive line got to me in under one second and I threw the ball at the last second and then a linebacker teleported from across the field to intercept it. The game is even more unplayable after this new update. Varsity difficult plays like all American so I don’t even want to know how hard heisman is
Yeah I'm done with this game I give up no matter what I try ill still throw tons of picks varsity is really hard after this latest update I was playable but now can't do crap
Heisman is so trash. I had a clutch TD as a WR on Road To Glory, and I got punished on going for 2 with a QB Draw Play instead of passing it to me. Mind you, it was 22-24 with 9 seconds left in the game.
The offensive line is an actual joke, even the announcers will sometimes say "It's like their not even TRYING to block!". I've stopped and done instant replay on some of these blitzes, it is hilarious bad. The O line will literally just stand in place and let a defender run right passed them. This is a bad game, it's College Madden.
Yeah it sucks big time. Hate that. But to be fair this has been an issue in every single football game I've ever played. Including ncaa 14, 06 and nfl 2k5 (just to name some of the greats)
Unfortunately one of the worst thing to happen to video games imo is the ability to patch games. Because in the old days you made the game and sold it as is.
Someone doesn’t remember whenever there was a game breaking glitch or bug in a sports game you had to wait till the next year to see it fixed . Ya it makes devs drip feed but patching is great if done correctly
Patching is a godsend still bc it allows devs the opportunity to fix bugs and glitches but its a dbl edged sword. Patches almost always introduce new bugs and as these games got bigger the lists of known issues got longer as well. The ability to patch games also introduced the era of half baked games...esp among the annual release titles. The consumers have become the beta testers and some of these companies barely even bother testing on their own bc the playerbase will pay xtra for early access to test for them. Unfortunately, EA falls on the dull end of that dbl edged sword bc their day 1 patches almost always ruin the games since theyre always half baked
Nowadays, bugs will be in games at launch no matter how much time is put into them. It's inevitable. Patching allows those bugs to be fixed on the fly.
Yeah it’s the annoying staged nonsense that ruins the game for me. Defenders magically shed blocks and accelerate to full speed instantly for sacks, DBs and LBs teleport and jump routes they have no business jumping, WRs drop balls for no reason, and the game actively manipulates player speed to achieve certain play outcomes. Half the plays feel like the CPU had an outcome in mind before it even started.
This game pisses me the f*ck off. The even more annoying part is how people think this game is hard.. HOW IS IT HARD WHEN THE LOGIC MAKES NO SENSE AND YOUR O LINE IS PLAYING WITH BLIND FOLDS!!!
I think I'm realizing the people loving it are playing on an easier difficulty and the people hating it are playing on all star or higher. I personally am trying to force myself to love this game and have gone to sleep passed off since the game release. The thought of this game comforts me but playing it makes me wish It never came out
Why listen to a guy who does nothing but complains year after year and buys the games anyways? If people actually stopped buying the games instead of endlessly crying about them, they'd have a reason to do what you guys want. 😂
Obviously it's nothing they can do it's a damn computer generated game it's never going to be perfect this does not happen every drive... Their job is not to please one guy year after year they still do good in sales with any game so it can't be that bad
@BostonRedSoxForever it does make sense. You're just too smooth in the head to accept it. Guys like Ryan complain every year and then they buy the game every year anyways. What incentive does EA have to improve their games if the people complaining will buy them anyways? Use what little brain cells you have to maybe try and see the truth.
Like bruh these plays are just insane it’s no way to defend it besides being a EA fanboy but anyone with actual sense of football knows how gamebreaking what we’re watching is in real life this would absolutely be major you would get put out the league for a lot of the stuff we are seeing especially right here 2:59 did the electric slide away from his assignment just gave up 💀💀💀
The game speed may be too fast for the CPU to keep up, I even believe its harder to process the field in CFB25 than madden because of the speed, barely have time to throw. They may need to tone it down a notch
@h.bblaze8969 There is no such thing as nitpicking glitches and missed assignments. These things are often times gamebreaking and clearly impact the quality of the game. Its not nitpicking to highlight the fact that i got sacked in half a second because a linemen decided not to block the assignment in front of him. Its not nitpicking for the team im going up against to bounce off players like pinballs and gets extra unnecessary yards they didn’t earn Its not nitpicking to highlight the fact that instead of improving the arc of throws, they decide to labatomize the Defensive backs so they dont even attempt to make a play on easily deflectable/catchable balls. These things all matter and are all things you see in gameplay. These among a lot other things are also all the things you guys criticize Madden for but since College Football 25 is a college game and not an NFL game and everyone is blinded by nostalgia, we seem to not care at all, so sure Defend this game, but when Madden comes out, i want to hear the same Defense for that too
@@RyanMoody21 You are the reason why I finally decided to NOT order the game. And I'll never ever regret that. Thanks for that, Ryan. Been a subscriber to your channel for years now. Keep on doing what you've been doing. Some things will never change. Things like...EA!

Because as we know...no WR's ever randomly drop wide-open throws every Saturday or Sunday. If there was zero drops and zero fumbles, you'd complain it wasn't realistic. And no one is forcing anyone to spend the extra $30 to play 3 days early. Don't spend it, problem solved.
Because as we know....EA does not program human error into its game. So when you say "in real life players drop passes" you are honestly creating an idea in your head to justify the games flaws. Think about that. You are taking a concept that EA admits is not in the game and letting it validate a game issue. This was the result of a broken animation branching - and trust me - they will patch it.
@@RyanMoody21 I’d much rather have wide receivers drop passes every so often than catch every single thing that touches their hands. If it is just a broken animation that they will patch and change…why complain about?

The difference between varsity and all American is absolutely fucking insane. Went from putting up 70 regularly to barely getting 20. I like that it’s hard but when it’s illogical it’s infuriating
Its refreshing hearing non compromised reviews. Other content creators swear this game is a step in the right direction, when in reality it's the same old garbage year after year. Give me Tecmo Superbowl with roster updates, give me 2K5 with updates. They can have my money, not EA.
The Tackling on this game is horrendous! I literally just played Bama, and the dude did a option pitch with Milroe. I tackle Milroe before he even pitches the ball, he's going to the ground. Somehow he still manages to make a perfect pitch to the running back. But we swarm the running back when he catches it. The RB breaks 3 tackles while we have him surrounded in the backfield for like a 7 yard loss. This man breaks every tackle and goes for like a 30 yard TD. I quit the game immediately. I'm not playing for the rest of the day. That's enough College Football 25 for today Smh!
Glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. All of the AI issues still persist. Blockers will literally stop in their tracks when defending. It's just crazy! Hopefully it's something that can be patched and worked on but it's EA and that has my hopes deflated.
I’ve had a 4th quarter touchdown (under a minute left for the lead) that was declared “not a TD on the field” but overturned so that it was a TD, not show up on the “end screen graphic”. The game carried on like the score was 38-37 for me. The game ended and the announcers gave my team its props for winning… But the end screen where you can check stats, highlights etc had the score: 37-32 for ORE, smh. Went to the scoring breakdown for the 4th quarter and they gave me a mysterious point with no acknowledgment of how I got it. The only score in the 4th was a field goal by ORE. Moral: win by multiple scores (just in case, lol)
NCAA 14 plays so much better than this. They should have kept the mechanics that game had, instead of trying to fit a madden gameplay into this one. I knew they were going to, and I knew it was going to decimate everything NCAA 14 ever had.
Here is what ruined it for me: WR runs a fade, DB is leading my WR by 5 yds playing a deep third, DB is facing away from the QB as I throw it back shoulder, WR stops and comes back, the DB (not even looking at my QB) stops, comes back 10 yds and picks the ball off. Playing defense, we hit the QB and he fumbles, he is laying on his back looking at the sky, ball is about 2 yards away, two of my defenders run past the ball standing up, and the ball magically suctions back to the QB who isnt even looking at it. On every single screen I run, my RB runs into the DE, and gets stuck, never fails. Defender puruit angles are horrid, even when I am running the ball, they are 100% downhill and miss me. Ruins immersion. Opposing offense in the two minute drill, hits every pass, doesnt matter what defense Im in. Teams who dont even run hurry up are in hurry up with 5 mins to go in the first quarter. Fn annoying DBs and MLBs in this game are non-existent. If i dont control my right side DE on a punt, he will into the kicker every time, without fail. Not only is he nowhere near blocking the punt, his buggy ass just keeps sprinting into the kicker, doesnt even attempt a block animation. This game has the same shit that has been plaguing EA games for a decade now. It isnt any better, it just looks faster and its "wowing" everyone bc of a little fn nostalgia.
The main problem I have right now and I haven’t even played mine yet is the fact you can’t create a player on this game. I’m pretty sure I’m not in a small group of people that wanted to create a player and some of their friends. As far as the game play, I mean it’s EA what else did we really expect? But if they don’t at least add create a player on here, this game is gonna flop hard within a few months, if that
You can "create your guy" by recruiting(change name, gear, position). You can change equipment, throwing style , and body modifications. Nil players, you can only edit equipment
@@justhoops8990 people will get tired of it quick if that’s not apart of the game. This game is not that great to be missing features like that. But continue to accept mediocrity from EA.
Played it at a friend's last night for a little bit. I'll say this: it's an improvement from Madden, but is still obviously a Madden reskin with some revamped in game motions in there. Gameplay is tighter, but it's still not great. Linebackers being able to morph into an 8 foot jump, with their back to the ball, and make a play is still a terrible issue. Also a lot of customization options are exactly the same. Minimal improvement, but that is the "Way of EA".
It's most likely the game play that's terrible the presentation is all right we have been as fans complaining of Madden that is just boring now that we have a good off-the-field detail, I think with 3 years to develop the god forsaken game, I think they need to give him more time in fact I don't even think 10 years is enough, Christ EA
The NCAA series has always kind of been like that. It's been better than Madden for a long time but really only slight improvements in gameplay over the same year. The real difference is in Dynasty mode which is deeper than any football game game mode since the PS2 era and EA deserves to be commended for that as much as I hate to say that
this game sucks. You can adjust sliders and do everything you can to make it better and it just sucks. Went from no defense with some settings and 54-50 games to defense is insane and it's 14-10 with 3 picks per game and 2.5 yards a carry.
The game can still be fun, but very frustrating at the same time. The coaching logic is awful. I am rushing for 200-300 yards per game and leading the country in rushing by a huge margin. We will be up two touchdowns and then all the sudden it skips ahead multiple series because the they didn't play me. That will result in falling behind or losing. It doesn't make sense. The play calling in general is awful. I've had 3rd and inches and the coach tries to call an end around or wide screen pass. Thankfully you can change the play with coach trust. I also agree the physics can be awful.
You got people who haven’t played the game telling us people who have played the game that it’s a madden reskin because they watched 3 bad plays smh this community is crazy
I had a Road to Glory game go into triple overtime last night, and I scored to make it 40-34, went for 2, and made it 42-34. The other team scored, and when I got the ball back, it was 42-42, and we were on the 2-yard line going for a 2pt conversion?! Didn’t make any sense at all, but when I converted, the game was over. 44-42. The announcers routinely don’t know what they’re talking about too. Lots of bugs for a game that was in dev for soooo long.
Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. People have been waiting for this for so long that they’re going to overlook the games flaws just to have the illusion it’s great.
@@Carowindsxantonio Yeah, to an extent he does reach at times I feel. But he's also demonstrating his point well in this video. The title is click bait, he's hyperbolic but the game has the same nonsense issues that Madden has during the gameplay. I was hoping that wasn't going to be the case.

I think the thing so many people are forgetting is that Dynasty is a really deep mode this year. The gameplay might not be great, but even if it was exactly the same as Madden it would still be a lot better than it due to Dynasty alone. Then it also has Road to Glory to back that up. Calling it unplayable is absolutely wild as well
@@skettinbutter3635 That's not entirely true. Madden 25 used the same engine as ncaa 14 on 360/ps3 but the xbox one/ps4 version used the new ignite engine.
Might just be skill issue but I’m curious if yall agree. In RTG I think you literally get punished for playing well. Any time I get a chunk play, there’s a holding call. CPU pass coverage is insane. The kinds of jumps to intercept that these ppl can do are superhuman meanwhile my receivers constantly drop passes. I’ve noticed that the opponent scores based on how I play and I’m sure that’s a conspiracy theory. If I have a good drive with a TD, the opponent immediately responds in like 30 seconds. It’s so frustrating because I know I’m really bad at the game but also since I’m honest enough to admit that, I still think that there’s some kind of AI system that punishes you for doing good. Also play calling on RTG and the limited audibles is ridiculous. It’s enraging to lose a game because you’re up by one TD in the 4th qtr and your coach won’t let you pass because he wants to burn clock against Alabama in the national championship when you’re up by 3 points. It has been fun to play but I’m getting sick of RTG at least
Zone defense is LITERALLY unplayable. Your players just stand in their designated zones, run the wrong directions, and can’t make any adaptive decisions based on the offense. Cover 3 with trips on the right side and they can hit a 10 yard in to the Y receiver on the backside… WHY??? Because my safety runs 10 yards backwards WHILE the QB is planting to throw. It’s so horrible and makes the game hard to play

Hey guys, I was having a ton of issues with the game as well but it's been so much better now that I learned how to adjust the sliders. I suggest that you adjust the sliders to your playing preferences. For me, the greatest changes I made were QB sliders, defensive awareness and pass blocking. yeah EA should have made a new engine with all this time they had for this game. instead they took the easy route and reused their engine so they could sell everyone on presentation and new dynasty features
they did take their time it was in dev since 2020 but the game engine they use was built for battlefield and they keep making their football games on this and that's why no matter what they do the games will all have the same issues of past titles
Also, they made the players move to fast. It's clear as day when there is a tackle interaction that includes more than 2 players in the same area they all bang around off each other. I said it over and over again that the gameplay was going to be 90-95% like Madden leading up to the release of the game and unfortunately I was spot on. Yes it is cool to play with a lot of different teams and a few new modes but if the gameplay is atrocious all that other stuff becomes irrelevant extremely quickly.
Im mad at the fact that bad teams are beating my good teams on dynasty. I understand that momentum is real but a bad team doesn’t magically get 4x better just because they get one pick. I’ll literally be up multiple touchdowns, throw one pick and it’s a tight game within 5 mins. It’s apart of how the game makes things difficult. I’ll play on varsity and blow out everyone, the second I go to all-American and the crap starts to come out.
@@len9743 True. Btw: not even at least one bland graphic overlay presentation of the starting lineups on offense and defense (it's in Madden as far as I know). And do the shadows change and move throughout a game? As far as I know, they don't, but of course they should. Immersion my ass.
@@unicornmafia6809 that's a good point. I guess none anymore they are all the same. But it's cause EA does it for both games. It's not even the run outs that are repetitive. @@coltonwilkie241 I don't know if you watch the video but his points are valid. Even if the game is overall good or great, the gameplay has issues. Madden and the engine it's built on have had issues for so long. It didn't constantly have nonsense occurring on every play because it wasn't so heinously reliant on animations. Of course there's fun to be found, you can love the game if you do. If not that, then at least on par with the Madden and NCAA games of the PS2 and Xbox era. He just demonstrates how every play there's something stupid and counter productive to actually playing the sport of football.
The fact you can look at so many massive issues and response with "but its fun". Guess what - in a few weeks it wont be fun. You will have a game thats a bug filled mess that you dont feel ilke wasting time playing. See you then.
If u enjoy the game that's good nothing wrong with that he's just pointing out the issues of the game yeah its madden on steroids. LOL he's not the only one there are other people posting on here about this game being trash.
@@RyanMoody21dude I’m 48 years old. I remember playing f n Atari 2600. I don’t take this shit to seriously. I’m having blast playing it. That’s all I care about
I miss the days of having total control of my players. I remember ncaa 2004 was so much fun. Lots of user hits, picks, sacks, catches, etc. It would even give you a score if you and a buddy had an epic game. Ahh, the good ole days. 😢
If you play variety it’s somewhat enjoyable for a little bit until you get bored of winning by 60 every game. Turn it up and then you see all the issues. I shouldn’t have to make 13 pre play adjustments every time I call a pass play just to avoid being sacked before I finish my drop back. This is a video game, it’s supposed to be fun. If I wanted to actually coach a team I’d volunteer at the high school down the street.
He was talking about the animation. He catches the ball then released it. Not logical, in football u don't catch the ball and release it you never achieve possession.
The ball was literally in the dude hand and he just dropped it because the defender was close. You also ignore the rest of the video. Dudes just disengaging blocks for no reason. Edwards just walking through ppl and not being able to be gang tackled.
My gripes: Dynasty is boring if you don’t like recruiting Road to glory is just going from screen to screen, it should have been way more immersive Why they took out trophy room? it was great to watch your trophies with game highlights My player can’t have long hair outside his helmet Lack of player editing Too quickly going to play selection screen, I would like to have ore time watch highlights No list with toughest places to play, it was a nice little feature In older games there were pictures of games in main menu, also of other games, now it just looks stale
you're asking for too much from him. As I noted in my comments, this guy seems like the type whom if he had a girlfriend because I doubt he does, but if he does, he'd probably be the type to complain because she doesn't have a bush.
@@coltonwilkie241 "Hate train" literally sums up those who blindly defend these consistently awful EA products and blast us who know how lazy EA has been for 10 years.
If I wanted to be a jerk - I would post the guy that was going off about the detail of the folding chairs on the sidelines. The game speaks for itself and in time people will get tired of this poor gameplay experience just like they did with Madden.
I honestly don’t care if the gameplay sucks, there’s so much more content and new things that madden has been missing for years that I can overlook the gameplay issues.
I dont think people forget, people just dont know. I was born in 1979 and played video games from Atari to current. EA was absolutely AMAZING in the 90s. Think of Rockstar games respect level, EA was almost that in the 90s, but with WAY more games. From Madden 92 until Madden 05, somehow Madden got better every single year. When EA bought exclusive rights, it set gamers back years, perhaps decades. As great as EA once was, they have become a bigger villain who is hated, more than the beloved hero they used to be.
