Sam Huard is pronounced Hue-erd . His uncle was an NFL QB & Husky great so people were used to hearing that last name, but you might be a little younger . And the Brockermeyers are Texas Longhorn legacies , I remember that being a big deal when they went to Alabama. Crazy how things change. Tom Herman was a disaster. Imagine if Orlando Pace had two top ten offensive lineman sons and they went to Notre Dame or Michigan instead of Ohio State. Kind of like Lloyd Carr’s grandson going to Notre Dame..yikes.
Kyle McCord is not a bust. Just because he’s not Dwayne Haskins, Justin Fields, or C.J Stroud. You can’t measure an athlete’s success through another player. Every has there own journey but of course you wouldn’t know that because you clearly aren’t/ never were an athelete
@@djLagwayEnjoyer what's crazy is usc just went 7-5 and won it's first bowl game in years. Is in a place that has 9x the population of Fresno and only has an extra 15k in attendance🤢 good luck in the big 10✌️
Another guy trying to live up to incredibly high standards at Ohio State. That Penn State game was one of the best solo performances by a defensive lineman in college football history. Came up big against PSU again in 2023, saved the game against Notre Dame with two drive stopping plays to give Mccord the ball with a chance to win. Has the talent and needs to be more consistent with sacks..but Jaylen is fine. He's primed for a huge senior year
Yeah i'm an OSU fan and I wouldn't exactly call him a bust either. He's not elite but few are. The bar in Columbus is extremely high. We saw what CJ Stroud just did to the NFL..who really wants to follow that? Even CJ got hella criticism because Justin Fields was a complete college quarterback
I knew Tommy Brockermeyer was over rated, his dad was an AA OT for UT back in the day & Tommy was at a private school in Fort Worth. Private schools in Texas are not like most other states, they are typically less talented than the state schools. Sons of NFL greats in Texas usually attend affluent smaller town schools who can provide talent around their kid. Camar Wheaton surprised me a bit, I thought Bama was a tough draw for him with all the talent they get. I never thought he'd be a top level RB, but I thought he would be a good CFB RB. Sometimes going to a school where everyone is 4 & 5 stars can be intimidating.
It’s always weird when guys like Damon Payne or Twone Malone inexplicably go from Northern States way down South. I mean I get the draw (Malone wanted to play baseball too) and sometimes it works out but more times than not it was something sketchy going on in the recruitment & the on field results don’t come into fruition. If you’re a big time DT in Michigan or New Jersey, why would you go to a region where they seemingly grow em on trees..I get development and comp but you can get developed & star at any big Northern or non-SEC school. It usually works better for southern kids who realize they can go up north and become stars.
@@billythompson3647he actually was solid this year. Stats just won’t show it. He’s not a DARON Payne or Quinnen Williams. Everybody’s path is different.
some of these guys were a little overrated coming out of high school with all the covid stuff and i think alot of them lost a year in high school. funny enough that extra covid year they got could help a lot of these guys.
The money will destroy lots of the five stars. It’s just too young to be handed that type of money. They’re only human. Spoiled is what many of these guys are.
Just because Kyle McCord didn’t throw for a million yards and 100 TD’s did like Haskins or Stroud, but he had a season that 90% schools would be thrilled for their QB to have. People forget he was undefeated before the Michigan start. I hate Ohio State but this is a trash person to put on the list
I figured half these 5 stars end up busts. Recruiting services are not that accurate at noticing real talent. I always thought such an easy job to have can be wrong 50% of time like a weatherman. Like that OT Olu from Penn st best o-linemen in this draft was just a 3 star player! How'd they miss his potential?
Yeah and people put wayyyy too much value into star rankings in general. Kenneth Grant looks better than just about every five star in his class. Dawand Jones started at LT as a rookie. Both 3-star 'projects' out of Indiana.
@@PFlaw317the 2021 class was hard to evaluate bc of covid. U had some 3star players that could of been high ranked players but didn’t have senior season. Like bowers wasn’t top 100 player bc he didn’t play a single snap in 2020 and ended up being best offensive player 2yrs in a row
This is a terrible video lol your calling dudes a bust that are nowhere near a bust. Egbuka is one of the best receivers in the country just had a lingering ankle injury last season. JT and Jack sawyer are 2 of the highest graded DE. McCord had a solid season just not to Ohio state standards of Stroud and fields and others before him but at most schools would be praised. Your clueless
