Hurley is the coach the Lakers need. Experienced and the best available out there. Lakers need to build a culture moving past Lebron. They can't afford to get a JJ and keep changing coaches every two/three years. The franchise has to have consistency over the years and start thinking life post Lebron. I hope it becomes reality. That would be a solid move.

It’s definitely a risk but so would JJ Reddick. There have been plenty of successful college coaches in the NBA. I think this is a better option if the Lakers are in “win now” mode. I love JJ but he’s untested in any kind of college or professional coaching.

Can we just discuss that Bob Myers left his position because the game and the league was evolving. He knew he had to break up the Warriors to compete moving forward. He saw the landscape and bolted. My point is previous college coaches failed because the NBA was not in line with college coaches. Way different Pitino, and Calipari NBA today. So to say Hurley would not translate to todays NBA I think he is being biased here. Just another Laker hater. You have to think outside the box in todays NBA. I would run it back with last years roster and prove Hurley is the man and Ham was exactly why he got fired. Bet my money he would use all that depth we have efficiently.

As a lifelong Lakers fan, I would LOVE Dan Hurley as their next coach. There's no doubt that the Lakers would hire him. It'll be solely up to Hurley as to if he decides to accept the job or stay with UConn. And you can't even compare those other college coaches named. I had said right away at that time that their style wouldn't translate well into the NBA. Hurley's style WILL translate well into the NBA THAT'S the difference.
