I was shocked looking at the box score and seeing that Bacot only had a single rebound and single point at half. He certainly had a monster second half to make up for it.
Yea I was at the game and when Bacot finally got going in the 2nd half he brought so much energy to the arena. There were games last year where the Heels would, in the first half, not go down low to the big man. He did the same thing and would bust open the 2nd half
@pwrlineJAWK But it's important to improve his free throw shooting since he's gonna get to the line all season. He shot 218 free throws last season and has improved his free throw percentage every year from 65% to 66% to 67% yet this year he's at 61%. As long as he can get that 61% to 68% we're golden but we'd rather it be 70% instead of 60%, know what I mean.
@pwrlineJAWK bro i wanna see what makes them the number 1 team in the country, thru the first two games i don't see it. Just like last night i don't see the zags as the number 2 team
@pwrlineJAWK Its going to be a good game, i think we both agree to that. But if they start off like this against IU they will prolly lose. Fans are already in line waiting to get in lol
Im glad hubert called there play out as soft because that what it has been lately the competiton only picks up.....would like to see the bench do more...hopefully puff gets healthy and can contribute....rebounding is an issue as is aggressiveness in general.
Where’s dontrez? I was interested in his development this year. Puf is hurt but we should be incredibly deep especially with these freshmen playing solid
That's a Roy Williams staple, "sportsmanship" etc.. Roy would Always apologize about last second buckets that aren't necessary, but Charleston deserved to get slammed on after playing as HARD AS THEY CAN even though they were down 14 with 40 seconds left. I'm glad he did it, and I hope he does it every chance he gets.
That’s why I’m glad we got a coach like Hubert. That’s a sign we’re going to get better come March. Hubert is all about discipline and humility and that’s what UNC need in a coach.
People on the internet had me worried!! What you just seen was HEART!!! What you just seen was DETERMINATION!! What you just seen KNOWLEDGE OF SELVES!!! THEY'RE PLAYING LIKE THEY BELIEVE!!! THEY'RE PLAYING LIKE THEY ALREADY KNOW!!! IM PROUD TO BE A TARHEEL! JUST AS PROUD AS THEY ARE TO BE!!!!
Little do we know that in the first AP poll of the new year, when North Carolina drops out again after their loss to Pitt earlier this week, Charleston will most likely get in based on the strength of their Charleston Classic triumph and a 12-game winning streak alone. In the end, Charleston will get the last laugh.
He is what he is IMHO.. He tries to feast on smaller players and his footwork is terrible. He got outplayed all night hell he should have fouled out in the first half.. But you know the ACC wants to protect thier reputation.
This felt like a tournament game. Which is good. Carolina needs to learn to cook early in games so they won’t be trailing big later in the game. Not taking anything from Charleston they are a great team and should win the Big South this year and make a deep run in the tournament this year if they keep playing like that and stay healthy. Hopefully they will get better at hitting the 3s 5/20 not really great. But it’s good to know we can still score a hundred points without hitting a lot of 3s.
Charleston and Wilmington both gave Carolina a tough game. Makes me wonder if the Heels are really that good. They certainly don't look like a number one team.
@@shotstakovichmybeloved it's hard to know how good they'll be. They were given the preseason number one ranking because of the late season run they went on when most of the season they were just average at best. Admittedly, they were playing as well as any team in the country at the end of the year, but as it stands now they have a long way to go. And, both of there first two opponents are good teams. I think UNCW won their conference last year
We need to start off the 1st half as good as we start the 2nd, play a full 40 minutes guys, c'mon your gonna kill me with these 1st halves but a W's a W Charleston just couldn't answer the surge Good Game
Massive Heels fan, but see us getting upset in the Sweet 16. The best team doesn't always win. It's the team that gets hottest during March., like we did last year.
How could you say that in November. Who’s to say that Carolina can’t get hot and get to the final 4 again but this time win it all. We haven’t seen the best version of this team. Way to early. Lets Go Heels
A little while ago I was elaborating on injuries followed by a reply the thing about it is injuries do happen I don’t like seeing it but it’s almost inevitable it’s almost 100% guaranteed it’s not 100% guaranteed that at some point during the season, we will have injured players or an injured player unfortunately I don’t like thinking negative but every year it happens to one of our players. That’s the thing about college basketball that I think is an unfortunate situation that is hard to avoid everybody deals with injuries I’ve seen it so many times so many times it’s very hard not to get injured I hope it doesn’t happen but the reality is they happen regularly during the season it happens to everybody everybody has to deal with injuries the problem is falling on the floor falling on the court getting injured costs you big. It’s very hard not to get injured. How about last year us in the national championship against Kansas, right? All of our players were injured. Think about it! We had so many injuries that’s what costed us the national championship everybody on our team more than half of our team RJ Davis was hurt last year. Injuries are a big deal. Because if you’re injured that is going to hurt your other teammates as well I mean coaches do not like seeing their players injured nobody likes that fans do not like it this is what loses games injuries. Injuries are costly you need players I mean you’re gambling with your players if you bring somebody in who is a benchwarmer that’s going to make your team choke In Important situations I don’t think there is a single team that I am aware of that has gone through the year without an injury for the starters. Nobody in the medical department of the arena during the game wants to come out on the court to make sure your player is OK nobody wants to do that. That’s what keeps the medical staff during the game up at night they don’t want to Have to deal with in the next game the player who went up for the way up to go to the hoop against his opponent, and step on the other player, and fall to start the game for a couple of minutes nobody wants to deal with that. But you risk that when you play on the team that’s the thing about it. How can you avoid injuries?
We will keep beating the brakes off fluke dook 💯. So you can keep hating. Fluke dook hasn't been in a NCAA basketball 🏀🏆 championship title game since last decade 🤣
The whole off season all I heard was how much bacot has improved….these past two games it looks like he’s never played basketball a day in his life. Almost 7ft tall and playing likes he’s 4ft. Leaky Black remains a solid figure for the tarheels!
@pwrlineJAWK We've seen more ready Tar Heels. I've seen this before. They're struggling against teams that may struggle to sniff the tournament, if make it at all. Competition is getting tougher in non conference. They have to show that they won't play down to the competition. Annihilation should have been the theme with the first 2 games at home against inferior opponents.
Great dub boys! Hueburt though shouldn't feel the need to apologize to CoC coach for Love's last second dunk. CoC wanted to foul and press down double digits with 30 seconds to go so Love went 💯 until the horn sounded.
"Charleston is a beautiful city, great for recruiting" ? like its aight if you like antique stores and overpriced brunch and seeing those poor horses carting folks around in 95 degrees but no recruits are going there for the city..
Great win! By the way, I only noticed that only like several people in the whole Dean Dome wore masks. I did notice one person That halfway had it on in the front. Also, during the Pitt game a week or so ago our football team only like three fans they did show one outlier who wore a mask in the stands. Those people unless they have some kind of health condition or something they are the laughingstock Americans now look everyone’s having a good time I mean I laugh at the very few who wear masks. The few who still do are an eyesore to the rest of society. Mask wearers are laughing stocks. Fans that cheer for referees or officials are laughing stocks.
@@aznpr1d3n I’m not focused on that I’m focused on the people who do wear them during games it’s like maybe 10 people per game. I’m not focusing on it so much as I am thinking it’s crazy they do that those people I don’t get them of course I’m watching the game I noticed nobody wears them but the ones who do I can’t help but I think it’s inappropriate. Unless they have health conditions I don’t see anybody wear masks anymore like that but when I do again I think they are the outliers of society.
@@aznpr1d3n no I’m just so glad life is back to normal I feel so sorry for those who wear masks if they have underlying health conditions that is but if they don’t I don’t understand them but I don’t see many of them anymore thank God.
@@aznpr1d3n I thought I saw a player from another team black jersey wear a facemask unrelated to what I’m talking about but on par with psycho t in 2007 I don’t know if it was a wake forest player or what but maybe it was Virginia recently I can’t remember but some player wore a black face mask I don’t know if they were hurt or what I think it may have been for Tony Bennett’s team I’m not 100% sure but he wore the same mask when Gerald Henderson broke his nose.
@@aznpr1d3n I think he had an injury. I’m not sure if it was against wake forest or not but it may have been it may have been against Virginia I can’t remember but he was a a think to be honest I’m not being racist or anything I’m just telling you what I remember he was like Blake Griffin he was black with white in him I just can’t remember what team again it was a black jersey that he wore I think his number was zero one with red in his uniform. But he wore this facemask I think he broke his jaw in the last game I just can’t remember who it was but he had curly hair also he was about 5 foot 10 I guess not very tall but not very short either but a point guard I think he is but I don’t know who he is but again he wore a crystal clear facemask because he was hurt recently ago just like Tyler Hansbrough was but who was this you know I’m talking about you must follow basketball I am starting to get back into it it’s early in the season it’s November right? Who is this player who got hurt who had a face mask?
