Im a huge sneaker fan. I have no issue when a new shoe company does "their" take on a popular shape. Gourmet did it. Creative Recreation did it. And I bought shoes from both during their eras over a decade ago now. I really feel the only people that would have an issue with these arent looking to really put an outfit together, or they dont branch out and check other companies. This is their take on the Tom Sachs general purpose shoe. I cannot unsee it. I DO LOVE these. These are incredible looking. If nike would release an ACG version of the general purpose and do similar "trail" colorways they would have a HIT. No question
Some folks like the aesthetic of hiking shoes while still wanting premium materials. I doubt anyone is gonna go on a serious hike in these. Similar to how people like retro Air Jordans. We can appreciate the leather materials and old air technology, while not wanting to play basketball in them. There’s clearly better basketball shoes out nowadays, but we like the look of old ones nonetheless.
