Anthony Ruggiano Jr. is a former member of the Gambino crime family, which is one of the five families of organized crime in New York City. He is the son of Anthony "Fat Andy" Ruggiano, who was also A Capo, a high-ranking member of the Gambino family. Anthony Ruggiano Jr. has been involved in various criminal activities, including extortion, loan sharking, and racketeering. However, it is important to note that engaging in criminal activities is illegal and not condoned by any reputable organization or individual.
The Colombo crime family is one of the five major organized crime families in New York City. It was founded in the early 1920s by Joseph Profaci and is named after him. The family is part of the Italian-American Mafia, also known as La Cosa Nostra.
Throughout its history, the Colombo crime family has been involved in various criminal activities, including racketeering, extortion, gambling, loan sharking, and drug trafficking. They have had a significant presence in Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Long Island, with their headquarters located in Brooklyn.
The family has been known for its internal conflicts, often resulting in violent disputes. The Colombo crime family gained widespread attention in the 1960s and 1970s due to a power struggle between different factions within the family. This conflict, known as the Colombo Wars, resulted in several high-profile assassinations and shootings.
One of the most infamous incidents during the Colombo Wars was the 1971 shooting of Joseph A. Colombo Sr., the family's boss and founder of the Italian-American Civil Rights League. Colombo was shot and seriously injured during a rally he organized, which was intended to protest the negative portrayal of Italian-Americans in the media. This incident led to increased scrutiny and law enforcement pressure on the Colombo crime family.
Over the years, the Colombo crime family has faced numerous indictments and arrests, leading to the downfall of several high-ranking members. The family's leadership has seen frequent changes due to various internal power struggles and law enforcement actions. However, they have managed to maintain their criminal activities and continue operating, albeit with diminished power and influence.
In recent years, the Colombo crime family has been involved in various illegal enterprises, including labor racketeering, construction scams, and illicit gambling operations. They have also been known to exert control over certain unions and industries, using their influence to garner illicit profits.
Law enforcement agencies have been actively targeting the Colombo crime family, along with other organized crime groups, to disrupt their operations and dismantle their hierarchy. Through the use of wiretaps, undercover agents, and informants, law enforcement agencies have successfully brought numerous Colombo family members to justice.
Despite the challenges and setbacks, the Colombo crime family continues to be an active criminal organization in the United States. While their influence may have diminished over the years, they still pose a significant threat to society and continue to engage in illegal activities.
In conclusion, the Colombo crime family has a long and storied history within the Italian-American Mafia. Known for their involvement in various criminal endeavors, internal conflicts, and enduring resilience, they have left a lasting impact on organized crime in New York City. However, law enforcement efforts and societal changes have also played a role in challenging their influence and disrupting their operations.

What a scumbag to run a man’s son as a CI and get him to record their conversations. Not only that, but you have to also prep him to testify against his father. How can you live with yourself? And all of this so the drug addicted son could avoid a little jail time. Sonny was framed, everybody knows it. And you as an FBI agent should be ashamed. But you’re probably not because the FBI is corrupt from head to toe. They framed him because they couldn’t catch him. Disgusting.

I know that's what's get me..they spent so much time on the mob they couldn't see a the hijacking of multiple planes and taking out the World Trade Center ...they only went after the old man Sonny cause of Kennedy..I believe his son Michael when he says that

Wow. His proudest moment is prepping a son to testify against his 93 year old father who had already been in jail for decades. 🤔

So the pinnacle of this agents career was getting a son to cooperate against his elderly father? I’m not a street person and even to me that seems unethical. Why don’t you go convict some terrorists or something? What a waste of tax payer money.

What a corrupt dirtbag this agent is. I don’t know how he lives with himself. But then again, you don’t join the FBI because you’re an honest, upstanding citizen, person you join it so you can destroy the lives of little people who can’t fight back on while protecting the powerful and politically connected.

So these guys paid a drug addict $50,000 so he will wire up against his 93 years old father and then asked judge to give him 15 years sentence

@@jasonfarmer4490 no he wasn't the mafia was kaput by that time. the reason why the government had a hard on for the mob is because they had the CIA take over all the duties that the mob had previously been responsible for. The mob got big because our government wanted the mob to get big.

Yer I wonder if he explained to his own son how he prepared John to record his father then testify against his dad,The kid would be looking at him thinking "your a fucking rat dad" your worse than this putrid John, and you got the audacity to even think that's ok ya just doing ya job ffs,I bet the next time anyone asks the kid "what does ya dad do for a living" he got a laundromat or he replys "Na dads a fucking rat he set's he set's bad guys up then sends em off to jail just to make a name for himself,

Anthony Ruggiano. What can I even say? What a character? I have researched American and British Organized Crime for many years and find the subject and the history of these organizations fascinating. Anthony, to me, is now such a likeable and funny guy. Don't get me wrong, in his younger days, when he was an active member of American O. C. I wouldn't want to have run afoul of him or any his people. I have mucho respect for gentlemen like Anthony and Sammy Gravano. Hats off to them both. In the end they both came over to the side of law and order and were the reason many in the life became inactive, unwillingly, but even so. They both cut short a lot of lifelong criminals careers. I want to thank everyone that has anything to do with this podcast. So entertaining. "Reformed Gangsters" is one RU-vid Channel I can't get enough of. Be watching you's on the next. Peace. Big shoutout from Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Later guys.
