But e-ink tech is for battery and easier on the eyes. Because eink doesnt need lights at all. Imagine staring at light source vs none. Sure if you need to read at night, you dont need to use the build in light if you're reading in a lit room. LCD will always emit lights.
It was supposed to be the next big think in e-ink, but I think the company just couldn’t deliver it. They delayed what they had promised for a long time, the. Decided to release this which doesn’t look anything like we saw in the demos… too bad
I think the latest NXTPaper tech (2.0 and 3.0) is more like a normal lcd display with.. lower blue light and a matte finish. There's no mention of transflective, nor mention of flicker. They need to be clearer on what tech they're using and avoid mixing different tech with the same branding.
I purchased the nxtpaper 11 from a local retail shop for 200 euros. I really like it. I owned e-ink devices from onyx in the past. I have tried numerous LcD devices and I experienced eye strain. I was really skeptical at first as i thought it was just a matt screen film , but i am happy to say it does the job and I didn't experience eye strain. I bought the stylus today and yes its good for sketching on the go. I think the nxtpaper could be an option for some people (such as artists and creative writers who sketch ideas and read documents) who need colour, latency and have a limited budget. Yes Nxtpaper is not e-ink or e-paper but its not a glossy screen with a matt screen protector that has been manually applied. It is a pretty decent device that may appeal to some people willing to give it a chance.
Yes, I agree with you. I actually made sorts of a follow up video with the TCL 40 NXTPAPER phones where I mentioned, that I'm using the NXTPAPER 10s regularly by now. It happened gradually though. But now I really do appreciate the almost glare-free screen.
I enjoyed your video , There is something I am wondering about , Emagazines , where refresh rate is not important since you are basically reading a magazine , but picture quality and text quality are both very important , and reading outdoors is not important . What is the best choice for this situation today and what do you think will be the best choice in a few years when new technologies have time to mature ?
It somewhat depends on the app. Some magazines and providers offer quite useful apps with dynamic zoom etc. For those I'd generally go for one of the iPads to be honest. However, Color E-Ink got much better with the Boox Tab Ultra C and E-Ink Kaleido 3 display technology in the last couple of months. It's now at a point where I actually feel comfortable recommending Color E-Ink. Just be sure that you know about the downsides as well (I mention them in my other videos). I fully expect Color E-Ink to get even better with E-Ink Gallery 3. It still has some issues, but I fully expect Amazon to include a Color Kindle based on that technology at some point. Just not very soon - more like 3-5 years if I had to guess.
Nxtpaper is multifunctional. I don't need to buy and carry an extra tablet just for reading. Nxtpaper is ok enough to read compared to normal shining screen. Of course it can be better.
I was thinking about this too. But I already have a good phone and tablet. If I just get a nice matte screen protector it's probably just as good as nxtpaper. Still not as good as e-ink, but make be good enough for reading.
@@jaysonibanez1088 yes. if you use really use good screen protector with help the eyes it's good than it. for me it's not usable. i sell mine and bought onyx boox nova air c.
