You said the Springs gas a hotter summer but the average temps from June to August, are lower yhan Denver. Maybe yiure referring to the fact yhat at higher elevation it feels hotter?

No - you’re correct and I completely said it backwards. Sorry for the mistake and thank you for the correction!

Thanks for your video! Very helpful! One Question: You mentioned Kayaking, where does flat water kayaking happen in Colorado? That really helps me narrow down my decision making ! Thank you

Thank you so much for watching! People kayak Sloan’s Lake (with a permit), Cherry Creek Reservoir, Chatfield Res and Aurora Res, which are all close to Denver. Boulder Res and Gross Res are for Boulder, and there’s also Carter Lake, McIntosh Lake, Warnke Lake Park and Union Res that are pretty close to Boulder as well!

What about the hail? I saw some videos with some bad hailstorms, how can you live in that, how often does that happen? It looks like it can kill you if you get hit with a big hail ball.

Hail can get pretty nasty but the damage it does is mainly directed at cars and roofs during the worst of them. Trust me, if people were dying from random hail strikes people wouldn't be living here. The storms themselves are sporadic and happen all across the region so as an example, I have been back in Colorado since 2008 after growing up here - and ONE storm in 15 years has affected me. I am not saying it doesn't affect us, but you may very well never deal with significant hail directly.

There are bad hailstorms in both Denver and the Springs equally I would say. When I lived in Denver and in Englewood, CO there were gnarly hailstorms almost once a year. We decided to do a metal roof on our home because it didn't make sense to do asphalt and have to change it out every 10- 15yrs ish because the cumulative effects of multiple hail storms whacked it dead. Our whole neighborhood pretty much needed new roofs after an intense hail. Insurance would not cover the roof fully once it was 10yrs old when I lived in these areas (it was partial coverage after that point due to aging). I live in Pueblo, CO now, and (knock on wood), you just don't see hail down here or tornado warnings like I did when I lived in the metro area (lived my entire life in the Denver area until 6yrs ago).

I’m not, I’m a mortgage lender by trade, but do have quite a few connections on the fire and police departments in and around Denver. I’d be happy to connect and see if I can get you in contact with the right people, if you’d like? Thanks for watching!

Is it true that a lot of Americans live in wooden houses?
@destinationdenvercolorado
@destinationdenvercolorado Год назад
Thanks for watching Heinrich! It depends on the region and climate, but many homes in the United States, are constructed primarily or substantially with wood, that’s right.

Might want to mention Denver is a blue state and CoS is not.

Neither. It’s cold As F in Colorado. Hiking is good in the summer but that’s about it. Know before you go. Now you know. Enjoy.
@destinationdenvercolorado

This winter has been the coldest in three decades but they are normally far more mild. Certainly colder than southern states but nothing compared to the Midwest or north. As for hiking, if you like to snowshoe you can hit trails year round if you really wanted to.

@@destinationdenvercolorado mountain biking and stuff like that is great. And rock climbing. So if your into that stuff it’d a great place but it’s cold As F at nights in the winter. Very cold. Always.
@Arthamus

@@user-ux6tk8pi9ithat's such a subjective statement. You should tell people what your comparing it too. I'm moving from Wisconsin so I doubt it's colder than here.
