What can’t Alexis draw, the correct answer is nothing. Cause SHE IS SO SO TALENTED 👏🏻!! Yessss be gentle with the circles 🙌🏻! Ah good idea to tape the paper down! I’ve got that when I paint before. Does help to keep the canvas or paper in place, so that it’s easier to add color too ✨💗. Q tips may not be good for the ears but, woooow is it good for blending 😍!! Haha I’m impatient too when it comes to my art, if I start a piece- I want to finish it in one sitting 🤩. I love this background and the color choice 💚! Beautiful way to fill up space! 👏🏻💗

Kari Beth thank you Kari!!💙 it’s so hard to paint or even draw without the paper or canvas secured haha. And yes q tips are amazing! I need to start blending with a brush to reduce waste but it’s not always as easy!! Art takes so much time haha😂😂

Thanks for the info on the mineral spirits. Most just say use it. Great picture also. Something else that would be cool is blur the background so it looks like the depth of field on a camera the bird would be sharp but I loved what you did making the circle pop

Love using solvent on background, my problem is I have a very sensitive nose, I've used different "odorless" solvents, but I find they still have a strong smell. Lol I use outside then leave artwork in garage for 24hrs, that usually works where i don't smell them anymore. You have recommendations on a true odorless solvent. Thanks! Love your videos 🙂

Understandable, I can be sensitive to it as well but usually for me my eyes start to water if I don't have proper ventilation! I don't use solvent super often for this reason, and I only have Gamsol so I'm not sure how great other brands are. Maybe wearing a mask would help keep the smell from bothering you as much? :)

Hi. Whenever I use q tips to blend it tends to go out of the lines, can I use a brush instead? If so, what kind of brush do you recommend?

Yes you can! Most artists do use a brush actually, I just haven't found one I like yet. The brushes I have used seem to be too soft and don't really work as well:(

I know😂 Try cutting up a paper into smaller pieces and practice a different background on each one, without drawing a subject that way you will feel less anxious!
