this is by far the very best explanation of how to use a colour wheel, I have seen other videos and still not had a clue what the use of it was, but now I get it, and will be heading out to get one asap, I am a beginner at this colouring and so think it will be a valuable tool for me - thank you for the video. Pam
you were recommended by Simple Art FA and I've really learned a lot already, thank you for that color wheel tutorial, sometimes the wheels can be a little daunting! With all the mayhem in the world, and being a nurse, I love color to help me de-stress! Have a Blessed day.
Thanks you so much ! I’m new to the coloring world. Unable to start my book today because I was overwhelmed with colors and my coloring wheel . You helped me tremendously! Ty
Keni Vrataric lol...thanx! If your into learning and color along videos for greyscale... I teach that pretty well too. My original digital downloads at patreon.com/PamProctor no contracts, several videos each month...just $5. Maybe worth checking it out. Thanx again.
I really learned a lot from this super informative video. I'm very new to all this adult colouring and all it entails, so I know very little about things like this. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and teaching me about using a colour wheel. I'll be watching more of your videos with interest. 👍💗😃
As I watched this video a giant lightbulb popped up over my head....lol. I seriously never understood how to use this until now. Coloring is supposed to help with my anxiety but I was always so worried about my colors.....now I can enjoy coloring. Thank you so much for this video!!!
I know you made this a while ago but this a great resource I am not so great with color choosing and this method makes me look good. Thank you for making this video.
Well, I have to say this is at the top of best videos I've ever watched. I immediately ordered this Color Wheel and I'll re- watch this video when I get it to make sure I know how it works. Your demos of how it works are great. It has the ability to take a lot of my panic out of picking out a color palette 🌻. Thank you so much for all your videos. Each of them are filled with great information that I've already started taking notes on to refer to when I need to. This color wheel is available on Amazon. Thanks so much 🌻.
Really think that you will love that color wheel... I always try to suggest things that I think are really helpful in our world of coloring. I also wanna ask you to take a look at something else for me.... patreon.com/PamProctor it is the exclusive platform that I am using now. I will do a bit over here on youtube, but not nearly as much as I used to. And, I am moving most of my new coloring and greyscale pages over there too. Just seems a bit easier to go through them for such a small price. I have posted at least 8 videos over there this month and given two greyscale coloring pages. Hope you will check it out.
I have just ordered this colour wheel from France and it was £10.81 of which £ 2.81 was the p&p not cheap but i wanted the same one as you with the holes. Great video
Good question... Really depends on the picture. Example... Someone's outfit would be the item. A decorated room.... entire room for color scheme. Hope this helps.
I bought this same color wheel on Amazon after seeing your video, and I love it. It's so much better to use and it's really helpful when picking colors to actually see the color swatch through the rectangular cutouts on this wheel. Thanks for the recommendation... it works great!
I should have bought stock in these things!!! lol.... I think that JoAnn Fabrics still carries them and you can use that coupon on your phone for them.
Thank you for the recommendation! Did you make your card swatches or can I order them? I have many sets of pencils and would like to make color swatches for them.
Pam Proctor Yup, my local Hobby Lobby Stores (actually the two locations close to me) have the larger color wheel often mentioned on RU-vid and this same small one, I’ve also seen them in JoAnnes. Each store location sometimes vary on what they have in stock but I just saw them both last week In Hobby Lobby. Call ahead and ask for the art dept to see if they have it before u make the trip. I purchased both of mine there.
I think you can also use the value contrast, I.e. not necessarily the same value say all no.3 but some color light and some color dark which is incidentally some colors saturated some not. Check van Gogh colors
I know I have probably asked this question already but......when coloring a page do I look at each object individually or do I look at the whole picture when picking colors
It can go both ways, just depends on how busy the page is. Ex... Two repeating flowers, leaves, and ladybugs. That is few enough elements that I'm doing the whole page. For the most part, I think I end up doing each element. Hope this helps.
I want to become a member of your patreon but I don't know how to sign up for it. Can you please tell me what I need to do to become a patreon member. I love all your videos you explain things very easily and I really appreciate that I want to really become a member of your patreon.
you should be able to follow this link and just sign up through paypal or whatever you use for online ... it is only $5 a month and there is no contract for length of time! patreon.com/PamProctor Copy and paste that into your search bar... let me know if you have questions.
Just do a search on it for your area. They are currently in JoAnn Fabric stores in the quilting area and on ebay. I got two more not long ago with coupons at JoAnns.
I don't think it matters as much when you get over four. You could always do five next to each other and the one across from the center one. Easier to break down the picture... A child with a few toys... Don't count the child's skin, and pick your colors to dress them. Next, look at the toys and do one at a time. Don't try to do all the toys together with one collection of colors from the wheel. Does this help or do you need a video walking you through it?

I actually started a group March 2016. Coloring books - keep it clean (for Ladies ONLY) on facebook. Just do challenges and periodic giveaways with no pressure to compete for anything. It is exactly as stated, just keeping it clean.
Looks like there's another one by Sew Easy that is an Amazon's Choice item. Apparently a close comparison, but I don't think the color names are on it. The Rainbow one is available online at JoAnn Fabrics and in store at $12, there's a 40% off coupon this week too. Thank you for the Amazon update.
You may also want to go and find me at patreon.com/PamProctor I just ask that folks give it two month to see what I really do there. @@PamProctor I didn't mean it to sound hateful like that. I just meant I just grab a color I'm feeling the need to use and go with it. All that planning would give me a headache :) I apologize if I upset you. I didn't mean it that way !!
@@teresa6775 thanx for explaining. I get that and glad you can color that way. I have so many following that just seem to want it all... Matchy, and then they get stuck. Happy coloring.
